CON PACKING LIST

General:
>Registration ticket

>Cash. Get it from the bank, avoid ATM fees.
>Credit card (for emergencies, or not-so-urgent-emergency spending)
>Your ID, and other important cards (like medical ID bands and such)
>Phone, charger

>Small sewing kit for emergency repairs
>Umbrella
>Jacket
>Coat if winter
>Purse or small backpack
>Water bottle(s), reusable or just bring a whole damn case of water to be safe
>Tissues
>Condoms (if you might get up to naughty business, even if you're a girl)
>Regular medications
>Female hygiene, even if you're not expecting your period
>Chapstick
>Contact solution if applicable
>Earbuds or headphones

First Aid / Medicines
>Bandaids of various sizes
>Antibacterial ointment
>Gauze pads and wraps
>Tape
>Decongestant
>Ibuprofen
>Tylenol
>Asprin
>Excedrine if you're prone to migraines like I am
>Aleve if you're prone to joint pain
>Antihistamine (like Benadryl)
>Pepto Bismol (they make this in swallowable pills, I highly recommend)
>Immodium (works better for runs than pepto usually, can continue to take it until it works, no OD chance)
>Prescriptions meds
>Eyedrops (go for general moisturizing drops if you don't have allergies, they'll usually get the job done without stinging)

Clothing and Junk
>Your clothes for however many days
>At least 2-3 extra sets of clothes
>Don't forget your underwear and socks
>Sneakers or comfy walking boots
>Flip flops if desired
>Swimsuit if the hotel has a pool
>Beach towel for pool
>Way more underwear than you think you need
>Accessories
>Hair ties / bobby pins / wig caps
>Makeup
>Contacts
>SLEEPY CLOTHES. You don't want to sleep in your con funk or con in your sleep funk
>Shampoo / conditioner
>Body wash / soap (seriously hotel soaps are awful)
>Perfume (don't use too much, please, you could cause an asthma attack)
>Toothbrush & paste
>Face washes or makeup remover or whatever
>Floss
>Mouthwash
>Fabreeze (spray your cosplay, hang it in the bathroom while you shower to make sure it doesn't smell)
>DEODORANT. PLEASE.
>Razor
>Tweezer

Commodities (may or may not be provided by the hotel. Check before packing, or just bring 'em anyway)
Can sometimes be bought in the hotel shop.
>Towel & washcloth
>Pillow / blankets (I don't like using hotel bedding so I always bring these)
>Sleeping bag if desired
>Earplugs in case of loud neighbors or roommates
>Sleep mask if desired
>Ambient noisemaker if desired (I use an app on my ipod and a small speaker)
>POWER STRIP. BRING ONE.
>Brush / comb
>Nail clippers / file
>Trash bags in case you fill the tiny little cans
>Hair styling tools & hairspray
>Batteries for your devices
>Snacks n' food
>Clothing hangers
>Cooler (check ahead if there's a mini fridge. If there's not, avoid foods that will spoil if they get too warm)
>Lint roller
>Separate bag (trash bag also works) for dirty clothing
>TAPE. Duct tape, electrical tape, I bring both.
>Rubber bands

Cosplay Stuff:
>Your cosplay. Duh.
>Cosplay accessories
>Wigs
>Wig caps
>Bobby pins
>Safety pins
>Sewing kit (make sure there's matching threads and spare buttons or other small details)
>Scissors
>Hot glue & gun
>Super glue
>Clear nail polish
>Double sided tape
>Eyelash glue (also works on pasties)
>Tide to Go
>An iron if you want

Extras
>DS/Gameboy/Whatever hipster shit you play
>Deck of cards
>Specialized card game cards like Pokemon or Magic if desired
>Notebook / drawing pad and pencils / pens
>Business or contact cards
>Book(s)
>Your computer / tablet / ipod or whatever and chargers.
>Booze if you want it
>Flashlight in case


If you're attending a winter con, and it's a decent drive (or it's a smaller con at a place which might not have a generator) ALWAYS bring an emergency winter kit (Blankets, water, food, heat source, light source, cat litter or sand to grip the road) and BE CAREFUL. It's worth your life to show up late. If it's a summer con make sure you don't get overheated. Lots of water, and stay cool! Heat stroke is good for nobody, especially far from home.

Always remember your epipen if you have life-threatening allergies, even if it's something like a bee and it's winter. You never know what could happen, and it's better to be safe than sorry.
