  1. [18:14:46] Seona Mabella Tsuchi: Oh, yea. Can I see your sword?
  2. [18:15:37] {Item} You dropped A Resprited Sword..
  3. [18:15:37] Seona Mabella Tsuchi: <*looks over the blade*> Not bad at all.
  4. [18:15:37] Thakan'dar: Not at all, no. Though I can always improve, and I plan to.
  5. [18:16:28] Seona Mabella Tsuchi: Tell me, what is you prefer the most? Power, fortune, love, or protection?
  6. [18:16:28] Seona Mabella Tsuchi: [is it*]
  7. [18:16:28] Thakan'dar: To be frank, I care more about fortune than the others, though power is a close second choice.
  8. [18:16:28] Seona Mabella Tsuchi: I see.~
  9. [18:17:20] Seona Mabella Tsuchi: <places the blade on the table and and starts going through her satchel*>
  10. [18:19:02] Seona Mabella Tsuchi: <*pulls out a little notebook and starts flipping through the pages*>
  11. [18:19:02] Thakan'dar: Mmm?
  12. [18:19:02] Seona Mabella Tsuchi: Just trying to remember which type of fortune would be correct.
  13. [18:19:02] Seona Mabella Tsuchi: This is a weapon after all.
  14. [18:19:02] Seona Mabella Tsuchi: There's only so much fortune it can bring.~
  15. [18:19:53] Seona Mabella Tsuchi: You wanted to learn a bit about runewriting, right?
  16. [18:19:53] Seona Mabella Tsuchi: I'll try to explain while I do this.
  17. [18:19:53] Thakan'dar: That's correct.
  18. [18:20:44] Thakan'dar: Excellent!
  19. [18:40:22] Seona placed her notebook back into her satchel and then pulled teh blade closer. The blade was thin yet elegant in its style. It was a weapon truly made to cut through someone if not completely split them in two or remove limbs. Those thoughts gave her a better idea of how the weapon could resemble the rune that would also possess synergy with its bearer. However, the true issue was considering how Thakan'dar would be able to power the runes, but that was almost instantly disregarded when she considered what he had survived earlier. He was obviously a pretty powerful magi to have managed that.
  20.
  21. She raised up her index finger and allowed a thin streak of mana to flow into it. The mana appeared in its raw form of a blue ethereal light over her finger. "Runes can be pretty tricky. I figured that if you find a way to connect them not only to what you want them to do, but also to you as an individual, they can be pushed to do more. Synergy is something I find to be very important when it comes to runes. Also, you don't want to make a mistake when creating the impression of the rune, physically, of course." She explained to him.
  22.
  23. She touched the blade with her finger and it began to emanate an even greater glow as it was reflected off of the blade's surface. She moved her finger upwards in a straight line that was literally perfect. From there, she lowered her finger down towards just below the middle of the line and made a diagnal line that shot out an angle yet was still perfectly symmetrical. Next, she raised her finger slightly more and repeated the same procedure. The final product looked like a large, almost misdrawn, 'F'.
  24.
  25. "This is the rune Fehu. It also translated into Wealth and a few other meanings. Each rune has multiple meanings and can be taken any number of ways. This is a reason why most starting runewriters can't seem to get their runes to work. It's because even the rune itself is unknoweldgable of what it can do. However, just drawing the rune means nothing at all. The true drawing, or word spoken, is done through the mana. Runes are almost like a law, something that will happen and must happen a certain way without exception."
  26.
  27. She raised her finger from the blade and ceased her mana flow to her finger. She needed to ensure he understood it thus far before continuing on into her next step.
  28. (Seona Mabella Tsuchi)
  29. [18:48:03] The illusionist watched intently as Seona began turning the pages of her book, he'd seen the runes, yet didn't really understand what they meant, nor did he have the time to read about them before the next page was flipped. However after a short while, she stopped after finding what she was looking for, snapped the notebook back shut, and began to scry something onto his blade with blue flames.
  30.
  31. As she explained what she was doing, his eyes darted up to her and he nodded several times, continuing to listen intently, but quickly changed back down to where she had been working.
  32.
  33. "I see, so I'm to have my mana flow through my blade to utilize the full power of the rune? It makes sense, I believe I've read something about that before...That would make me the mana battery, correct?"
  34. (Thakan'dar)
  35. [19:14:30] Seona gave a smile to Thakan'dar. "Well, that's one way to go about it. However, using yourself as a battery has limitations. I tend to leave an opening within the passage which permits for an altering flow of mana. Instead of just pulling directly from the user, I imbue my own mana directly into it. This gives it a base charge to which it will utilize on its own instead of drawing for you, however, the more runes and more complex the passage then even my method will not be enough." She explained to him before she placed her finger onto the blade once more and began to inscribe several more runes.
  36.
  37. The runes were all placed at the same interval of time between each other and were lined up like a sentence meant to be read upon the blade itself, just below the rune. "I only place my own mana into the primary rune, mainly, unless the design calls for a larger source in which I place larger amounts of mana into each individual rune of the passage. The passage, or poem, is basically the parameters that have to be met. As in, the rune won't truly work until those requirements are known. When it comes to basic usage like this, however, I make it so that it is always active, especially for something such as fortune." With her explanation finished the runic passage was also completed.
  38.
  39. True fortune is not found outside, but it is found upon the inside. Vibrant winds and a clean stroke. From thy enemy fortune runs red as a sea never-ending.
  40.
  41. The passage explained that the blade would strike with fortune each time, hitting vital locations with or without the user's knowledge. The blade was given the command to strike true with each blow it dealt and to bring forth blood that could not cease from its enemy. Of course, the rune itself could never complete such a command, considering how never-ending could be understood, but it also meant that the weapon's ability would not capitalize on just that one aspect. It left it open for alterations later on.
  42.
  43. "A big note to understand. Once a rune has been truly written and is finalized. It cannot be altered or removed, only Divine Magic itself has such an ability. As I said earlier, runes are like laws. From what I understand based on the books I used to study there are runestones as well that truly hold the power of the runes. They are an act of absolution that -will- come to be. It's another reason on why it must be specific." As she finished explaining the rune of Fehu glowed a brilliant blue giving credence to the fact that the rune had been finalized and activated. It faded after a few moments as its purpose was not here and the parameters were not to be met without a clear target.
  44.
  45. "Though, do try to understand that runewriting is extremely dangerous and has a lot of applications. It can end severely for the writer if they aren't experienced or don't fully understand what they're dealing with. I found a few loopholes in my studies, but it's dangerous to use any of them. I do enjoy testing limits though!~" She finished as she slid the blade back over towards Thakan'dar. "It's not an advanced passage or rune or anything, but it'll help you in the future, I'm sure." She gave a smile to him. "I, honestly, want to do more to it later. I've just done too much recently to keep going. I can't let my mana reserves get too low, ya know.~"
  46. (Seona Mabella Tsuchi)
  47. [19:23:53] What he'd understood wasn't exactly incorrect, and it seemed that she appreciated even his basic knowledge in regards to runes, now that he'd taken a chance to read up on them a bit, no point in repeating the same mistake again after all. While his gaze was naturally on the young lady performing the scrying, he couldn't help but drift down to the rune, that once finished, began to glow with a brilliant blue light.
  48.
  49. As it faded away, he tilted his head to the side slightly and raised his brow, yet wrote it off to a lack of mana being fueled into it, as she had said that a constant flow was necessary, whether it be a charge to the weapon, or drawing upon your power directly from you.
  50.
  51. When she passed it back over to him, he raised the blade and did precisely that, charged the weapon. The task was simple enough, very similar to the technique he used to coat himself in a thin shroud of mana which caused him to fade into the background, though this time it extended out of his hands and twisted around his blade, causing the rune to glow gently as he slowly fueled it.
  52.
  53. His eyes remained fixed on his blade as he spoke, "I wouldn't ask anymore of you, if you're strained. What you've done for me already is a great service, and one that wont be forgotten." His gaze finally was shifted back to her as he ceased the flow of mana out of his palms and sheathed his blade once again.
  54.
  55. "And you can rest assured that I wont be taking the study of rune writing lightly either, not after...well...you know." He couldn't help but chuckle as he referanced his charred skin without mentioning it.
  56. (Thakan'dar)
  57. [19:26:27] {Item} You picked up A Resprited Sword..Dropped by Seona Mabella Tsuchi.
