- [2014-01-15 13:39:12] <Kkat> 3Bookwright looks up from his notebook. "That was definitely the cipher. The full message is 'SCAVENGERS IN THE NEST HORIZONS GLOW IS NOT THE SETTING SUN'."
- [2014-01-15 13:39:19] <Kkat> 3Bookwright "...wow. That's really creepy. Gonna guess that 'nest' refers to the griffin's home, and 'horizons glow is not the setting sun' is clearly a reference to the detonation of a balefire bomb. So who are the 'scavengers'?"
- [2014-01-15 13:39:28] <Kkat> 3Golden_Dream frowns. She's gonna have to try to lean the Enclavers away from trying to go there. "Not like it matters anymore, anyway. Probably dead or gone now."
- [2014-01-15 13:39:34] <Kkat> 3Noble_Heart blinks and frowns. "What makes you believe that is clear? We could see that being a reference to many other things. Including fire." She looked towards Golden Dream. "Doubtful. If the message has been changing, it is likely that this Tragedy's End remains functional."
- [2014-01-15 13:39:40] <Kkat> 3From outside and up the stairs, Major Tripwire answers Bookwright, "That's easy. Whatever's been feasting on the corpse of the zebra lands."
- [2014-01-15 13:39:48] <Kkat> 3Bookwright "What? That doesn't make any sense. 'nest' is clearly a griffin term, why would it refer to the zebra lands?"
- [2014-01-15 13:39:54] <Kkat> 3Golden_Dream shoots Noble a glare. Come the fuck on, Noble, you're smarter than this.
- [2014-01-15 13:40:00] <Kkat> 3CopyCat shudders. "I don't like the sound of that."
- [2014-01-15 13:40:04] <Kkat> 3Bookwright sighs, and puts away his notebook. "Okay. So I want to ask you all: Should we turn off the maneframe?"
- [2014-01-15 13:40:10] <Kkat> 3Noble_Heart frowns and sighs quietly. She looks down to Golden Dream, then back to Bookwright. "We do not like the idea of abandoning her here to suffer like this. But We are uncertain that shutting down the maneframe would be a significant relief either."
- [2014-01-15 13:40:16] <Kkat> 3Bookwright "Whatever we decide, we should bury her. She deserves it."
- [2014-01-15 13:40:29] <Kkat> 3Golden_Dream looks at the brain. "Brings up an interesting point of philosophy. Can we really call that somethin' like that a sapient, sentient thing?" Yeah, okay, she knew some five dollar words.
- [2014-01-15 13:40:35] <Kkat> 3Major Tripwire looks down from above. "You said it yourself. Nest mean's home, right? Home for the source of this information would be Tragedy's End, right? So whatever... or whoever... has been down past Tragedy's End has finally made it up this far."
- [2014-01-15 13:40:41] <Kkat> 3Golden_Dream looks at Noble. "I don't think that's her. I think that's somethin' closer to a computer than anything."
- [2014-01-15 13:40:47] <Kkat> 3Tripwire grumbles. "Probably whatever drove the fucking windigos this way."
- [2014-01-15 13:40:52] <Kkat> 3CopyCat looks down. "I don't like the sound of that either."
- [2014-01-15 13:40:58] <Kkat> 3Bookwright accedes. "You're probably right."

- [2014-01-15 13:41:40] <Kkat> 3--- Session Begins ---
- [2014-01-15 13:42:46] <Kkat> 3Lieutenant Colonel Snowdrift checks around, "Everyone ready to get moving again? With luck, we can make forward base by daybreak."
- [2014-01-15 13:43:21] * Golden_Dream frowns. "I'm ready." No she isn't. She's antsy as hell.
- [2014-01-15 13:43:49] * Noble_Heart leans down to nuzzle Golden Dream briefly, before straightening up. "We are prepared to resume Our journey."
- [2014-01-15 13:44:13] * Bookwright stretches and yawns. "Yeah, I guess."
- [2014-01-15 13:44:23] * Shatara looks over the gryphon's remains quietly.
- [2014-01-15 13:47:46] * Bookwright catches himself. "But let's bury this woman first."
- [2014-01-15 13:48:49] * Noble_Heart looks up to Bookwright and nods in agreement
- [2014-01-15 13:48:51] <Noble_Heart> .
- [2014-01-15 13:54:11] <Kkat> 3Snowdrift recommends, "I suggest gathering the bones onto the bed and laying a blanket over them. This place is a tomb.
- [2014-01-15 13:54:16] <Kkat> 3"
- [2014-01-15 13:56:43] * Bookwright nods. "I suppose that would work. But I think Shatara should have the final say."
- [2014-01-15 13:57:44] * CopyCat shares the sentiment. "It would be the most practical solution."
- [2014-01-15 13:58:37] <Kkat> 3Star Dust nods, "um... I agree... it should be the griffin who says."
- [2014-01-15 13:59:24] <Kkat> 3Everypony turns towards Shatara expectantly.
- [2014-01-15 14:00:24] * Shatara shrinks a little as all eyes turn onhim. He looks around the room, for a moment, before nodding silently.
- [2014-01-15 14:02:27] * Bookwright nods. "Let's be about it then."
- [2014-01-15 14:02:50] * Shatara tries to find some clue to her identity.
- [2014-01-15 14:03:22] <Kkat> 3Lieutenant Colonel Snowdrift nods. "It's settled. Do what you need to do. Then convene at the door." She turns to her troops. "Up. Prepare to fall out."
- [2014-01-15 14:04:11] <Kkat> 3With that, the Enclave leave the basement, although Star Dust lingers a bit, watching Shatara. "I'm sorry." Then she too goes upstairs.
- [2014-01-15 14:04:21] * Noble_Heart carefully worked to gather up the bones and position them in a state of repose, then frowned. "We are uncertain where to find an appropriate covering."
- [2014-01-15 14:06:50] * Bookwright "A blanket will do. This is her tomb already. I think the only question remaining is, should we pull the plug?"
- [2014-01-15 14:11:39] * CopyCat looks up at the brain gently bubbling away, but she says nothing.
- [2014-01-15 14:12:11] * Noble_Heart moves beside CopyCat, gently wrapping a wing around her, but similarly doesn't have anything to add.
- [2014-01-15 14:12:34] * Golden_Dream looks at Bookie. "Again, weird as it is, that brain thing right there's just a machine at this point. I don't think it has a soul. It's not hurtin' anything. I don't see why we shouldn't leave it." She looks at them leaving. "Besides. The Roost might actually still be using it."
- [2014-01-15 14:13:46] * Bookwright frowns. "It still pains me. But all right. What's the name on her tags, again?"
- [2014-01-15 14:16:35] <Kkat> 3The dogtags had the griffin's Clan emblem and that of the Roost.
- [2014-01-15 14:16:40] * Golden_Dream shrugs. "I mean, think about it. Brutal as it sounds, think about it like a member of the Roost. Why th' hell would you leave a thing tellin' everypony exactly where y' went if you didn't want everypony t' go there? And if you have an enemy at th' time, what th' hell would they be doin' with you?"
- [2014-01-15 14:18:06] * Golden_Dream has a theory. "They must want everypony t' go. And if they want their enemy t' go, I don't think goin' there's particularly safe."
- [2014-01-15 14:19:19] * Bookwright sighs, and roughly sketches the clan emblem and the Roost emblem onto a sheet of torn out paper. Underneath it he writes, in serifed charcoal: "Here lies a Griffin of the Roost. Her Days are Over, She Rests in Peace".
- [2014-01-15 14:19:47] * Noble_Heart frowns. "Are the messages from this place not encoded? We were fairly certain the point was that none without that information could understand the messages." She sighs quietly. "For now, We suggest moving on. As sad as this day has been."
- [2014-01-15 14:20:11] * Bookwright floats up the exceedingly poor grave marker and tacks it onto the doorway into the maneframe chamber. "It'll have to do."
- [2014-01-15 14:21:00] * Golden_Dream frowns. "I still think th' place might be a trap. But that's prolly healthy paranoia goin' on."
- [2014-01-15 14:21:34] <Kkat> 3When Bookwright looks back from the doorway, he spies the ghostly form of Mare-Do-Well standing next to the bed, head down as if praying over the griffin's remains.
- [2014-01-15 14:21:59] * Bookwright sighs. "Right. Let us tarry no longer."
- [2014-01-15 14:22:18] * Noble_Heart frowns and sighs, moving to the doorway. She was prepared to move on from this place, and had had quite enough of the sadness it lead to.
- [2014-01-15 14:23:51] * Shatara hesitates a bit longer before following the others out.
- [2014-01-15 14:24:46] * CopyCat lowers her head reverently towards the bed and the machine before heading back out.
- [2014-01-15 14:24:46] <Kkat> 3As Shatara heads out, the ghost of Mare-Do-Well vanishes again.
- [2014-01-15 14:26:57] <Kkat> 3Minutes later, the group is back in the skies, battling the mountain winds as they fly with their Enclave escorts towards whatever location the pegasi are leading them. The snow has stopped. Below, cliffs slip downwards into blackness on each side of the barely-visible ridge that they follow.
- [2014-01-15 14:29:14] <Kkat> 3The Enclave move in closer, keeping tight watch on the group and each other, as the travelers pass through a cloud bank. Visibility drops to nothing for those without the benefits of E.F.S.
- [2014-01-15 14:29:58] * Noble_Heart does her best to stick on the tails of the enclave. But given the lack of visibility, that may or may not be easy.
- [2014-01-15 14:30:37] <Kkat> 3"Stick tight!" Snowdrift warns. "These clouds are hunting grounds."
- [2014-01-15 14:31:38] * Noble_Heart frowns. "Hunting grounds for what, dare We ask?"
- [2014-01-15 14:50:51] <Kkat> 3(Slight backtrack)
- [2014-01-15 15:00:34] * Bookwright addresses the enclave pony using the pintle weapon. "Er, Morning Glimmer? You know how to use that thing, right? We've got enough ammo for a short skirmish, but not for a sustained engagement."
- [2014-01-15 15:01:13] * Get_Lost back in the station, Get tried to learn something more of the brainputer architecture and to steal some of its secrets
- [2014-01-15 15:01:14] <Kkat> 3Get_Lost spent time studying the Blank Slate computer in the Final Echo Numbers Station, gleaning a lot of valuable insight into the workings of the computer.
- [2014-01-15 15:02:19] <Kkat> 3Given time and the right equipment, Get_Lost believes she can attack a functional brain to a computer system with reliable results now. Yay, Science!
- [2014-01-15 15:05:27] <Kkat> 3(/slight backtrack)
- [2014-01-15 15:06:03] * Golden_Dream frowns. She doesn't have /any/ ammo for fuck's sake. She needed her shells back!
- [2014-01-15 15:06:06] <Kkat> 3Morning Glimmer nods to Bookwright. "I've had three weeks basic training with these."
- [2014-01-15 15:06:25] * Bookwright peers into the opaqueness. "You may need it."
- [2014-01-15 15:07:11] * Noble_Heart frowns, she did not like flying blind like this. It made telling when one was about to be attacked very difficult.
- [2014-01-15 15:09:14] * Get_Lost is sitting quietly in her place, waiting for the wagon to arrive at its destination
- [2014-01-15 15:11:08] * CopyCat tries to be heard over the sound of wind and snow. "I have something that might help there." Her horn flashes and she casts a spell on herself.
- [2014-01-15 15:16:23] <Kkat> 3Through luck and skill, the group make it through the clouds without running into danger.
- [2014-01-15 15:19:44] <Kkat> 3Not long after, the sky begins to lighten, black fading to indigo, to a salmon orange-pink. Shattered Hoof Ridge is a thin, jagged line that rises about the clouds. The ridge is flattened, and the wind has blown the snow enough for the party to catch glimpses of the train tracks that travel along it.
- [2014-01-15 15:21:57] * Golden_Dream does not seem very happy to be heading towards the Enclave hub. Four Enclave pegusi made her life hell. What would Enclave central do to her?
- [2014-01-15 15:22:46] <Kkat> 3Through scattered cloud cover, the group can see into the shadowy bowl of the valley on the eastern side of the ridge. There, within the dark valley, lies a massive shape -- black and ominous -- dotted with hundreds of small lights: the Enclave's remaining Thunderhead.
- [2014-01-15 15:22:51] <Kkat> 3It appears to be grounded, and has been turned into a fortress city here at the top of the world.
- [2014-01-15 15:25:37] <Kkat> 3Shattered Hoof Ridge continues at an upward incline for a few more miles ahead, cresting a large, circular aerie -- a palatial stronghold right at the very top of the world. The Sentinel.
- [2014-01-15 15:26:13] * Get_Lost stares at the thunderhead in awe "wow, i don't know what i would pay to havethe chance to try and fix that"
- [2014-01-15 15:26:37] * Bookwright shivers. "I don't want to find out. I don't even want to go near that thing."
- [2014-01-15 15:26:52] * Golden_Dream 's ears flatten out. "I don't think you got a choice."
- [2014-01-15 15:27:36] * Get_Lost "are yo kidding me! that's... a mad scientist's wet dream! a damn flying fortress!"
- [2014-01-15 15:27:55] * Bookwright hisses. "I thought we were being taken to a camp! Not a goddamn mobile fortress!"
- [2014-01-15 15:27:56] * CopyCat can't help but smile a little. "I wonder if they will take us to their leader..."
- [2014-01-15 15:28:30] * Get_Lost "i want to see what its power source is, check its engines, studty how it flights, improve those guns!"
- [2014-01-15 15:28:54] <Kkat> 3Much closer, the party quickly spots a refueling station along one of the rare wider parts of the ridge. From the reinforcements and the figures moving about in black suits, this is clearly the Enclave's forward base.
- [2014-01-15 15:29:02] * Get_Lost "do you think they're recruiting?"
- [2014-01-15 15:29:05] * Shatara can't help but stare in awe of the massive sky battleship.
- [2014-01-15 15:29:19] * Golden_Dream stares at CopyCat. "Let's hope not." She then straight up glares at Get_Lost. "You shut your damn mouth."
- [2014-01-15 15:30:37] <Kkat> 3Just beyond the refueling tower and small station house is a larger building, designed with pleasant architecture and flourishes. A smiling, sun-shaped sign proclaims "Warm Welcomes Hostel". The hostel has been repurposed for a more militant function by the Enclave. "We're here," announced Lieutenant Colonel Snowdrift as she begins descent towards it.
- [2014-01-15 15:30:49] * Get_Lost stops talking but keeps staring at the giant fortress with dreamy eyes
- [2014-01-15 15:32:48] * Bookwright scowls. "The grounded (hah!) Thunderhead gave that away already. I want to do this and get along."
- [2014-01-15 15:33:18] * Golden_Dream wonders how this is getting across when her eyes are a visor. "Who says they're gonna let us get along?"
- [2014-01-15 15:33:56] * Get_Lost more than the visor, it's the drooling frm hr mouth
- [2014-01-15 15:37:03] * CopyCat looks at Get_Lost, shrugs, then she joins her in drooling. It looked it fun.
- [2014-01-15 15:39:39] * Shatara stares along with the mares. Sooo much dakka...
- [2014-01-15 15:40:52] * Golden_Dream does a double take at the row of droolers. Are they fucking serious? What part of this seems like it's a good situation to be in?!
- [2014-01-15 15:42:28] <Kkat> 3Snowdrift and the Enclave patrol lead and escort the wagon to Warm Welcomes. As the group approaches, several more Enclave ponies fly up, falling in alongside. Soon the group has landed in front of the still oddly welcoming facade of the hostel.
- [2014-01-15 15:42:45] * Golden_Dream grimaces. If they're lucky, they'll just be stripped of their things and enslaved. If they're lucky.
- [2014-01-15 15:42:48] <Kkat> 3Lieutenant Colonel Snowdrift is quickly engulfed in conversation, reporting the situation and (first and foremost) requiring care for the pegasi who were attacked by the windigos.
- [2014-01-15 15:46:33] * CopyCat smiles at all the new enclave pegasi. So many ponies to make friends with!
- [2014-01-15 15:48:37] <Kkat> 3A couple of the pegasi in the base stop what they're doing to stare at the newcomers. Especially Shatara and the alicorns.
- [2014-01-15 15:49:50] * Bookwright gazes at the grounded airship. He mutters to no-one in particular, "I never thought I'd see an Enclave Thunderhead, much less the last one, on moored to the dirt. It must grate against your unit pride."
- [2014-01-15 15:49:52] <Kkat> 3It only takes a few seconds for the younger pegasi who were attacked by the windigo to be met with and hurried inside. When the doors open, the interior of the Hostel appears warm and ... well... welcoming.
- [2014-01-15 15:49:53] * Golden_Dream does what she's always learned to do when she's confronted with a crowd of Enclavers. Shut up, look small and tense, and be ready to dodge. Her hooves are shaking. Fuck, no. Stop that.
- [2014-01-15 15:50:52] * Golden_Dream frowns. "Sh-shut up Bookie." Don't make it worse. Worse hurts.
- [2014-01-15 15:52:30] <Kkat> 3From behind them, coming from the direction of the station house, angry voice can be heard. The more keen of hearing can make out "...they send me the absolute dregs of the pegasi! It's amazing any of you fuck-ups have figured out how to hover without hurting yourselves!..."
- [2014-01-15 15:52:50] * CopyCat throws her mane back fabulously, all attempts at remaining regal in her Celestia-look forgotten.
- [2014-01-15 15:53:43] * Bookwright grits his teeth. "No bets that angry voice is the see-oh we're to speak to."
- [2014-01-15 15:53:57] * Shatara snaps out of his staring and shrinks behind CopyCat.
- [2014-01-15 15:55:02] * Golden_Dream stares at CopyCat. Ponies deal with a bad situation in a lot of ways. Golden was pretty sure flaunting it was none of them.
- [2014-01-15 16:00:31] <Kkat> 3The few minutes of waiting stretch out painfully before Snowdrift returns to the group of you. "Follow me," she instructs as the two Majors move to flank the group. Star Dust meeps, and waves a wing. "g-Good luck."
- [2014-01-15 16:01:51] * Bookwright "Hold a tick everyone. Let's have a quick skull session."
- [2014-01-15 16:02:49] * Bookwright gathers everyone in close. Then his horn glows, and he touches each one quickly. A thought flies into their brains: <Let's not be giving away what we're thinking to the commander, eh?>
- [2014-01-15 16:04:48] * CopyCat trots along with the two Majors, quite happy to be in front. <All right Bookie. I shall be the epitome of subtlety.>
- [2014-01-15 16:04:56] * Golden_Dream doesn't get in on that. Because it's a stupid idea for many reasons. One, Copycat could just relay stuff that was needed. Two, there is nothing that makes them look more suspicious than what he is doing.
- [2014-01-15 16:07:31] * Bookwright <Copycat can't think at Shatara. Be nice. And besides, this way we don't have to all go through Copycat to make our thoughts heard.>
- [2014-01-15 16:16:20] <Kkat> 3The Majors don't give you much time, pressing you to move forward as Snowdrift approaches the armor-reinforced front doors of the hostel. The doors open, letting golden light spill out on the snowy steps. Immediately inside, the entryway has been turned into a killbox -- metal pillboxes to each side and a heavy link gate over the far end.
- [2014-01-15 16:17:11] <Kkat> 3Beyond the gate, more guards stand at the ready with their battle saddles, silhouetted by the lamplight of the well-furnished lounge beyond.
- [2014-01-15 16:17:17] * Bookwright grimaces. <If they wanted us dead they had ample opportunity already. Just keep walking and try not to stab them with eyedaggers, Kid.>
- [2014-01-15 16:17:28] * CopyCat waves at the guards.
- [2014-01-15 16:18:13] * Golden_Dream tries not to show a spike of anger. <No promises.>
- [2014-01-15 16:18:29] <Kkat> 3One of the guards hesitantly waves back.
- [2014-01-15 16:19:31] <Kkat> 3The gate is opened. The group is lead into the hostel, hearing the heavy doors and clattering gate close behind them.
- [2014-01-15 16:21:21] * CopyCat turns her smile on anypony foolish enough to get in range.
- [2014-01-15 16:21:24] * Bookwright <Copycat, what's the mood around camp? How's morale?>
- [2014-01-15 16:23:06] <Kkat> 3Warm lamplight floods the hostel with a pleasant golden glow. Most of the furnishings are still here -- cushioned seats and couches, lovingly carved wooden tables and shelves -- their richeness worn with age. The wooden wainscotting and accents on the walls match the furniture, decoratively carved with hearts and suns and moons.
- [2014-01-15 16:24:35] * Golden_Dream winces. Her eyes were nearly mismatched pinpricks. It wasn't the surroundings. It was the anticipation that pained her the most.
- [2014-01-15 16:25:04] <Kkat> 3The windows are all covered in armor save for narrow slits, just large enough to spot through. Or fire through. Music is piped through speakers, filing the interior. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8wsDRNQIuyw
- [2014-01-15 16:25:27] * Bookwright <The hostile hostel still welcomes? What a peculiar feeling.>
- [2014-01-15 16:26:51] <Kkat> 3The group is lead to what seems to be a waiting room, complete with large (armored) windows, several closed doors and a crackling fire in the pony-sized fireplace. "Wait here," Snowdrift instructs everyone before turning and leaving. The two Majors stay in the room with you. You can hear the door lock behind the Lieutenant Colonel as she leaves.
- [2014-01-15 16:28:14] * Bookwright <And there it is, the reminder that we are not guests.> "Don't suppose we could get a warm drink? We've been bone chilled all day."
- [2014-01-15 16:29:12] * Golden_Dream looks around the waiting room, shrugging the weight on her shoulders. She had a plan in case things got bad, she just hoped the beginning and in between bits would work themselves out.
- [2014-01-15 16:30:31] <Kkat> 3Major Tripwire says nothing, standing still in front of the door through which you entered. Major Bloodstreak takes a position at one of the other doors, but you can hear her whispering something. A moment later, she looks to Bookwright. "There will be drinks soon." Then, hearing Tripwire grumble, she admits, "I could use one myself."
- [2014-01-15 16:30:36] * CopyCat nonchalantly looks at some of the funiture. <They are trying to be pleasant yet professional. Outside tempers are higher... but that may be due to the lower temperature.>
- [2014-01-15 16:31:01] * Bookwright <Don't risk it, Golden Dream. Between myself and Noble Heart, we can all teleport out of here at a moment's notice. I think I could at least get us back to the echo station, and likely farther. Assuming it all goes south.>
- [2014-01-15 16:31:31] * Bookwright sends a grumble to Golden_Dream. <Hah. South. That's the only way to go from here, given how far north we are...>
- [2014-01-15 16:34:36] * Golden_Dream frowned, and was overwhelmed by a feeling of dread. She realized that it's been over a week since she's even worried about making alcohol. Which is what she was ostensibly put on this planet to do. "Any good mash'd probably have gone bad by now." She murmured. The mention of South reminded her of Southern Comfort. She missed him. The thought ran through her mind that he'd come along and take...
- [2014-01-15 16:34:37] * Golden_Dream ...them away to safety and she wouldn't have to be out in the red middle of god damned Enclave territory before she just dismissed it as wishful fantasy.
- [2014-01-15 16:37:36] <Kkat> 3The soft heat from the fireplace fills the room slowly and sinks in, dissolving any last wisps of cold not already banished by CopyCat's magic, and leaving everyone with a gentle warmth.
- [2014-01-15 16:38:50] <Kkat> 3After being made to wait nearly half an hour, one of the other doors opens, Snowdrift appearing in the frame, her helmet off. "In here."
- [2014-01-15 16:39:03] * Bookwright is terrible at thought interpretation. Something about... alcohol. And... peaches?
- [2014-01-15 16:39:18] * CopyCat announces. "I am also here."
- [2014-01-15 16:40:06] * Golden_Dream sighed and shakily slunk into the door. "She said 'in'."
- [2014-01-15 16:40:19] * Bookwright stands up. "Ah, feels nice to be warm again. Almost forgot what that felt like. <Good thing too, there's only ten minutes left on this spell.>
- [2014-01-15 16:44:25] * CopyCat flattens her ears. But it only lasts a moment before they spring up again. "I can also be over there. That is a thing I can do."
- [2014-01-15 16:45:27] * Shatara blinkblinks. Wat.
- [2014-01-15 16:46:20] * Bookwright nods. "Yes, CopyCat. Let's all go over there, together." He walks to the doorway and peers in.
- [2014-01-15 16:47:25] <Kkat> 3The room inside is smaller but more decorative, with rich wood shelves and a large, ornate wooden desk. Three figures already occupy the room: the mahogany-coated pegasi stallion in a crisp military uniform who sits behind the desk, with Snowdrift on his right, and a dark-feathered male griffin in Enclave dress armor to his left.
- [2014-01-15 16:48:46] * CopyCat smiles at the room and its occupants.
- [2014-01-15 16:49:10] * Bookwright can't match CopyCat's thousand-watt smile, but he does his best to be appear genuine.
- [2014-01-15 16:52:30] <Kkat> 3Behind the desk is the flag of the Enclave. In one corner, a phonograph plays, the large, brass "flower" spilling forth another song by the same (presumably long-dead) musical artist as the music that fills the rest of the building. In another corner is a golden table with cups and a pitcher on a hot plate. The room smells of spice and pears.

- [2014-01-15 16:53:02] * Bookwright genuflects unevenly.
- [2014-01-15 16:53:21] * Shatara blinks in surprise at the presence of his fellow gryphon.
- [2014-01-15 16:53:56] * CopyCat bows. "Thank you for your hospitality."
- [2014-01-15 16:54:02] <Kkat> 3The stallion behind the desk nods. "At ease. I was told you would like a drink. I hope you don't mind pear cider. I'm all out of apple."
- [2014-01-15 16:55:07] * Golden_Dream takes a hesitant step in and sits down. The fur on the back of her neck stood up on end. <Don't drink it. Could be truth serum or some shit in it.> "I'm fine."
- [2014-01-15 16:56:38] <Kkat> 3The stallion studies each of you. The other griffin takes note of Shatara.
- [2014-01-15 16:58:02] * Bookwright shrugs. "Sure, I'll have some." <I already asked, they'd be suspicious if I didn't have some. Here goes.>
- [2014-01-15 16:58:18] * Shatara shrinks down a little.
- [2014-01-15 16:59:06] * Bookwright <Don't shrink, Shats m'boy. Your garish gear only makes you look sillier when you do. Puff out that feathered chest! Yore a griffin, remember!>
- [2014-01-15 16:59:14] <Kkat> 3The pear cider is pleasantly hot, and has a nice cinnimon spice to it.
- [2014-01-15 16:59:40] * CopyCat takes a glass. "Thank you again. I am rather partial to pears." <I did not sense any duplicity from him.>
- [2014-01-15 16:59:53] <Kkat> 3The other griffin gives Shatara a haughty look.
- [2014-01-15 17:00:02] * Bookwright "Mmm, that's nice. Some ponies swear by apple, but I've had good perry once in a while, and this is some of the best."
- [2014-01-15 17:01:04] <Kkat> 3The stallion smiles at that. "I do try to import the best I can. Resources are hard to come by up here. So we make equitable arrangements whenever possible."
- [2014-01-15 17:01:23] * Shatara tries to take Bookwright's advice beneath the other gryphon's glare.
- [2014-01-15 17:02:54] * Golden_Dream notably stays very still and silent. Her whole composure brings to mind a tensed spring.
- [2014-01-15 17:12:20] * CopyCat finshes her drink in an unprincess-like fashion and places the empty glass back on the table. "Most delicious. Perfect after the cold weather outside."
- [2014-01-15 17:14:14] * Bookwright continues to nurse his. "So. Down to business. The patrol we encountered when we were out there minding our own business insisted quite forcefully that we had to come here to meet with you."
- [2014-01-15 17:17:06] * Shatara picks up a cup and sniffs at it a little.
- [2014-01-15 17:20:16] * Bookwright <Not afraid of pears, are you Shatara?>
- [2014-01-15 17:21:36] * Shatara gets the mental image of a giant pear with a huge toothy mouth. <...No!>
- [2014-01-15 17:22:08] * Bookwright can see that mental image. <Lol, wut?>
- [2014-01-15 17:22:20] <Kkat> 3http://fc03.deviantart.net/fs9/i/2006/058/0/9/The_Biting_Pear_of_Salamanca_by_ursulav.jpg
- [2014-01-15 17:22:57] * Golden_Dream blinks. The fuck was that?
- [2014-01-15 17:26:24] <Kkat> 3"All right then," the stallion nods. "You know the score. You're here, and not because you want to be. You could try to resist the situation, and you might even succeed. But not without losses neither of us want. So let's be down to business. No bullshit. I'll be straight with you. You be straight with me."
- [2014-01-15 17:27:17] <Kkat> 3The stallion gives a straightforward stare. "How can you be of assistance to the Enclave?"
- [2014-01-15 17:28:57] * CopyCat tilts her Celestial head. "How would you like me to be of assistance to the Enclave?"
- [2014-01-15 17:29:33] * Golden_Dream just stares at the stallion. She exhales slowly. This is some bullshit. "Well, I can tell ya'll that tryin' t' set up shop with th' Barnstormers down in Nexus is a bad idea. And I can tell ya'll that yer folks back in Froggy Bottom have been dead fer two years now."
- [2014-01-15 17:30:38] * Bookwright sends Golden_Dream a spike of annoyance, flavored with resignation. "Why do you need assistance from a ragtag bunch like us? You're not that hard up for able bodies, are you?"
- [2014-01-15 17:33:53] <Kkat> 3The stallion makes notes of what Golden_Dream says, then eyes Bookwright. "You tell me. What do you have to offer?"
- [2014-01-15 17:37:51] <Kkat> 3The stallion stares at Bookwright for a bit, then turns to the others. "Feel free to speak up. Any of you. You are all aware of how this situation /could/ go for you. So volunteer another opinion. One more beneficial to all parties."
- [2014-01-15 17:39:01] * Bookwright rolls his eyes. "Alright. I can find information. Literally, find, as in scour a place top to bottom. I'm also better at using a magical energy weapon that most of you Enclave. I'm pretty good at test tubes and terminals too."
- [2014-01-15 17:39:40] * Bookwright gestures to Get Lost. "If it's a computer, Get Lost there can hack it. If it's broke, she can fix it. If you want to put a brain in a bottle and make it work with a computer, she can do that too. "
- [2014-01-15 17:40:33] <Kkat> 3The stallion smiles. "See. I think this negotiation is off to a good start."
- [2014-01-15 17:42:04] <Kkat> 3--- End of Session ---
- [2014-01-15 17:42:21] * CopyCat flutters her eye lashes. "Well I could-" Then when Bookwright starts talking she seems to suddenly realise that there are others with her. She catches sight of Golden_Dream and blushes. "I mean, err. Umm."
- [2014-01-15 17:43:23] * Bookwright catches a flicker of what CopyCat is thinking and it very nearly makes him permanently blind.
- [2014-01-15 17:51:59] * Golden_Dream stares at Copycat. <You know, for somepony that's really good with mind stuff, you really don't know how to control your own thoughts.> She grimaced. <I mean, for fuck's sake! I'm not- argh! That's nasty, Copycat!>
- [2014-01-15 17:52:20] <Golden_Dream> (Kidding, wouldn't say that.)
- [2014-01-15 17:52:40] <CopyCat> (lol)
- [2014-01-15 17:52:44] * Bookwright <Yeah, but you thought it! And we can hear it!>
