- #Introduction
- For my project, I am going to created a website for my dad.
- My dad is a rabbi, which makes him an important figure in our local Jewish community, and he is retiring from his synagogue this summer.
- He wants to have a personal website to continue interacting with the community after retirement.
- #Website Components (in order of priority)
- 1. About Me
- History and background of Rabbi Chuck
- 2. Contact Me
- Contact Rabbi Chuck with questions or comments
- 3. Blog
- Posts about Rabbi Chuck's thoughts on current events, Judaism, sports, etc.
- 4. Photo Album
- Self-explanatory
- 5. Calendar
- Events that Rabbi Chuck will be participating in or raising awareness of
- 6. Donation Link
- Donate to discretionary fund that is used to help the community (Probably a paypal button?)
- #Technology
- I don't have any experience in web development, so I plan to use Bootstrap for front-end framework.
- I will be using PHP for most, if not all of the coding.
- If the contact me section uses a database, I will use MySQL, but it might be easier for my dad and me if it just emails him directly.
- This section is the most subject to change because I've never worked with these languages, so I will have to learn a lot on the job and throughout the course.
- #Questions
- I consider the first three website components to be what I'm trying to get done for project 1 and the final three to be stretch goals, potentially being completed in project 2.
- Is this realistic for someone with my experience level?
- This is the only question I can think of for now, but I'm sure I will have more once I actually start working on the site.
