ok from oldest to youngest

onew: he's the leader and he's the oldest (born in 1989) umm out of all the members hes the hardest to give a personality to because like he's very reserved and private? like he has an "image" he used to stick to but he's sorta dropped it these days and acted more like himself. but he's really polite and nice and he's a bit of a loner and homebody and the other members complain about it becuz they always ask him to hang out with them but he just prefers going out alone or staying in. i think he said once that he's like that because he was an only child and his parents were never around a lot because they worked full time. but he's the "funny" one of the group and he's really weird too like his tweets are always like riddles and korean fans & the fans who translate them to us are always confused @ what he tweets lol. he's also really nerdy and was an overachiever in school. he stans for beyonce.
problematic things he's done: when he danced the macarena he drew on a mustache & chest hair and wore a sombrero (mocked mexicans) and asked another korean idol why he was so dark (itd take like an essay to explain colorism in korea but basically if you're a a tanned korean you're gonna get comments about your skin) (theres a lot of racism/colorism in s.korea they adopted from america)(when i say any of the members are colorist its never against like people of other races? they make colorist comments about koreans) (so idk)

jonghyun: (born in 1990) he's so social justice lmao he has a radio show and sometimes he talks about things like gender roles and homosexuality (all in a positive light) which is really sorta :o cuz korea is still really homophobic/transphobic/sexist. he's my least favorite member (not that i hate him) i just idk dont like him he annoys me and i cant explain it. he talks a lot and is really confident but apologises a lot? he takes of his shirt a lot
problematic things he's done: mm he laughed at racist jokes and said he wanted a pale girlfriend (which sorta ties in with the whole colorism thing korea has got going on) (but thats 4 u to judge) he's also fat shamed

key: (born 1991) his personality is very.... loud..... like he's really blunt and straight forward and because of that he can be really sort of mean sometimes? like there have been times where i was just like wtf that was such a mean thing to say ?? even tho i cant say shit lol but despite that he's really sort of fragile and picks on himself a lot? like i think he overcompensates with the bluntness/confidence to hide how unconfidenceness (otp talk but hehe onew always compliments key whenever he says something bad about himself like key would be like "i look ugly without makeup" and onew would be like "but you're pretty" and they do this a lot hehehehehehe) but once there was a fan that uploaded pics of her self harm marks and scars and wrote really suicidal stuff on her ig page and she was a key fan and key found her profile and left her a huge message in his broken english and he told her that he's been in her position before and that she needs to be strong and i thought that was so ;;;;;;;;;;;;; fugk. key is my second favorite after onew. also he's hinted a lot that he could be not straight quite a bit? i remember reading a compliation of "evidence" to why people think key is gay/non-straight so thats interesting
problematic things he's done: he fatshamed his friend and he's fatshamed himself ? idk if fatshaming youself would count but.. he also made a possibly (it was imo) racist joke (he said something like he thought taemin was usher because of his big lips and tanned skin)

minho: (born in 1991) minho tries to act manly and a lot of fans see him that way but he really is like a big pink fuzzy ball of cute? likes hes a irl princess who has abs. he's super obsessed with sports and he's played sports on a professional level? he's friends with lots of korean athletes and he wanted to be a soccor player before he wanted to be in shinee. he's really competitive and always beats himself up whenever he loses stuff which im like :( :/ at but umm yeah. shinee is like his pride n joy nobody loves shinee more than minho does he talks about the members as if theyre gods or something LMAO he's just really nice and really sincere
problematic things he's done: he's said some entry level sexist stuff. nothing too harsh but shit i was like ://// at. he's also fatshamed

taemin: (born in 1993) he's the youngest (in korean they call the youngest of groups "maknae/magnae") so he gets referred to as "maknae taemin" a lot. the other members are older than him (him and onew are 4 years apart) so they used to coddle him a lot (when shinee debuted taemin was in middle school) but he really hates that. he's really emo and angsty and he listens to rock bands and whenever theyre not performing/on tv he looks like he doesnt make any effort whats so ever to wear good clothes or brush his hair he's so #grunge n shit. he's super christian tho so idk. he always looks like he has no emotions but he just really doesn't know how to talk to people. the members said when the cameras are off he's very talkative
