  60. | 00000257 | 10000076 | 2006-12-02 | Patrick Stoddard | Before the Superstition Hamfest, I tested a portable 2m/70cm FM satellite station that would be used for the satellite demonstrations, including an external speaker to allow onlookers to hear all the activity. I used my PREDICT program to generate pass predictions for AO-51 and VO-52, although I only ended up using AO-51 for the demonstrations. I also adapted a flyer created by Clint Bradford K6LCS on how to work AO-51 with an HT, with some information specific to the Phoenix AZ area. While at the hamfest, I (along with Gerry Baker VE4GTB/KD7MDB and Larry Brown W7LB) manned the AMSAT table selling merchandise and answering questions. I did 2 demonstrations during AO-51 passes, and we had crowds around the table listening to the downlink while I made contacts - 10 on the first pass, 3 on the later pass. | 20.00 | Co-organizer | 9.00 | 2006-12-01 | 180.00 | wd9ewk@amsat.org | Superstition Hamfest (Mesa AZ) | This was the first time I was a part of an AMSAT activity, and I had fun! 70. | 00000267 | 10000076 | 2007-01-13 | Patrick Stoddard | Before this hamfest, I prepared pass predictions for the AO-51 and SO-50 satellites and sent a request to the AO-51 Operations Group via e-mail (ao51-modes@amsat.org) requesting either the normal V/U FM repeater or the V/S FM repeater configuration for AO-51. I printed 50 copies of 2 different flyers for the AMSAT table, along with the AMSAT materials Gerry Baker VE4GTB/KD7MDB brought to the hamfest. \r\n \r\nWhile at the hamfest, Gerry and I answered questions throughout the morning, and I was able to demonstrate satellite operating on 4 different passes (2 each on AO-51 and SO-50). I made 17 contacts with stations across the USA, Canada, and Mexico. \r\n | 20.00 | Co-organizer | 10.00 | 2007-01-10 | 200.00 | wd9ewk@amsat.org | Thunderbird ARC Westfest (Glendale AZ) | I will make a presentation at this club's meeting on 15 March 2007, talking about AMSAT and satellites. \r\n | WD9EWK | 1169664807 |
