  29. [Background]
  30. Please share your background with us, minimum one paragraph: There isn't much to say. I was born in Portland Oregon. Building and creating things had always taken my interest in life and figuring out how things were created. Things like large cargo ships, planes, and especially the engines that made them work. My mother and father owned their own successful automotive engineer company that inspired me to be just like them and run the business after they retire. Well, I was going to run the business.

  33. my hard working work ethic and determination to strive to bigger and better things. Because of this hard work and passionate love towards engineering I had a great interest in maths, physics, and product design.
  34.
  35. Sport was a large part of my life (Playing rugby) with its workout and nutritional regime enabled me to be able to lift heavier weight without needing mechanical assistance when working minor jobs for my mother and father which funnily enough, all the hard hits and injuries I had during that time didn't make me brain dead.
  36.
  37. Learning from my mother and father on the job was a large involvement in my learning and passion for engineering in general. I took a larger role in my families business when my mother died in 2006. From my experience on the job, I had developed new ideas on car engines that my father designed and colleagues created where I was close to making the engine more compact but still as powerful as the normal sized engine for a fraction of the price.

(One paragraph minimal, keep it realistic and HL2 canon): If I were to be accepted and able to start a project, it would be to create a new material that is easily mass produced, quick drying, enabling concrete buildings to be incredibly strong and able to withstand the current weather. If it works, this material could revolutionize the way that supplies are transported from city to city. A highway that can span for hundreds of miles that could be built and completed in a matter of years.
