  123. [Getting started]
  124.
  125. Q: What is this game about?
  126. There are many ways to describe it. I'll just quote some anons:
  127.
  128. > Fate/Grand Order is a mobile game based off the popular 2006 anime "Fate/Stay Night", by studio DEEN.
  129. > Fate/Grand Order has you, in the role of an alternate Shirou Emiya, commanding not one, but a whole team of "Servants",
  130. > ranging from old faces, such as Berserker and Saber, to new ones, such as Hassan-i Sabbah as Assassin. How exciting!
  131.
  132. > It's a game about wasting time. Everytime you login you gamble if your gonna get into the game or not. Then you try to
  133. > reconnect again and again, and before you notice it an hour has already passed. Your maximum lifespan is now decreased by 1 hour.
  134.
  135. > Explanation: it's a mobage. You collect cards, most of which will be shit because the rates for good cards are awful,
  136. > and you go through a storyline, and then you spend most of your time doing dailies for experience to level up the cards,
  137. > and later items to unlock further levels. Battles are turn-based and there's a rough rock-paper-scissors system in the
  138. > way that certain classes of cards are strong vs another type and weak vs another. As if the gacha rates for good cards
  139. > wasn't bad enough, game doesn't have a surefire way to accumulate currency for the gacha where you get good cards.
  140. > You must either rely on luck, them fucking up enough that they give gems as apology, or whale hard.
  141. > Oh, did I mention the gacha rates are atrocious?
  142. > Conclusion: if you want to play because it's Fate and you enjoy the franchise, be prepared. That's hell you're walking into.
  143.
  144. > It's about shitposting on /fgog/
  145.
  146. In case you still have any doubts, here's a quick gameplay video:
  147. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vWMK4YpibfM
  148.
  149.
  150. Q: Do I need to know Japanese to play the JP version of the game?
  151. No, unless you want to know the story.
  152. Knowing how to read katakana helps a lot with understanding the interface, although most of the buttons have an english label
  153. next to the nip label.
  154. You can learn in a couple hours at http://realkana.com/
  155.
  156.
  157. Q: Do I need a Japanese VPN to play?
  158. No.
  159.
  160.
  161. Q: Where do I get the game?
  162.
  163. --- Android:
  164. (You may have to enable "Installation from unknown sources" in the Security settings of Android.)
  165.
  166. Download it from Apkpure and install it:
  167. http://apkpure.com/fate-grand-order/com.aniplex.fategrandorder (JP version)
  168. https://apkpure.com/fate-grand-order-english/com.aniplex.fategrandorder.en (US version)
  169. You can also download the apkpure app to get automatic updates like on the play store.
  170.
  171. --- iOS:
  172. Through the Japanese/USA Appstore, you'll need a Japanese/USA account. Google it.
  173.
  174.
  175. Q: Can I play on PC?
  176. Yes, but the game will refuse to start if it detects being run on an emulator.
  177. The only emulator at the moment able to mask itself proparly as a phone is MEmu
  178.
  179. Here's a guide some anon made on how to install it: https://pastebin.com/WcC1LXde
  180. And here's a video guide from some other guy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PSsa0XqFP-M
  181.
  182. Remember to disable root in the options.
  183. If you get Error 43 Download the following file and run the game from there.

  190. How to play FGO on PC with Memu
  191.
  192. Turning on virtualization in your boot menu when you restart your computer for a boost in performance might be necessary. You can look up how to do this via google and enable it then. Mine was in CPU settings and had a description about how it was for running multiple systems.
  193.
  194. 1 Install Memu
  195. 2 Install this http://www.memuplay.com/blog/index.php/2017/03/11/memu-android-5-1-rc5-is-released/
  196. 3 Download this and extract it https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bw8bOUrdQCZRLS0xUkJoNTJXa00/view?pageId=109621090149292559075
  197.
  198. Alternate link if that one doesn't work
  199. https://www.mediafire.com/?zirsdmo38wuib2e
  200.
  201. 4 Open Multi Memu (NOT memu) and import that unrared file, this can take a while and it might sit on 99% for a bit but be patient
  202. 5 Open the bottom emulator on the multi memu list by selecting it then hitting start, you might want to consider going to settings gear on the toolbar there and doubling the memory to 2048, I guess it actively chooses how much of your memory to use and saving+restarting. Even more might be a better idea if you can spare it. 4096 would be want you want then.(Obviously if you don't have a lot of RAM then choosing to increase your memory would be a bad idea, but nobody should be having trouble switching to 2048 these days unless they're on a really low spec laptop IMO)
  203. 6 Just go to play store and download Fate Grand Order (English) from it and you are done. You can tell the English one from the Jap one if it says (English) OR its lacking the millions of downloads button when you inspect it
  204.
  205. I've done all this and it launches, it just says the servers aren't ready for us to play until tonight.
  206.
  207. Here's a video if this is easier for you
  208. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Gvd1dUuG2Q

  210.
  211. -- Reroll info
  212.
  213. data/data/com.aniplex.fategrandorder/files
  214.
  215. That's the destination
  216.
  217. Open ES File Explorer on Memu and then hit the white block near the top in the blue area, it has a percent on it. Then up above that there should be an address bar, at the very left of it hit the / symbol
  218.
  219. Then you should see the data folder, go into it and then go into yet another data folder, now scroll down until you find com.aniplex.fategrandorder.en
  220.
  221. Then delete everything in the shared_prefs folder and the *save.dat files in the "files" folder, then you just launch the game and try again
  222.
  223.
  224. Remember you can save your account by following this so you could use this for your phone.

  228.
  229.
  230.
  231. Q: I'm getting an error code on my phone with custom OS, what do?
  232. You can't play this game on a rooted phone. So you'll have to unroot it. Root hiding apps like magisk and
  233. ANRC don't work currently. There are two ways to fully unroot your phone:
  234. - Try flashing this auto-unrooter in recovery mode:
  235. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8e7Gjb1XkJ0eHozYmFoTHJFcEU/view
  236. - Follow this step-by-step guide to do it manually if the previous didn't work:
  237. https://pastebin.com/eEPQYTL8
  238.
  239. If after unrooting the game still won't start, make sure you've disabled adb mode in the phone's developer
  240. settings, then disabled the developer settings menu itself.
  241.
  242.
  243. ===========================================================================================
  244. [Beginner questions]
  245.
  246. Q: Can I transfer saves between iOS and Android?
  247. Yes, using a transfer code (aka binding code). See question below.
  248.
  249. Q: How do I get my binding code and restore game data? [GET A BINDING CODE TO KEEP YOUR ACCOUNT SAFE IN CASE OF FUCKUPS]
  250. Menu > MyRoom (6th button) > Second to last button
  251. Insert a password twice, then press the button. Write it on paper, just in case.
  252. To use it on another phone or after reinstalling, press the button on the bottom left of the title screen.
  253. Warning: Don't try to use your bind code while the servers are loaded (i.e. when an event just started), otherwise
  254. the binding may fail and you'll lose your account (check the recovery form help on the mega paste in this case).
  255. Binding codes are single use only, but they never expire until you use them.
  256. The binding code is a key, not a save file. The progress is always saved in the server,
  257. so you don't need to bind again each time you get a servant, level it up, etc.
  258. After using a bind code to recover an account all your servants and CEs get unlocked,
  259. so remember to lock them again.
  260. Guide with pics:
  261. http://fate-go.cirnopedia.org/guide_faq.php#transfercode
  262.
  263. Q: What can I do to make my account even safer?
  264. You can add a second layer of safety by making a backup of your game save files. You need android with root for this, though.
  265. The easiest way to do this is by installing Titanium Backup and making a backup of the game. This uses up a lot of space though,
  266. since it backs up the game assets too.
  267. The best way is by using a file manager with root access (I strongly recommend the app FX File Explorer with the Root plugin).
  268. Navigate to the folder "/data/data/com.aniplex.fategrandorder/files/" and copy the authsave.dat, authsave2.dat and signupsave.dat
  269. files somewhere safe (you can also copy the other files too, they keep information about which cards you've locked and stuff).
  270. Every time you want to restore your account, install the game and let it download the initial data, but instead of pressing the
  271. button to use your bind code, close the game and copy the backup files back to the game's folder.
  272. These save files work the same way as a bind code, you only need to copy them once.
  273. The advantage of recovering accounts with save files is that you can do it while the server is loaded without risking the loss
  274. of your account. Moreover you don't need to make a new code every time you restore your account, and if you ever fuck up something
  275. when copying the files you can still recover using your bind code.
  276.
  277. Q: How do I play with the same account on two devices?
  278. You can't play with the same account on two devices, unless they have android with root.
  279. In that case, you can follow the question above, then copy the files to a second device and restore them there.
  280.
  281. Q: What is rerolling?
  282. It consists in resetting the game data and playing through the tutorial again to get another chance to do the tutorial ten roll and the
  283. first quartz roll. It's usually done to ensure getting a good gold servant even if you have shit luck and end up never getting another one
  284. again, or to make sure you get your favorite servant.
  285.
  286. Q: How do I reroll?
  287. (Note: The method of deleting only the game's savedata to avoid redownloading the files doesn't work anymore.)
  288. Close the game, go to the app's properties and choose Clear data, or reinstall the game.
  289. You'll lose the account's data unless you have a binding code, which you may want to get to keep the account and hoard quartz on it.
  290. After clearing the data, start your game again, wait until it finished redownloading the game data and play through the battle tutorial
  291. and the two first battles, until the game asks you to do a free ten roll for your first servant(s).
  292.
  293. The Tutorial ten roll gives a guaranteed 4* servant, limited to the release 4* servants, and a guaranteed 4* Craft Essence.
  294. The 4* servants you can get are: Siegfried (Saber), Chevalier d'Eon (Saber), Emiya (Archer), Elizabeth (Lancer), Marie (Rider),
  295. Martha (Rider), Stheno (Assassin), Carmilla (Assassin), Heracles (Berserker), Tamamo Cat (Berserker).
  296. Not all the 4* servants here are worth starting with. The ones to go for are: Chevalier d'Eon, Carmilla, Heracles, Tamamo Cat.
  297. It's not known yet whether the tutorial ten roll can give any 5* servants or any extra 4* servants aside from the release ones,
  298. but probably not.
  299.
  300. If you are rerolling for a 5* servant such as Jeanne or Arturia, you'll have to do three more battles after the first roll, until you
  301. get a quartz. Then press back and reclaim a quartz from the present box (also check if you have more than one, which may happen when
  302. DW gives away quartz during events), and do a second roll using the quartz you have now.
  303. This Second roll is NOT a guaranteed servant.
  304.
  305. Any 5* servant is worth starting with. Most 4* servants you can get from this roll are worth starting with too.
  306. If you get a 4* servant, look for the name written on their card on this score list: http://appmedia.jp/fategrandorder/93558
  307. (Click on their names to see their pictures and make sure it's the right one. You can also use google translate if you want.)
  308. Any servant with a score of at least 8.5 is worth keeping.
  309.
  310. シュヴァリエ・デオン (Chevalier d'Eon, Saber class) is a particular case though, since she's a team-dependent servant made to protect
  311. other servants, especially berserkers. She's worth keeping only if you feel like playing destructively with berserkers.
  312.
  313. The usual strategy is simple: If after the two initial rolls you didn't get any servants worth starting with, reroll.
  314. There's also a second strategy, which involves rerolling only after completing Fuyuki, since it gives a reward of 20 quartz.
  315. This reward, together with the stage reward quartz, is enough for doing at least 7 quartz rolls, which I recommend doing all
  316. together the end to have a chance to roll Arturia Alter too (she's unlocked in the gacha by completing the chapter).
  317. This strategy takes longer in terms of rolls/time than the first one, though, unless you use a cheat apk (check the mega pastebin).
  318.
  319. Important: Using the cheat apk allows you to reroll more quickly, but if you make more than a certain amount of accounts (about 5) in
  320. less than an hour your IP will get temporarily banned. This ban is lifted after around 10-20 minutes, but try to moderate your speed.
  321. Rerolling with the second method helps with this aspect, since the rolls are split among a fewer number of accounts.
  322.
  323.
  324. Q: Can I get any 5* servant on my tutorial ten roll?
  325. Nope.
  326.
  327.
  328. ===========================================================================================
  329. [General questions]
  330.
  331. Q: Can I trade servants/craft essences?
  332. No, you can't trade servants or craft essences, however you can trade accounts by sharing the binding code.
  333.
  334. Q: Is there a scheduled maintenance?
  335. Not anymore.
  336. Keep an eye on the OP and the ingame news screen to learn of eventual maintenances.
  337.
  338. Q: Is there a way to make the game run faster?
  339. While the framerate can't be improved except by using a better device, you can download the full game data
  340. to avoid getting short pauses in the game caused by the game downloading the assets for servants or places you haven't
  341. seen yet. It also fixes some crashes (e.g. during NP animations) strangely caused by having to download those assets.
  342. Menu > MyRoom (6th button) > Game Options (3th button)
  343. Scroll down, press the white button and confirm.
  344. While the space occupied by the app after the initial download is around 150MB, and the usual space occupied after
  345. playing for some time is around 600MB, downloading all the assets bring the total to around 1GB, so make sure to
  346. have some space available in your device.
  347.
  348. Q: How do I redeem promotional codes?
  349. http://fate-go.cirnopedia.org/guide_faq.php#serialcode
  350. You'll need to know your friend ID.
  351. The process doesn't work while the game is in maintenance.
  352.
  353. Q: How do I change the servant in MyRoom?
  354. You have to finish Fuyuki to be able to do this.
  355. Menu > Card (1st button) > Formation
  356. Select the servant you want to use, then tap the heart-shaped button on the left side. It'll ask for confirmation.
  357. You can also do it directly from MyRoom:
  358. Menu > MyRoom (6th button) > Change Favorite (3th button)
  359. Select the servant you want to use, then confirm.
  360.
  361. Q: How long does AP take to regenerate?
  362. 5 minutes for every point and they regenerate completely every time your master levels up.
  363. You can also use a quartz or a fruit to restore them.
  364. Using this method may cause your AP to overfill, meaning that if you had 10/120 AP left
  365. before refilling you can end up with 130/120 AP.
  366. To refill using an item press the + sign next to the AP bar, or try to start a quest without having
  367. enough AP and you'll get a prompt asking you if you want to use a quartz or one or multiple fruits.
  368.
  369. Q: How do I increase the cost cap and the amount of friend slots?
  370. By levelling up your master. You get master exp by doing battles.
  371.
  372. Q: Can I discard/trash cards?
  373. Yes, you can burn cards for QP and Mana Prisms.
  374. Menu > Shop (4th button) > Burning
  375. You'll only get mana prisms by burning 3* or higher cards.
  376.
  377. Q: What's the lock button in the card info for?
  378. It locks your servant/CE in the level up and burning screens, to prevent the card from being accidentally lost.
  379.
  380. Q: Why did I get some extra quartz today, and how can I check my streak?
  381. Either there is an event going on, or you probably hit some cumulative login bonus.
  382. Also, remember that you're given some quartz every week for the consecutive login bonus.
  383. More details: http://fate-go.cirnopedia.org/guide_faq.php#dailylogin
  384. You can check how many days have passed since when you started playing and for how many consecutive days you've logged in at:
  385. Menu > MyRoom (6th button) > Master Profile (4th button)
  386.
  387. Q: What does great/super success mean when feeding cards?
  388. They can happen randomly, and they multiply the gained exp by 2 (great success) or by 3 (super success).
  389.
  390. Q: How do I change my master's outfit and use its skills?
  391. Menu > Card (1st button) > Master
  392. Swipe to the left or to the right, then exit while the desired outfit is being shown.
  393. To use the master skills press the button labeled Master during battles.
  394. Different outfits (Mystic Codes) have different master skills.
  395. You can also go to the outfit selection screen directly from the party screen by pressing the bottom left blue botton.

  399. [Battle related questions]
  400.
  401. Q: What's the difference between the three types of attack cards?
  402. Buster cards deal maximum damage and generate a few critical stars, but generate no NP charge.
  403. Arts cards generate a lot of NP charge and deal medium damage, but generate no critical stars.
  404. Quick cards generate many critical stars and an average amount of NP charge, but deal slightly lower damage than Arts.
  405. The higher the position of the card, the stronger its effect will be.
  406. The first card, though, will have a little of its effect applied to the other two cards too.
  407. This means that usually BQA, for example, deals more damage than AQB,
  408. even though the buster attack of the second chain is stronger than that of the first chain.
  409. Chains of the same card type reinforce the special effect of that card type.
  410. For more details: http://fate-go.cirnopedia.org/guide_faq.php#commandcards
  411.
  412. Q: How is the damage of Noble Phantasms calculated?
  413. Damage = Servant's Attack * NP Multiplier * NP Card type Multiplier * 0.23 * Class Modifier * Buffs/Debuffs
  414. NP Card type Multiplier = 1.5x for Busters, 1x for Arts, 0.8x for Quicks
  415. As you can see, Noble Phantasms work in a special way: They're not influenced by the first card's type nor by buster chaining,
  416. and their card position doesn't matter (unless when chaining NPs, see question about overcharge below), so their best use is
  417. usually as first cards, so that normal attacks get the extra power given by being in a higher position.
  418. Keep in mind that their card type does affect other cards when used as first card though, so while BusterNP-B-B is better than
  419. B-B-BusterNP, B-ArtsNP-B is better than ArtsNP-B-B in terms of pure damage, since the buster card in ther third position will
  420. gain the extra damage effect from the buster card in the first position (the NP's damage itself is the same both ways, though).
  421. For extra info and a NP comparison table: http://blogs.nrvnqsr.com/entry.php/3348-Noble-Phantasm-Rankings

  423.
  424. Q: What’s the benefit of higher NP levels and what is Overcharge?
  425. Higher level NPs have a more powerful main effect, which usually results in dealing more damage or,
  426. in the case of non-damaging NPs, having a stronger healing/debuffing effect.
  427. At level 2 and 5 you also unlock the possibility to fill the bar to 200% and 300%.
  428. This is called overcharge, and increases the power of secondary effects, for example Arturia’s NP
  429. refill after the Excaliblast.
  430. You can also overcharge by using various NPs in a row. The second NP used will have an extra 100%
  431. and the third one will have an extra 200%.
  432. Combine this with a 300% charged NP and you can reach up to 500% overcharge.
  433. Keep in mind that NP level and overcharge are mostly independent things.
  434. You can for example overcharge a lv1 NP to 300% by using it third in a chain of NPs.
  435. Another example: A lv5 NP deals the same damage whether it’s charged to 100% or to 500%, unless its
  436. secondary effect increases damage, like in Gilgamesh’s NP.
  437. For more details on individual NPs check: http://fate-go.cirnopedia.org/servant_np.php
  438.
  439. Q: Is there a way to know what attack cards I'm getting next?
  440. Yes. Read this short guide: http://i.imgur.com/I2LfTWA.png
  441. Special thanks to the anon who made it.
  442.
  443. Q: Is there a way to choose which enemy to attack?
  444. Yes. Just touch the enemy or its icon/hp bar in the top of the screen.
  445. When an enemy dies, the following attacking servant will switch to the first available enemy.
  446.
  447. Q: How do critical hits work?
  448. The critical system is based on critical stars, earned when your servants attack.
  449. Every time you press the Attack button, all the stars you got the previous turn are distributed among the attack
  450. cards, and each gives that card a 10% extra possibility of becoming a critical attack when used.
  451. Critical attacks deal double damage, and even more if the servant has any critical damage boosting skills, like
  452. archer servants' independent action.
  453. How stars are distributed: It depends on the servant's critical weight, the ability of that servant's cards to
  454. attract critical stars. Every class has servants with mostly the same critical weight. For example, riders have
  455. the highest weight and berserkers the lowest, so if you're using a rider and two berserkers most of the critical
  456. stars will usually go to the rider. Usually but not always, since, in addition to the fact that even factoring the
  457. critical weight the final result is chance based, every turn 3 random cards are given 50, 20 and 20 extra critical
  458. weight, giving lower crit weight servants the possibility to get more stars than others.
  459. Usual crit weights by class:
  460. Riders: ~200 Lancers: ~75
  461. Archers: ~150 Casters: ~50
  462. Sabers, Assassins, Rulers, and Mashu: ~100 Berserkers: ~10
  463. More details about crit weight: http://blogs.nrvnqsr.com/entry.php/3305
  464. You can check the precise crit weight of all the servants in their profile pages in the cirno wiki.
  465.
  466. Q: What are the main strenghts of each servant?
  467. Gold servants: http://i.imgur.com/yJKbXBz.png
  468. Silver and bronze servants: http://i.imgur.com/Np8W7fu.png
  469. Special thanks to the anon who made these charts.
  470.
  471. Q: What class is strongest against X class?
  472. Strong against a class means the servant deals double damage, and receives half damage from it.
  473.
  474. Knight classes advantage triangle: Saber>Lancer>Archer>Saber
  475. Cavalry classes advantage triangle: Rider>Caster>Assassin>Rider
  476. Beserker is both strong (1.65x) and weak (2.0x) against all classes (except Shielder), a true glass cannon.
  477. Ruler is a bit strong (1.1x) agaist other classes (except Berserker and Shielder) and takes half (0.5x) damage
  478. from them.
  479. Avenger is weak (2.0x) against all other classes. It's strong (2.0x) against Ruler and Berserker, though.
  480. Shielder is neither weak or strong against any other classes. 1.0x damage both ways.
  481.
  482. You also may sometimes see a <?> class icon. It's the Beast class, common in story final and semi-final bosses.
  483. It's strong (2.0x) against Knight classes and Berserkers, and weak (2.0x) against Cavalry classes and Berserkers.
  484. If you forget about the main advantage triangles, you can check them in the Battle Menu during battles.
  485. Every class has a slightly different base multiplier, which you can check at:
  486. http://blogs.nrvnqsr.com/entry.php/3298-The-Weapon-Triangle-Spoiler-Version
  487.
  488. Q: What do the various status effect icons mean?
  489. Check this list: http://fate-go.cirnopedia.org/guide_faq.php#buff
  490.
  491. Q: What are the three buttons in the Battle Menu for?
  492. The upper one is for retreating from the battle. You’ll lose the AP spent and any loot you got so far.
  493. The first circular one is for disabling the confirmation window when using skills.
  494. The second circular one is for making NP animations run at 1x even if the battle speed is set to 2x.
  495.
  496. Q: What are/how do I use Command Spells?
  497. You can use three of them to revive and completely fill the NP gauge of all your servants.
  498. You'll get a prompt asking you to use them when your party is wiped. You can also use a Quartz if you don't have enough CS.
  499. The left button of this prompt is for surrendering, the middle button is for using CS, the right button is for using a quartz.
  500. You can also use one to fully heal (not revive) a servant or fill their NP in combat.
  501. You can do this by touching the logo showing your command seals during battle to access the CS menu.
  502.
  503. Q: How do I get Command Spells?
  504. They’re refilled at a rate of one per day, at midnight JST, even during battle.
  505.
  506. Q: Why is my support's Noble Phantasm bar greyed?
  507. You can only use the Noble Phantasms of people from your friendlist.
  508.
  509. Q: Why did my servant or master self-skill miss?
  510. This usually happens when you're trying to give a servant an effect they already have, like dodge or
  511. resurrection. For example, if your servant has a dodge CE and you activate a dodge skill on them
  512. before the dodge provided by the CE has expired, then the skill will miss.
  513. There are also some self-skills that have a chance to miss, the same way as skills that affect enemies.
  514.
  515. Q: Why does servant X attack always my servant Z?
  516. Some servants, like lancelot, gilles and mordred, have a special feature coded into their AI.
  517. When they're your enemies they'll always attack servants with particular traits first, depending on the servant.
  518. Examples:
  519. Lancelot, Gilles, Mordred, MHX: target Saberfaces.
  520. Boudicca: targets Romans.
  521.

  567. [Friendlist related questions]
  568.
  569. Q: How do I get my friend ID?
  570. Menu > Friend > 3rd tab
  571. The number in bottom box is your friend ID.
  572.
  573. Q: How do I add friends?
  574. Menu > Friend > 3rd tab
  575. Input their friend ID in the upper box.
  576.
  577. Q: How do I use my friends' servants as support?
  578. They can be selected at the beginning of a quest.
  579. The list only shows people who are or were online moments before, and chooses between them at random.
  580.
  581. Q: How do I move the support slot to another position?
  582. Menu > Card (1st button) > Party > Second blue button from the bottom left
  583. Now you can move slots by pressing and holding.
  584.
  585. Q: How do I choose which of my servants are available for my friends to use?
  586. Menu > Card (1st button) > Support
  587. Choose one of your servants for each class.
  588. The ALL slot is best left either to Rulers and Avengers, or to your favorite servant.
  589. It's best to put your strongest servants in their respective class slots, few people look for servants in the ALL slot.
  590. The three blue buttons at the bottom of this screen are for emptying the list (servants only, CE only, everything).
  591.
  592. Q: How do I check how long it's been since a friend last logged in?
  593. Look at the number on the right, and the characters next to it:
  594. 分前 is minutes
  595. 時間前 is hours
  596. 日前 is days
  597. You can sort by date by pressing the top right blue button in the list until it shows ログイン.
  598.
  599. Q: Can I find the friend code of someone already on my friendlist?
  600. No.
  601.
  602. Q: How do I sort my support list?
  603. Press the blue button on the upper left until you get to the desired sorting.
  604. The default one is "Time since last login", but usually "Servant Lv." is more useful.
  605.
  606. Q: How do I reset my support list?
  607. If there are no useful servants in the support list for the quest you're about to do, the best way to reset it is
  608. running a cheap and quick quest, like the first free quest in Fuyuki which costs 3ap.
  609.
  610. Q: How do I change my nickname?
  611. Menu > MyRoom (6th button) > Master Profile (4th button) > Bottom left button
  612. The bottom right button allows you to change your master's gender.
  613. The upper buttom allows you to set your birthday's date (month/day). It can only be set once.
  614. During your birthday the servants you set in MyRoom will wish you happy birthday (most of them, at least).
  615.
  616. Q: How do I set a colored nickname?
  617. (Doesn't work in the US version)
  618. In the myroom name changing screen, write your name as [XXXXXX]NNNN
  619. Change XXXXXX with the hexcode of the desired color. Change NNNN with the name.
  620. Due to space limitations (16 characters max), the name can only be 4 characters long.
  621. Some people write their name in katakana to make it fit.
  622.

  625. [Shop related questions]
  626.
  627. Q: What are Mana Prisms (the green cubes) for?
  628. They can be used at the Shop to purchase EXP/Stat Boosters.
  629.
  630. Q: When are the items in the mana prism Shop restocked?
  631. The first day of every month.
  632. As for other things, you can check the countdown until the restock on the timer below every item.
  633. When the items are restocked you lose the possibility to buy any of the items whose timer run out.
  634.
  635. Q: How do I obtain Quartz?
  636. You get quartz after completing quests, apology presents when devs fuck up and by logging into the game every day.
  637. You can also buy quartz with real money.
  638.
  639. Q: How do I buy Quartz and why are there two types of Quartz?
  640. Menu > Shop (4th button) > Saint Quartz
  641. You'll see various choices. Each of them has a base quartz amount and a bonus quartz amount.
  642. While the bonus quartz are counted as free quartz, the same you get while playing, the base quartz count as paid quartz,
  643. which are counted separately. These paid quartz are the only quartz which can be used to roll some special gachas that
  644. appear once in a while.
  645. The only gacha of this type so far has been the "New Year's guaranteed 5*" gacha, which gave a guaranteed 5* servant
  646. in a unique ten roll made with paid quartz.
  647.
  648. Q: What are these three options I get when buying quartz?
  649. The first time you enter the store it'll ask your age, giving you 3 options: 15 or younger, 15-19 and 20 or older.
  650. If you answer anything other than 20 or older (the last choice) you'll get a limit on how much you can spend per month.
  651. You can reset the limit by reinstalling the game/deleting the app's data and restoring the account with a binding code.
  652.
  653. Q: What are Friend Points, how do I obtain and use them?
  654. Friend Points are used for the FP gatcha, which drops 1*-3* cards.
  655. You obtain FP by using friends' servants and when a friend uses yours.
  656. You can also get them as presents for daily logins.
  657. To use them in the FP gatcha go to Menu > Gacha (3rd button) > Swipe right.
  658.
  659. Q: Do summoning tickets (the golden tickets) ever expire?
  660. No.
  661.
  662.
  663. ===========================================================================================
  664. [Gacha related questions]
  665.
  666. Q: I can't do a 10 roll in the FP gatcha, why?
  667. There are two possible problems, both caused by the difference between your time zone and the Japanese one.
  668. - You have both the button for the single roll and the button for the ten roll, but you get an error if you press the second one:
  669. This happens after midnight in Japan, when the server expects you to reclaim your daily free roll.
  670. Do a single roll, then you'll be able to 10 roll.
  671. You can also change your phone's time zone to JST to prevent this from happening again.
  672. - You have only the button for the single free roll, and the 10 roll button doesn't appear even if you roll:
  673. This happens after midnight in your time zone, when the game expects you to reclaim your daily free roll, but until midnight in
  674. Japan the server will keep asking you for FP to roll, and the game will keep locked.
  675. You can either bear with it and wait until midnight in Japan to do 10 rolls, or change your phone's time zone to JST.
  676.
  677. Q: Should I use the Quartz I have now or should I save for a 10 roll?
  678. The 10 roll guarantees at least one 4* or higher card and at least one 3* or higher servant.
  679. The chance of getting 4*/5* servants and 5* craft essences is the same both ways, though.
  680.
  681. Q: What are the rarity rates in the FP gacha?
  682. They haven't been declared by DW (they're forced by law to declare the rates of paid gachas, but not of free gachas),
  683. but statistics have given these values:
  684. 1*EXP card: 11% 2*EXP card: 8% 3*EXP card: 4.5%
  685. 1*Essences: 32% 2*Essences: 18% 3*Essences: 6%
  686. 1*Servants: 8% 2*Servants: 4% 3*Servants: 1.5%
  687. 1*Fou card: 4% 2*Fou card: 2% 3*Fou card: 1%
  688.
  689. Q: What are the rarity rates in the quartz gatcha?
  690. 3*Essences: 40% 4*Essences: 12% 5*Essences: 4%
  691. 3*Servants: 40% 4*Servants: 3% 5*Servants: 1%
  692. The mostly agreed upon theory for 10 rolls is:
  693. One of the ten cards will have these rates (guaranteed servant):
  694. 3*Servants: 96% 4*Servants: 3% 5*Servants: 1%
  695. And another of the ten cards will have these rates (guaranteed 4* card):
  696. 4*Essences: 92% 5*Essences: 4%
  697. 4*Servants: 3% 5*Servants: 1%
  698. The other 8 cards will have normal rates.
  699. The guaranteed servant and the guaranteed 4* may be the same card in some cases.
  700.
  701. Q: Why are there two quartz summoning options and which do I pick?
  702. The first one you see, which has a red logo, is the Event gatcha.
  703. Scrolling to the right you can see the Story gacha, which has a blue logo.
  704. The Event one has rate-up for certain servants and the Story one has equal chances for everyone, except during some events.
  705. Check the servants in the background for the rate up gacha to know which servants have a higher chance of rolling.
  706. All the servants unlocked through story (so Saber Alter, Caster Gilles, Nero, Medea Lily, Lancer Alter and Tesla) are not
  707. in the event gachas unless the Gacha gives them a rate up.
  708. Moreover, event-exclusive servants (usually 5*) are not in the Story gacha.
  709.
  710. Q: How does the increased rate for servants in the gacha work?
  711. It doesn't increase the chances of rolling a 4* or 5* servant.
  712. It only means that if you manage to roll a 3*, 4* or 5* servant, the chances of it being one of those with the rate-up are increased.
  713.
  714. Q: Which servants are not available in the various gachas?
  715. - All the gachas:
  716. Limited servants. These servants are available only during special event gachas, and return either once in a while or never.
  717. Welfare servants. These servants are given for free during certain events, and only return during the rerun of those events.
  718. Jeanne Alter (Ruler) is in the game as an enemy but she's not in any gacha (yet?).
  719. - Story gacha:
  720. Event-exclusive servants from the current Event gacha are not present.
  721. New 3* servants are not present while they have a rate-up in an Event gacha.
  722. - Event gacha:
  723. Story-unlock servants are not present, unless they are part of the rate-up.
  724. Caster Cu is also not present for some reason.
  725. - FP gacha:
  726. New 3* servants are not present while they have a rate-up in an Event gacha.
  727. - All except FP gacha:
  728. Angra Mainyu, a 0* servant only available in the FP gacha
  729. (he's extremely rare, probably around 0.02% chance of rolling him)

  735. Q: After a battle my servants only got some blue squares filled, why?
  736. Those squares indicate Bond Level (their level of loyalty). Servants don’t get experience in battle.
  737. Bond level is used to unlock interlude quests, and for some servants a special Craft Essence when you reach Lv10.
  738.
  739. Q: How do I level up my servants?
  740. Menu > Synthesis (2nd button) > Servant
  741. You feed them other cards to fill their exp bars. Normally, EXP cards are used, but you can feed them other servants too.
  742. Feeding them EXP cards with the same class as the servant gives bonus EXP (1.2x).
  743. The same happens when feeding servants, which give as much experience as a 3* EXP card, times the amount of stars of the servant.
  744. You can obtain EXP cards easily by doing daily quests; check the question about them below.
  745.
  746. Q: What should I do with duplicate servants?
  747. Menu > Synthesis (2nd button) > Noble Phantasm
  748. Use them to level your Noble Phantasm (see the question in the battle section for info about NP levels).
  749. You can increase your NP up to level 5.
  750. If your servant is already at NP level 5, you should just burn extra copies for QP and Mana Prisms, or feed them to other servants as exp.
  751.
  752. Q: Can I choose the sprite of a servant I've ascended?
  753. Yes. Go to the servant's info screen, select the third tab, and choose one of the unlocked sprites.
  754. When you exit the servant screen your choice is saved.
  755.

  758. [Servant ascension and skill levelling questions]
  759.
  760. Q: How do I raise a servant’s level cap and unlock more servant skills?
  761. Menu > Synthesis (2nd button) > Ascension
  762. To ascend a servant, they have to be at the level cap and you need to have the required ascension materials.
  763. The first ascension unlocks a new sprite, card art and skill.
  764. The second ascension unlocks nothing.
  765. The third ascension unlocks a new sprite, card art and skill (only in servants who have three active skills).
  766. The fourth ascension unlocks a new special card art.
  767. All the ascensions raise the level cap by 10.
  768.
  769. Q: What are those red bones, shields and stuff for?
  770. They’re ascension materials (see the question above this one).
  771. They can also be used to level up skills from lv 4 on, but it’s usually not recommended doing it with rare materials.
  772. You’ll realize which materials are the rarest as you play.
  773.
  774. Q: What are the grails I received from the story and events for?
  775. Menu > Synthesis (2nd button) > Grail Ascension
  776. They're a material used only for the grail ascension, which raises the level cap of your servants. The max level is 100.
  777. How many levels is the level cap raised by depends on the current level cap:
  778. 50->60
  779. 55->60
  780. 60->65
  781. 65->70
  782. 70->75
  783. 75->80
  784. 80->85
  785. 85->90
  786. 90->92
  787. 92->94
  788. 94->96
  789. 96->98
  790. 98->100
  791. This means that the total needed amount of grails to raise a servant's level cap to 100 is:
  792. 1*: 11
  793. 2*: 11
  794. 3*: 9
  795. 4*: 7
  796. 5*: 5
  797.
  798. Q: How do I level up my servants’ skills?
  799. Menu > Synthesis (2nd button) > Skill
  800. You’ll need skill levelling materials, like skillstones (blue, red and yellow stones with a class logo) and materials
  801. used for ascension.
  802. At lv6 and lv10 the skill's cooldown time is reduced by 1 turn.
  803.
  804. Q: What are Crystalized Lores (the purple crystal cubes) for?
  805. They’re a skill levelling material, used by every servant to level any of their skills from lv9 to lv10.
  806.
  807. Q: Where does material X drop?
  808. Check the drop maps in the mega pastebin.
  809.

  812. [Craft Essences and Fous related questions]
  813.
  814. Q: What are Craft Essences?
  815. Craft Essences are cards you can equip your servants with to buff their stats or NPs or give them special skills.
  816. Here's a list with their effects: http://fate-go.cirnopedia.org/craft_essence.php
  817.
  818. Q: How do I equip/unequip essences?
  819. Menu > Card (1st button) > Party
  820. Touch the CE slot below a servant's portrait to enter the selection screen, choose a CE, then press the blue button.
  821. To unequip it, just select the same CE that’s equipped to the servant.
  822. Each party can have a different arrangement of servant/CEs, no need to switch them continuously.
  823.
  824. Q: How do I level Craft Essences?
  825. Menu > Synthesis (2nd button) > Craft Essence
  826. Same logic as levelling servants, except you can't feed them EXP cards. You have to feed them other CEs.
  827. The exp they give is a multiple of their number of stars, so feeding 4*/5* CEs to other CEs is never worth it.
  828.
  829. Q: How do I level Craft Essences past level 20?
  830. You need to ascend them by feeding them a copy of the same CE.
  831. After ascending a CE 4 times (as indicated by the 4 little diamonds below the level) its effect becomes stronger.
  832. For more details: http://fate-go.cirnopedia.org/craft_essence.php
  833.
  834. Q: Am I able to level up an essence after it has been equipped?
  835. Yes.
  836.
  837. Q: What are Fous?
  838. They are a special kind of card, which has the image of the squirrel-like animal on them.
  839. You can give them to a servant the same way you give EXP cards, but instead of giving exp they raise the ATK or HP
  840. of the servant, independently of their level.
  841. 1* Fou: 10ATK/HP. 2* Fou: 20ATK/HP. 3* Fou: 50ATK/HP.
  842.
  843. Q: Is there a maximum amount of Fous I can give to a servant?
  844. Yes. The maximum raise of stats each servant can have is +990ATK and +990HP.
  845. Both stats are one independent from the other, so for example you can give a servant 20 ATK Fous and 20 HP Fous.
  846. Moreover, every servant is independent from the others, you can raise the stats of as many servants as you want.
  847.

  850. [Special quests related questions]
  851.
  852. Q: What are the Daily Quests about?
  853. They are extra quests you can access from the Chaldea button in the main menu.
  854. You can replay them as many times as you want, and the first time you complete a specific quest you’ll get some Mana Prisms.
  855. You get 1 prism for the 10AP, 2 for the 20AP and so forth. The prisms are reset every day.
  856. The quests change at midnight (JST time).
  857. For more details: http://fate-go.cirnopedia.org/quest_daily.php
  858. Check the bottom of this pastebin for the list of daily quests.
  859.
  860. Q: What’s the best daily quest to farm pieces/monuments?
  861. Even if you’re only looking for pieces, chances are you’ll sooner or later need monuments too, which are rarer.
  862. That’s why you should always do the most expensive quest you can beat. Its rates will be higher both for pieces and monuments.
  863. You can check drop rates for dailies in the Class Daily tab of the drop stats spreadsheet:
  864. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1OTBmtHrL2c4szQetPKyUwClp1Tr9Km5GdM1t5YahJx4/pubhtml#
  865.
  866. Q: What are the Interlude quests for?
  867. They unlock bits of servant lore and give you a reward depending on the icon to their right:
  868. Quartz icon: One Quartz reward.
  869. Sword icon: Noble Phantasm rank-up for that servant (not a level-up).
  870. Seven dots icon: Skill rank-up for that servant (not a level-up). Some new interludes of this type give a whole new skill.
  871.
  872. Q: Why can't I start Interlude quests?
  873. The requirements change depending on the servant but they usually need to be ascended at least once and have some bond levels.
  874. You also need to have cleared the Story chapter the Interlude quest is in.
