Holy Weapon Exchange: Test

Like the burial chamber, this room has been hastily dug out.  It appears that the builder put more thought into what items would be in here than ensuring safety when traversing the jaggedly cut walls and uneven floor.  Hanging from a hook is a metal mobile with hammered discs dangling from it.
You also see an animite chest encrusted with soulstones, a diorite altar embellished with a gold rampant lion, a wrought-iron rack with blackened edges, a blazing fire and an opening in the wall.
Obvious exits: none.

Failing to complete the ritual in time will result in you having to wait another 365 days before you can make another attempt to switch to a different holy weapon.  If you run into problems with your holy weapon and the exchange program, ASSIST immediately.  If you assist a couple months down the road with problems, chances are you won't like the resolution.

~~NOTE~~ Your old holy weapon will be destroyed in the process.  Once ritual begins there is no way to stop it.  Make sure you are ready.

As the flames begin to rise, the token writhes slightly from the heat and begins to blacken around the edges.  The rack starts making the telltale popping sounds of cold metal heating up and the icesteel-inlaid flamberge placed in it begins to glow softly.

The token takes on the red glow of molten steel as the flames rise even higher around it, though never covering it, as if a barrier exists.  The flamberge that has been placed on the altar glows fiery red without any flames to be seen.

An unusually loud CRACK fills the chamber and in the fire the token has been rent in half.  The flames burst high into the air as the glow around the icesteel-inlaid flamberge intensifies.

As the flames die down to glowing embers, the token crumbles into a pile of ash.  The fire bursts forth again in one final flare and the glow surrounding the icesteel-inlaid flamberge on the rack pulses and fades slowly away.  A white glow envelops the flamberge on the altar and fades away slowly as the only sound to be heard is the soft crackling of the fire.

You look down to find your new holy weapon in your hand.

The two-handed grip and ricasso offer versatility in grip positions, while talon-shaped flukes protect the hand and prevent it from sliding down the blade.  Embellished with pale blue icesteel, the glaes blade glimmers faintly like moonlit ice.  Surmounting the weapon is a pommel set with a nacreous Imperial star bearing the initials "C. M."
