Born in New Jersey to Frank and Juliette Vanderberg, a newlywed couple whom moved from Amsterdam to New York in hope to find a place. After house-shopping and house-sitting, they couldn't find a space to live in New York City, and moved to Newark, New Jersey, where they could get a mortgage to start their American Dream.

Juliette got pregnant with their first, as her husband got sent out by the Army, only to receive a letter three weeks later that he suffered a fatal shot to the liver which caused for him to pass away. She bought the boy up on her own, in tough times, until he reached the age of seventeen, when the adolescent boy enlisted to follow after his father.

After serving a couple years in the Army, he came up for re-enlistment and figured it was enough. He served years in the Army and never earned a medal, a commendation or anything, and thus was honorably discharged as a private. As he came back Stateside, he bought himself a Harley and over the course of months, got himself a place to live and a girlfriend. Vanessa. Time progresses and Vanessa is now his wife, and instead of burning love and desire for each other, they now fight on the daily, and are nearing a divorce, due to Devon's desire to go out, riding on his old Harley and not come back for days without a word.

It's late 2017, Devon just came back from one of his trips, and he came home to Vanessa, who's extremely disappointed. "You have to choose, me or the bike," she said, running upstairs to go to bed. Devon sat up that night, deciding what to do. By sun-up, Devon had made up his mind, got up, got on his Harley, and rode to the nearest Harley Davidson dealership, where he spent his, and his wife's savings on a late model chopper, sending a message. He drove it to the docks and had it shipped, bought himself a plane ticket from his last paycheck, and got into the plane to Saint Andrews.
