This is a very old, aggravatingly hard route from late 2009/early 2010 that was going to be used for the Any% Segmented run until it was determined to save too little time to be worth it compared to the "normal" route. The difference is that, while the normal route got the hookshot and scarecrow's song to get to the fishing pond, this route (known at the time as the "bean route") used a very difficult HESS rock clip in Zora's River to get beans early and plant them in Lake Hylia to get to the fishing pond without needing the hookshot. The bean route was estimated to be about 15 seconds faster than the hookshot route, but was so sadistically hard to optimize (thanks to a 10 minute segment that involved the HESS rock clip and a bunch of other stupid shit all in one go) that Runnerguy2489 considered it to not be worth doing.

Back in early 2010, I (being 14 years old at the time) decided that I was going to do an any% segmented run with the bean route in order to beat Runnerguy. Back then, I was absolutely dreadful at timing things (read: I would literally just do estimates and not actually bother to time things myself), so I would keep revising my timings for the route and arguing with Runnerguy about how much faster the bean route was. I talked about this shit so much that eventually Elminster made a script that would say "shut up ing" every time the word "beans" was said in IRC, and over time BEANS turned into a meme. There was even an IRC channel called #beans that me and Elminster made as kind of a private hideout. Today, few people have been around long enough to remember the glory of BEANS, so I am going to take this opportunity to stream this godforsaken route so that all of you sadistic fuckers can get your sick kicks out of watching me fail miserably playing a ridiculously hard route in a game I haven't played seriously for almost 5 years.
