	<simplecadence>	the explicit mention of aliens fires up the automatic skepticism reaction in a lot of folks

	<Theenk>	and the fact is supposedly didn't know how a QED operates - even though its the method of transmission, not the method of displacement

	<Theenk>	The core concept - a ship, with nothing inside working other than a thing - said thing steals random chunks of space time and transmits them "elsewhere"
	<Theenk>	where this elsewhere is, and for what reason - we cannot figure out
	<simplecadence>	It's a crashed vessel that was recovered, then started mysteriously transmitting items ind information about humanity back to wherever it comes from, right?

	<simplecadence>	so leave some uncertainty as to whether they're "from space!" or are universe-hoppers
	<Theenk>	with the SCP I left out the aliens themselves or any remains

	<Theenk>	that way, we could have possible alien intervention, or it could be from an alternate universe whoever built it comes from
	<simplecadence>	that it doesn't really get how earth works, but tries to camoflage the probe anyway
	<Theenk>	(as a quick question, would anyone have any problem me copy/pasta-ing this over to the discussion for my later use - as I have to leave again in half an hour0

	<Theenk>	so instead of a whole craft, we have a much smaller thing of possible alien/other universe origin, make it smaller, but still retain its properties
	<simplecadence>	I was thinking like, the probe would land in the middle of a stadium and disguise itself as a giant McDonald's arch because it thinks it would be inconspicuous
	<simplecadence>	and everyone would be like wtf?
	<Theenk>	which I could tie in with the faraday cage idea much more smoothly

	<Theenk>	so a probe, of some kind - that disguises itself to its enviroment, but is really bad at it - the innards are the same size as its outtards, but no laws ofgravity/conventional sence apply - and a part of the ship is still gathering information, and transmitting it somewhere
