  1. Kuuruuun (Umuu's species)
  2.
  3. Standing at an average of three and a half to four metres tall and covered in short, soft fur. They possess one pair of legs, connected to their first set of large arms with a bat-like membrane acting as a wingsuit, allowing them to glide on the mild currents and low gravity of their homeworld. The two large arms that connect to the membrane lacks opposable thumbs, and are therefore poor at manipulation, instead they favour the pair of shorter arms attached to their torso just underneath their chests.
  4. The "wings" do not allow for proper flight, but their powerful legs allow them to launch into powerful leaps, allowing them to glide effortlessly between trees far distances apart.
  5.
  6. As a Kuuruun grows older, their symbiotic relationship with the flora of their world deepens, and several species of plantlife begin taking growth on their body, making the elders of the species appear more plant than creature. The relationship is beneficial for the Kuuruun as well as many of the plants provide nutrients from photosynthesis as well in recent generations as acting as markers of status and beauty.
  7.
  8. The Kuuruun are strictly herbivores, and see themselves as caretakers of their planet. As a result they never even considered burning materials for fuel or energy, and all their scientific advances have been majorly biological in nature, including a bioelectrical generator (Functional, although the energy output is the same as a coal burner ten times as small).
  9. The complete absence of Carnivores on the planet, and the lack of any major environmental hazards combined with their peaceful mindset that rarely produces criminals from individuals has left them without any form of military or even law enforcement.
  10. Any disputes, rare as they are, are brought before the elders, who if necessary consult the sages, who act both as scientists, teachers, philosophers and government to the Kuuruun
  11.
  12. Kuuruuna (Home of the Kuuruun)
  13. Kuuruuna is by the Dominions classification system a class four world, it lacks any form of hostile plant or wildlife, but the planets winters get cold enough for water to actually freeze at its coldest. Due to the elliptical orbit of the planet however, the winter only lasts for about a month, with drawn out spring and autumn seasons and a very long summer.
  14. The Orbit of the planet takes roughly the same time as earth to complete one cycle, but its rotation is far slower, leading to a single day/night cycle lasting 40 Terran hours.
  15. The presence of three moons orbiting the planet combined with the mild climate leads to very well illuminated nights for most of the time, most species on the planet have no need to be inactive during night as a result, as visibility is excellent even to those without evolved nightvision. This leads to what appears like erratic sleep-cycles to an outsider, while in reality, most species sleep at specific times of the day, which usually do not coincide with other species cycles.
  16.
  17. The planet is at the fringes of explored galactic civilization and "officially" not yet discovered(As of the start of the story, 10BV). The Corti however, have marked it as a planet of interest for future research, which explains one of their vessels crashing onto the surface.
  18.
  19.
  20. Native Flora and Fauna
  21.
  22. The gigantic trees that cover most of the planets surface makes any kind of fierce winds possible, and only on the few, vast open plains do they pick up any sort of speeds, but rarely more than what equates to a stiff breeze by human standards.
  23. The trees themselves grow the massive Suurus fruit, roughly the size of watermelons, these fruit are mostly made of water with a thin membrane around them and a layer of mushy fruit meat just inside the membrane. With the lack of many rivers and lakes in many of the woods, they provide the main source of water for fruits and animals alike, drawn by the massive trees deep roots from underground reservoirs several hundred meters underground.
  24.
  25. Many generations of nurturing by the Kuuruun have also rendered the massive leaves of the trees edible, with roughly the same nutritional value of lettuce. The vast amount of them provides a virtually endless source of food for airborne and tree-climbing creatures, though the lack of nutrients means that the creatures who graze only on the leaves do little to nothing else, often neglecting to move entirely when in a thicket of leaves.
  26.
  27. The planet has a wide array of creatures that call it home, the vast majority of which are herbivores that have never had to worry about any sort of predators. There is a small amount of omnivores, but they are merely scavengers, cleaning up where other creatures have died naturally and still subside on a diet mostly of fruit and vegetables.
