  1. Alright. Here we have it, my potato to end all others. Think of this as the Neo-centric version of Part's Golden Potato, as both involve alternate timelines and Raven.
  2.
  3. First here's an overview of the characters:
  4.
  5. Neo: Can create illusionary "clones", teleport large distances instantly, is functionally mute but possesses the ability to speak according to Monty. Has same necklace as Raven and Coco. OP as fuck.
  6.
  7. Raven: Dead-set on killing Neo. Literally a recolored Yang under the mask. Appears to speak to Yang in some sort of dream or pocket dimension, wants to inform her about a ton of important shit. Can open and close portals to some other realm at will. Has same necklace as Neo and Coco. OP as fuck.
  8.
  9. Coco: Has same necklace as Neo and Raven. Weapon literally defies the laws of spacetime by compressing itself into a tiny handbag that makes no sense and never runs out of ammo. OP as fuck, even moreso than Neo and Raven.
  10.
  11. Neo has only showed up in situations where she has the ability to kill Yang and attempted to slaughter her in cold blood while smiling. Raven appeared only to kill Neo and protect Yang, and Neo had not met Raven until she appeared during her fight with Yang.
  12.
  13. All of these scenarios involve OP characters, altering spacetime or dimensions, and the exact same necklace.
  14.
  15. Raven wants to kill Neo who wants to kill Yang. Coco is OP as fuck. Raven told Yang some super important shit. Here's my crazy wild potato theory:
  16.
  17. The necklace which Coco possesses is the true source of her power. It is forged from a deadly combination of pure Dust and is imbued with the ability to manipulate spacetime, essentially allowing for the ability to fuck with dimensions and time. Coco is unaware of its full power and simply uses it to manifest her minigun from the handbag, thinking of it as some sort of D&D bag of holding.
  18.
  19. Raven is Yang, originating from some parallel universe or timeline. Note how Yang's eyes turn red when she is in her berserk mode, and her hair is burning on fire. Raven is the result of that rage going over the edge in her AU. Her eyes are now permanently stained red and her hair is charred black from the raging fire that consumed it.
  20.
  21. What Raven tells Yang is the above, plus that Coco is in possession of the necklace, and informs Yang of its power, explaining how Raven uses it to create the pocket dimensions and transport herself between her universe and Yang's universe at will. She tells Yang to kill Coco and retrieve the necklace for her own usage.
  22.
  23. What she doesn't tell Yang is that the reason she needs to kill Coco and obtain the necklace is to avoid a dire fate. In Raven's universe, Coco used the necklace to fuck up something big time. Maybe she betrayed Beacon over to Cinder's faction, maybe she failed in the Breach, who knows. Anyways, Raven's universe was fucked up, and by the time Raven got around to killing Coco (note that Raven's killing of Coco is the act that pushed her berserk rage past the limit and changed her hair and eyes) and obtaining the necklace, she discovered the existence of the AU in which RWBY takes place. Raven needs Yang to secure the necklace in her reality and destroy it in order to prevent the events that occurred in Raven's AU timeline from happening again in Yang's world.
  24.
  25. But there's a snag, you see. Because the presence of Raven in Yang's world is an anomaly breaking the normal flow of spacetime, a glitch in the system has appeared--Neo. Neo is single-mindedly devoted to killing Yang at all costs and takes great pleasure in fighting her. She relishes and enjoys battle. This is because she was "programmed" to--Neo is an artificial human produced by whatever entities govern the RWBY universe, or perhaps as a sort of antibody created by the universe itself (like Hakumen in Blazblue). She doesn't speak because as an artificial being, she has not learned human languages yet. The reason her eyes constantly change color, shifting like they do, and where she gains the ability to teleport like she does is because she is constantly phasing in and out of reality. Neo exists in multiple dimensions at once. One universe's Neo has brown eyes, another has pink, another pure white. Same with her hair. These features phase in and out because Neo exists in multiple worlds at once.
  26.
  27. As well, Neo's "illusions" are not illusions at all, but in fact AU versions of her that she summons as cannon fodder (as they are simply extensions of herself, rather than different people, due to her existing in multiple universes at once).
  28.
  29. Also note Neo's name -- It's not Neapolitan like the ice cream itself, but NeOpolitan. Her nickname is Neo. Neo originates from the Greek meaning "New", because she is a newly created being, and a new feature of the timelines not originally existing.
  30.
  31. Neo has the necklace because her goal is to hunt down the other bearers of it. It's more of she was kinda...how do I put this...it's a symbol of her goal, not the actual necklace.
  32.
  33. Raven is attempting to kill Neo in order to keep the timelines stable and return things to "normal". Neo is attempting to kill Yang so that only one Yang exists in each timeline at once. She is basically a construct of order trying to get rid of "undesireable" or "imperfect" elements that alter the timelines. Note how Neo is all about class, perfection, and elegance, and she's haughty. This fits with her ultimate goal. Neo targets the RWBY universe's Yang rather than Raven as Raven is too powerful due to having the necklace, while Yang is weak and can be killed off early before she obtains the necklace in her timeline.
  34.
  35. Some may ask, what is Neo doing with Roman's faction? Well, she's pretty much only in it so she has an excuse to kill Yang. She didn't show up in the open in combat until Yang presented herself in battle, instead remaining back in Roman's HQ and teleporting in to confront Yang. She wasn't protecting Roman, she was jumping in to kill Yang.
  36.
  37. What will things go from here? Neo will try and kill Yang, Raven will try and kill Neo, Yang will try and kill Coco. If this insane theory turns out to be true (which I doubt, it's literally potato after all) I can only leave it up to the writers to determine where it goes from here.
  38.
  39. Oh, and speaking of Neo as Hakumen, here's Hakumen's fucking badass theme music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wriuJZN2T5M
