- [16:09] <~Headlong> GDRL-2: Addendum 11
- [16:10] <~Headlong> "I'm not sure I agree with you a hundred percent on your police work, there, Lou."
- [16:12] <~Headlong> The Dullahans are still in the wine-cellar of Cabernet's massive vineyard. Just as the mystery of the vanishing tour guide slowly began to unfold, Kopesh and Scribbles_ could both quite plainly hear the cries of a buck in pain, coming from the floor beneath them.
- [16:13] * Kopesh looks to the floor and then to the scuff marks. "He was dragged below! What's under the floor?"
- [16:14] <~Headlong> The police officer is flicking his ears a little. "What's that?"
- [16:17] <~Headlong> On the other end of the phone line, Cabernet sounds confused. "Wha... what? Under the floor? You're in the basement... J-just the foundation!"
- [16:18] * Scribbles_ blinks, bringing a hoof to scratch her chin. "What was here before the vineyard..?"
- [16:19] * Bonnet tips her head a little as she trots closer, slowly, "You found something?"
- [16:21] * Kopesh stays to hold the phone, but says to the others. "Look over that spot closer and see if you can find a crack or something anything." Then into the phone. "We need to look under the floorboards."
- [16:22] <Kopesh> floor*
- [16:23] * Scribbles_ looks over to the police officer. "May I take a look?" She asks, simply for the sake of politeness.
- [16:24] <~Headlong> Cabernet sounds a little panicked. "U-Under?"
- [16:24] <~Headlong> The police officer nods slowly. "'Course."
- [16:25] * Scribbles_ thanks the officer before ducking under the police line, looking around the area of the scuff marks first.
- [16:25] * Wishing_Well looks at the floor and gives the floor a few solid thunks. "It'd be a bit difficult to just tear this up on a whim." he says.
- [16:26] * notFridge is now known as Giddy
- [16:26] * Kopesh sounds impatient, but is still attempting to sound polite himself. "Just... get down here, you'll be able to hear it yourself."
- [16:29] * Bonnet trots up slowly, looking down at the floor carefully, "How are you intending to get under it? We don't have any shovels or anything, do you?"
- [16:29] <~Headlong> Wishing_Well's analysis is accurate. The floor is solid, thick red brick held together with ancient, but solid mortar. Digging through it would be very difficult without tools. Without hanging up, Cabernet dashes out of his office to join them.
- [16:31] * Giddy frowns and goes up to Kopesh. "Gimme the phone." He whispers.
- [16:32] * Scribbles_ shakes her head. "I'm afraid not. But something is under us, and chances are it's a pony."
- [16:33] * Kopesh is about to hang up when Giddy asks for it. "This one or the other one?"
- [16:36] <~Headlong> A dull thunking joins the shouting under the floor. Those inside the caution tape can make out two separate voices, each trying to shout over the other.
- [16:37] * Giddy wants to stomp, but doesn't want to hurt the poor bastard. "The one with boss bitch on it."
- [16:38] * Scribbles_ looks up at Bonnet. "Wow. What a time to be right."
- [16:39] * Wishing_Well 's eyes widen in fascination. "If only I had a recorder..." He says idly, lowering his head down to listen to the sounds.
- [16:40] * Kopesh hangs up the first and gets out the latter, giving to Giddy. "Don't hang up." He then walks over to the others. "Find anything? Cabernet might have something to get through that, it's going to take more than a shovel."
- [16:41] * Bonnet looks back at Scribbles before returning to stare at the floor, "How does knowing do us any good though... we can't do anything to get them out..."
- [16:43] * Giddy hovers it over his ear and goes someplace quiet. "Boss lady, we got a thing. It's a spigot, and some poor bastard is now... Fucking like, phased underground. If you've got, like, a pickaxe air drop team or a something, now would be nice."
- [16:46] <~Headlong> Giddy hears the dial tone. It's quite loud and droning. Coming to his senses, Giddy dials the number for Headlong's number. When she does answer, Giddy can hear her frown in her voice.
- [16:46] * Scribbles_ stomps a hoof on the bricks. "Yeah. You've got a point."
- [16:48] <~Headlong> "Boss Lady?" She grumps. "We can send you a supply drop, but it'll take a while to contact the closest Air Base. ETA..." Some terminal keys click. "An hour."
- [16:49] * Giddy looks around furtively. "I don't think he's got an hour. What the fuck are we supposed to do, poke him a hole and smoosh him a grilled cheese sandwich while we wait?"
- [16:52] * Kopesh walks back over to Giddy. "Anything?"
- [16:52] <~Headlong> Headlong's frown audibly deepens. "Mr. Giddy, your sarcasm is /not/ appreciated. Secure the spigot first, save the pony second, all right?"
- [16:55] * Scribbles_ leans towards the floor, pressing an ear against it to hear a little better.
- [16:56] * Giddy raises his foreleg in protest. "I'm not being sarcastic! That is literally my plan at this point!" He rubs his temple and sighs. "Here." He hooves the phone over to Kopesh, keeping her on the line. "We have a supply drop in an hour. Get the spigot, and just... I dunno, talk to her I guess." Odds are, he was going to be smarter under pressure than he was.
- [16:57] <~Headlong> Scribbles hears the warring voices, each pleading for help from the ponies on the surface. Headlong shouts a "Then do it!" to Giddy as he passes off te phone.
- [16:57] <~Headlong> the*
- [16:59] * Scribbles_ looks around at her compainions. "Which one of you wants to tell the floor we can rescue them in about an hour?"
- [17:00] * Kopesh nods, taking the phone and heads over the grab the spigot. He asks Headlong, "What's in the supply drop?"
- [17:00] <~Headlong> Headlong fumbles around with some papers on the other side of the line.
- [17:01] <~Headlong> "A pick axe, some shovels, drills, anything that could help you dig them out of..." She pauses. "Do you have the spigot?"
- [17:01] * Giddy winces when he hears "Them". Whatever. He heads on up to Cabernet's phone thing. "Wine guy, are you there?"
- [17:01] <~Headlong> Cabernet is not there, though, the phone is still off the hook.
- [17:03] * Bonnet scrubs a hoof over her face slowly, this whole thing was making less and less sense.
- [17:03] * Kopesh levitates it into his pocket. "Yes."
- [17:06] <~Headlong> Cabernet comes huffing down the stairs, a small shovel, which looks more like a large garden trowl, on his back. "Where?!"
- [17:07] * Giddy blinks and shows Cabernet the "where". "Hey, where's the kitchen? These poor bastards need some food in them pronto when they get out."
- [17:09] * Bonnet 'ohs' loudly and pulls her bag off, "Here, don't worry about the kitchen, I have some to spare."
- [17:10] <~Headlong> As Scribbles_ glances around, she notices something odd about the position of the cart. Closer inspection reveals that it had been moved, despite the wheels being locked.
- [17:11] <~Headlong> Cabernet frowns and starts prodding the bricks with his shovel. "I'm here, Quarter! Hang tight!"
- [17:11] * Scribbles_ tilts her head in thought. "Wait a second..." She said, wondering why the cart is as it is.
- [17:13] <~Headlong> Subtle scuffs on the floor near the wheels suggest that significant force was applied to the cart in order to move it. It looks as though it was pulled away from where it was.
- [17:14] * Scribbles_ looked over to Cabernet. "These carts don't have a tendency to roll, do they?"
- [17:15] * Rime|Phone ([email protected]) has joined #FruityRumpusAssholeFactory
- [17:16] <~Headlong> Cabernet looks up, brow dripping with sweat from the exertion. He's not the world's most physical buck, it would seem. "N-No..." he pauses for a breath. "They lock up very tight when they stop for a tasting..."
- [17:18] * Scribbles_ nods. "So, standard procedure is to lock the cart for tasting, then." She points out, "That means somepony moved that cart during or after Quarter's abduction."
- [17:19] * Wishing_Well lifts his head up off the floor as he notices the cart's movement. He moves closer to get a better look, continuing to listen intently for the sounds from the floor.
- [17:20] <Kopesh> "It might have been the abduction itself."
- [17:21] * Scribbles_ looks up from the floor at a realization and turns to the police officer. "Has anypony looked under the cart?"
- [17:21] <~Headlong> The officer gives a shake of his head. "No, we haven't."
- [17:22] * Scribbles_ nods and bends over, looking under the cart.
- [17:22] * Bonnet pulls the bag of croissants out and opens it up, setting it aside, followed by two bottles of water.
- [17:27] <~Headlong> Scribbled sees what could best be described as a puddle of ink, dripping from the bottom of the cart. The puddle is thin, shimmering, and rippling as the droplets land in it.
- [17:28] * Wishing_Well grabs his camera, and lifts it up to take pictures. "Interesting..."
- [17:28] * Scribbles_ waves Cabernet over to the cart. "Come look at this for me, Cabby."
- [17:28] <~Headlong> The winemaker blinks a little and trots over, lowering himself down. "I... what is it?"
- [17:29] * Scribbles_ looks over to Cabernet. "That doesn't look like anything from here?"
- [17:31] * Kopesh looks to see where the drops are coming from on the cart, wondering if they were coming from what's now in his pocket.
- [17:33] <~Headlong> Cabernet undoes the wheel locks and pushes the cart away, casting light on the deep black puddle. Kopesh notices that the substance isn't inside the cart, just stuck to the bottom of the cart.
- [17:38] * Kopesh puts the cart of its side if he can to get a better look.
- [17:41] * Wishing_Well takes pictures of the puddle of ink, as well as the bottom of the cart. Despite the atmosphere, he looks giddy as a schoolchild.
- [17:42] <~Headlong> Kopesh sees an unusually thick, runny black substance, not unlike molasses, dripping from a central puddle on the underside. The glasses inside clink around as he does so. Wishing_Well is sure to impress the ECS with his copious photos!
- [17:43] <~Headlong> Cabernet blinks as he examines the puddle with Scribbles_. "That... No. Not anything we sell."
- [17:44] * Kopesh speaks into the phone. "What do you know about inky black liquids?"
- [17:45] * Rime|Phone ([email protected]) Quit ( Quit: Colloquy for iPhone - http://colloquy.mobi )
- [17:47] <~Headlong> Headlong hmmms loudly. "Almost nothing. Did you find something like that?"
- [17:48] * Scribbles_ nods. "I suppose this goes without saying. No touching."
- [17:49] <Kopesh> "Yes, dripping from under a locked cart that was moving during or after the incedent."
- [17:49] <Kopesh> moved*
- [17:50] <~Headlong> Headlong hmmms again. "Do you smell fudge at all?"
- [17:52] <Kopesh> "No."
- [17:54] * Bonnet has been watching and listening quietly. She stares at the black puddle intently, "What about... touching it with the shovel? At a distance?"
- [17:55] * Giddy heads on up, looks for a kitchen, and tries to find some canned soup or something.
- [17:55] <~Headlong> Headlong fumbles around with more papers, muttering something about ponies never actually smelling fudge. "Right... well... I'm not finding anything. Update on your supply drop, twenty minutes."
- [17:56] * Wishing_Well backs up and puts an ear to the ground again, listening for those voices. If he could make out what they were screaming...
- [17:57] <Kopesh> "Alright. I'll keep you posted on anymore findings." He says to the others, "Twenty minutes to go."
- [17:57] * Scribbles_ nods to Bonnet and looks to Cabernet. "A shovel, please."
- [17:58] <~Headlong> Cabernet hoofs over his trowl. "Just... be careful..."
- [17:58] * Scribbles_ takes the trowl, and looks over to the cart for a cork or something else disposable.
- [17:59] <~Headlong> There are a few spent corks, but they're strewn about after Kopesh tipped over the cart.
- [18:00] * Scribbles_ takes a cork and drops it into the liquid, flinching away.
- [18:01] * Kopesh steps back as well.
- [18:02] <~Headlong> The cork bobs a little in the pool, before becoming logged with whatever liquid the puddle is made of and... sinks.
- [18:04] * Scribbles_ looks around at the group before taking the trowl in hoof, carefully dipping it into the edge of the liquid.
- [18:06] * Bonnet gives a quiet gasp as the cork sinks away, "Woah..."
- [18:06] <~Headlong> Scribbles feels an enourmous strength yank her towards the puddle!
- [18:06] * Scribbles_ yelps and immediately lets go of the trowl, backing away from the puddle.
- [18:11] <~Headlong> Scribbles_ is overwhelmed by the sudden, jerking force and is quickly pulled towards the puddle. In an instant, Scribbles is pulled into the puddle, despite it's small size.
- [18:12] * Scribbles_ can only get out a yelp of surprise.
- [18:12] * Kopesh ludges to grab her, but doesn't make it in time.
- [18:16] * Bonnet cries out loudly in surprise, "S-scribbles!"
- [18:17] <~Headlong> Wishing_Well can hear the pouding much clearer, and can hear a third voice mutter "Ow... " The screams, however, are much less articulate.
- [18:18] * Giddy comes back downstairs. "Okay, where the blue bloody hell is the-" And then the screaming started. "... What. The Fuck. Is Going. On." He wore his acrid worry like a mask.
- [18:20] * Kopesh 's mind starts reeling and he turns to the cop. "How exactly did the stallion disappear eariler?"
- [18:20] * Bonnet turns her head around to look at Giddy, shaking a little and pointing a hoof towards the puddle, "I-it ate her..."
- [18:21] * Giddy inhaled hard. "Cabernet! Do you have a rope?"
- [18:21] * Wishing_Well blinks. "Well that's curious..." he says, lifting his head up. He looks around, and notices that somepony was missing. "Well that's odd." he states, looking to Bonnet. "At novelist? Then that was who I heard." he says, thoughtfully. He scoots a little closer to the puddle and puts his ear down to the ground again.
- [18:22] <~Headlong> The cop blinks. "Hey man, I wasn't there... hell if I know."
- [18:23] <~Headlong> Cabernet does say anything. He stares at the puddle, the color drained from his face. His legs quiver in horror.
- [18:23] <Kopesh> "You didn't bother asking people when there were witnesses who saw it!?"
- [18:25] <~Headlong> The police officers frowns a little. "Look, none of them saw anything. None of our witnesses said they saw him disappear!"
- [18:26] <Kopesh> "What, did he ask them to look the other way while giving them a tour?"
- [18:28] <~Headlong> The police officer gives Kopesh a look that says "I couldn't possibly know the answer to that."
- [18:29] * Bonnet starts backing away from the puddle with short, jittery steps, her eyes never leaving it.
- [18:29] <~Headlong> Wishing_Well hears a rather loud, metallic clang as he leans down to listen in.
- [18:30] * Kopesh is finding it easy to vent at him. "You're clearly not here to keep us from looking around and you didn't even do your job and investigate, what are even here for?"
- [18:32] * Giddy inhales, then sternly walks up to Cabernet, attempts to turn him around, and looks deep into his eyes. "Let me say this slowly so it gets through your skull. Do. You. Have. A. Rope?"
- [18:32] <~Headlong> The officer holds up his badge. Where the EQPD police badge would normally be located, it instead reads "Foundation Identification Unit, Series III. SCL 3." "I'm not going to answer that."
- [18:33] <~Headlong> Cabernet gives a surprised yelp at Giddy's contact. "Wha... it... just... ate her... how..."
- [18:34] * Kopesh yells into the phone. "Why do you hired people that can't to their fucking jobs!?"
- [18:35] <~Headlong> Headlong yells right back. "Why are you assuming that he's not doing his job?!"
- [18:35] * Giddy shakes him a little. "Cabernet. Do you want them to live?"
- [18:37] * Wishing_Well furrows his brow at the clanging, and waves a hoof in a vain attempt to get the others to quiet down.
- [18:37] <~Headlong> The fragile stallion's hat falls from his head. "I... just... Y-yes... but...."
- [18:37] <Kopesh> "His badge reads 'identification unit' and he didn't even do any investigating with which to indentify."
- [18:38] * Giddy nods, then picks up and puts the hat back on his head. "Do you have a rope, Cabernet?"
- [18:41] <~Headlong> Cabernet gives an uneasy shake of his head.
- [18:43] <~Headlong> Headlong slams her hoof on her desk. "He's a deep cover agent, Kopesh! How do you think we found out about this case? If he does anything at all to sacrifice his cover or aid in your investigation, he'd be compromised. Your air drop is in ten minutes! Now think of something!"
- [18:44] * Giddy pats him on the shoulder. "Do you have anything that we could use as one?
- [18:45] <~Headlong> The stallion slumps at Giddy's touch. "I don't... think so..."
- [18:45] <Giddy> "You have a lot of industrial stuff. Do you have chains or something like that?"
- [18:48] <~Headlong> Cabernet lowers his head. "It's... not like that... Most of it is in use... I'm so sorry..."
- [18:49] * Kopesh thinks a moment as he struggles to understand the idiocy. "Asking witnesses what they saw would blow his cover as he impersonates a cop anyway? No wonder you hired him, you're an idiot too!" He hangs up and stows the phone in his pack, looking up to see what the others are doing and try and get a plan going.
- [18:51] * Wishing_Well lifts his head up a little bit. "Will you kind folks be worried if I told you there was a metal clanging sound under us?" he says, remaining cheerful despite the circumstances.
- [18:51] * Bonnet bumps into one of the casks on the other side of the room as she's backing up.
- [18:51] * Bonnet screams at the unexpected touch and crumples to the floor, curling up.
- [18:51] * Giddy sighs. "It's alright, it's alright." FUCKING FUCK GOD DAMNIT WHY AM I HERE FUCK. "Would you please go upstairs and cook some soup if you can?"
- [18:52] <~Headlong> The police officer's radio buzzes, and he excuses himself. Elsewhere, Wishing_Well can hear a loud, almost animalistic growl come from down there.
- [18:53] * Kopesh walks over to Wishing_Well. "Where in relation to the voices?"
- [18:54] * Wishing_Well blinks as he hears the growling. "Rather close I think, but..." he says, lowering his head back to the ground, "There's growling now."
- [18:55] <~Headlong> Cabernet slowly rises, determined to make use of himself somehow! He scampers back upstairs to the test kitchen.
- [18:56] * Kopesh puts his ear to the floor now.
- [18:57] <~Headlong> There's a second, much louder growl. It sounds like a malnourished rumbling of a hungry stomach.
- [18:58] <Kopesh> "Either Giddy has the right idea about them needing food or it could be what sucked them down too."
- [19:01] * Giddy tries to control his breathing. "Okay. Okay." He sounded like he was on the edge of some sanity barrier. His ears were twitching. "Kopesh? Please, if you could, take the nice police officers outside and help them take the supplies inside."
- [19:04] * Kopesh looks at Giddy a moment, concerned. "You ok? Maybe you should too, you look like you could use a breather."
- [19:06] * Giddy inhales. His left eye and left ear twitched. "Just do what I say. Please." His voice was strained. It sounded like he was about to blow up, and was barely keeping it inside.
- [19:11] * Kopesh puts a hoof lightly on Giddy's shoulder to try and get him to come with him. "Ok, let's go help them unload. They should be here when we get up there."
- [19:12] * Giddy raises his hoof. "Go." He sounded a lot more assertive there.
- [19:15] * Kopesh takes his hoof back, realising that Giddy is fine enough and really not wanting to leave the scene. "I'd rather stay, I don't want to me anything and we might need to call her again."
- [19:17] * Wishing_Well continues listening to the ground, trying to see if he can make anything else out.
- [19:17] <Kopesh> miss*
- [19:18] <~Headlong> Wishing_Well hears a trio of frightened screams!
- [19:18] * Giddy held it in for as long as he could. He did. "WILL YOU GO OUT AND FUCKING DO AS I ASK YOU TO DO FOR ONCE IN THE TIME WE HAVE KNOWN EACH OTHER. THIS SHIT'S GONE FROM BAD TO WORSE, THERE ARE PONIES ABOUT TO STARVE TO DEATH, AND I AM FUCKING DONE DEALING WITH THIS FUCKING BULLSHIT." He looks like this is the beginning of an hour-long rant.
- [19:20] * Wishing_Well rolls his eyes as more yelling ensues. Lifting his head up, he looks over. "There's more pressing matters then whether somepony will starve to death, like the reason behind there being three screams of terror below us."
- [19:23] * Kopesh turns away, shaking his head at Giddy once again acting childish. At least his own rant was controlled. Giddy can rant if he wants, Wishing_Well's right. He heads back to where Wishing is.
- [19:24] * Bonnet cringes at the yelling, curling up tighter and rocking on the floor.
- [19:25] * Giddy is shaking. He's shaking a lot. With fury, he walks around the winery. "Bonnet! Where are you?" He seemed to have the same force.
- [19:28] <~Headlong> Those with their ears to the floor can hear a voice, slightly distorted, call out "Hey, you guys!"
- [19:28] * Bonnet is curled up on the other side of the room next to one of the wine casks, she whines softly at your shouting but doesn't say anything else.
- [19:30] * Wishing_Well blinks as he hears a distorted voice. "Hello, what's this...?" he says, mostly to himself. "MISS, IS THAT YOU?" he yells into the floor, quickly putting an ear back down.
- [19:31] * Giddy stomps his way over to Bonnet and hovers over her for a minute. "Bonnet. Look at me."
- [19:33] * Bonnet looks up very slowly with wide eyes.
- [19:33] * Kopesh quickly puts and ear down.
- [19:33] <Kopesh> an*
- [19:35] <~Headlong> Both Kopesh and Wishing_Well can now hear Scribbles_' voice. "I'm okay! So are... others..." There's a dull rumbling again. "...Dark... not alone!"
- [19:37] * Giddy just stays that way for a little while. "The first thing you're going to do is get up. The second thing you're going to do is dry your tears." He frowned, his expression weakened for a moment. "The third is that you're going to help them get out of the hole. And then everything will be fine."
- [19:39] * Giddy is hyperventilating. "I'll... We'll need your help getting them out. They're coming in with the tools. Okay?"
- [19:40] <~Headlong> "Tell... Headlong!... Hurry!" Scribbles_ shouts from below.
- [19:40] * Bonnet just stares at Giddy for a few moments, had she been crying? She didn't even notice... She gives a small sniff and puts one hoof forward, "Tools? Did we... get something?"
- [19:40] * Kopesh looks at Giddy, he doesn't want to leave, but Wishing_Well can handle listening. Giddy might be a child that needs others to respect his dick, but he has a point. "Alright Giddy, I'll do what you want. I'm heading up to get those supplies, if you want to be productive, you can join me." He gets up and starts heading up the stairs.
- [19:44] <~Headlong> The closer and closer Kopesh gets to the winery entrance, the louder and louder the whirr of Vertibuck blades become. Climbing out of the flying machine, Kopesh sees, are four ponies clad in plain clothes with medical bags strung across their backs.
- [19:47] * Wishing_Well looks at the ground thoughtfully. "THEY'RE ON IT, HOLD ON." he yells back.
- [19:49] * Kopesh approaches them, speaking up to be heard over the noise. "What tools did you bring?"
- [19:53] * Giddy shrugs. "I dunno. But..." How could he say this? His conscience failed him, so he just said the first thing that came to mind. "I really don't want to be alone doing this."
- [19:53] <~Headlong> The pilot kills the rotors and hops out too. The off-white unicorn stallion in the lead breezes past Kopesh, steering him around with his magic. "Exactly what was requested. Give me a sit rep. Strikes, get that thing spooled up." He barks to a pegasus mare, fumbling with a small black case in her hooves as she floats. "Garrison, stay at the entrance. Grab a uniform, too." "Yes sir." another stallion says, staying behind.
- [19:56] * Bonnet nods a little and sits up shakily, glancing past Giddy at the puddle as she slowly gets to her hooves, "O-okay."
- [19:57] <Kopesh> "I can help carry, if you need it, and I can take you there."
- [19:58] <~Headlong> The apparent leader looks between his two remaining teammates and shakes his head. "We'll handle the gear, Dullahan. Just point us in the right direction."
- [19:59] * Kopesh nods and leads them back.
- [20:02] <~Headlong> The trio thunder on to the scene, packs flying open in a flurry of digging equipment and portable terminals. Strikes, the mare in glasses, keeps with Kopesh until he leads her to the puddle. "Oh my... So what happened?"
- [20:03] <Kopesh> "We found this here and when another of us tested it, she was sucked in.
- [20:03] <Kopesh> "*
- [20:04] * Wishing_Well continues to listen for a reply, staying positive.
- [20:05] <~Headlong> Strikes hmmms. "Class two, Backdrop." She calls out to the third teammate, who is setting up a terminal. "All right." The leader announces. "Let's pull her out of there. Get me 119." He demands. Strikes sinks back and begins setting up a large A-frame.
- [20:06] <~Headlong> "Class two... probably nothing to worry about. They been down there long?"
- [20:09] * Bonnet startles and drops back to the ground as the group of new ponies enter, only opening her eyes and getting back up slowly again once they start talking.
- [20:09] <Kopesh> "Ours has been in about a half-hour. The others, I don't know because of the incompetance of those that were here before us."
- [20:11] * Giddy gets her back up. "Hey. Don't be afraid, okay? Please."
- [20:13] <~Headlong> Unicorn-leader grunts. "Incompetence? What do you mean?" Backdrop helps Strikes set the A-Frame over the puddle.
- [20:15] <Kopesh> "He was posing as a police officer and instead of questioning witness like an officer would, he didn't. And, when I starting asking why, he said that he didn't have to asnswer because saying that you have more clearance is a great way to not have to explain why you suck at your job."
- [20:16] <Kopesh> answer*
- [20:17] * Bonnet trembles as she clasps her hoof around Giddy's, her voice low, "H-how? S-she got eaten, and didn't you hear what they said... about screams... and growling..."
- [20:18] * Giddy shakes his head. "Just, look okay? We're relieved. It's not our problem, it's going to be fine. Alright?"
- [20:20] <~Headlong> The unicorn looks Kopesh over for a moment. "We'll have a word with his supervisor." Strikes and Backdrop wipe the sweat from their brow. "All set, sir. You going in this time... or?"
- [20:21] * Bonnet sniffs a little again and nods slowly.
- [20:22] <~Headlong> The unicorn nods. "Sure thing." He smiles between Kopesh, Wishing_Well, and Giddy. "Unless any of these fine gentlecolts would rather go in my place."
- [20:23] <Kopesh> "I'll go."
- [20:23] <~Headlong> He begins to hook himself into the harness. "Heh, that was a joke, Dullahan. We don't put others out on the rope like that."
- [20:25] <Kopesh> "It's refreshing to see someone actually do his job. Let me know if I can do something."
- [20:25] * Giddy just hangs his head at that. He was a driver. Not a doctor. Not a detective. What the fuck good is he around here, anyway?
- [20:28] * Wishing_Well lifts his head up and looks over at the unicorn and the device, then to the changeling, then puts his head back down to continue listening.
- [20:28] <~Headlong> Unicorn motions for Kopesh to come closer. "If you /are/ bent on going down, I'd say one of those guys down there meant something to you. I'll take you down. This could be a valuable learning experices for Pocket Dimensions."
- [20:31] * Kopesh steps closer. "Learning is important. If you'll allow, I would like to go with you."
- [20:32] <~Headlong> The buck offers Kopesh a harness and a clip, chained up to the top of the A-Frame. "All right. Let's take a dive." He says, trotting up to the puddle and gingerly touching it with his hoof.
- [20:34] * Kopesh gets himself into the harness and follows suit.
- [20:35] * Wishing_Well looks over to the unicorn and changeling. "Good luck." he says cheerfully. "Wouldn't want to keep the poor lady waiting, would you?"
- [20:39] <~Headlong> The unicorn grins as he's pulled into the void. Kopesh feels a slight sinking feeling then a loud impact against a concrete floor.
- [20:41] * Kopesh looks around.
- [20:44] <~Headlong> The unicorn flicks on a flashlight. Even in the totaly darkness of the inner puddle, the light does little but illuminate a few feet ahead of them. "Whew." He whistles, remarking the landscape. "One of the more complex I've seen."
- [20:47] <~Headlong> The floor is a purple/tissue color, perforated and pockmarked with a variety of holes that seem to open and close naturally. Chunks of concrete, like the one they apparently stand on, rebar, wood, dirt, rock, and other various materials lie strewn about before them, like islands in the sea of purple tissue. "Yep... very complex."
- [20:48] * Kopesh doesn't know if yelling out is a good idea and decides to just ask questions. "So, this is alive and this stuff are things it's eaten?"
- [20:50] * Wishing_Well ([email protected]) Quit ( Quit: ChatZilla 0.9.90.1 [Firefox 24.0/20130910160258] )
- [20:51] * Wishing_Well ([email protected]) has joined #FruityRumpusAssholeFactory
- [20:51] <~Headlong> Unicorn moves the light around, to the ceiling. "Not sure... Ceiling's made of concrete. See?" he twirls the light around. "Class II all right."
- [20:55] <~Headlong> He moves the light around some more, and it falls upon somewhere to the right. "Hey... something's movie over there..."
- [20:55] <Kopesh> "And, what does Class II mean?"
- [20:56] <~Headlong> The unicorn trots towards the movement. "As much as I'd hate to ask... but... what's your Security Clearance?" He says. Slowly, the shape of a floating Scribbles_ emerges from the darkness.
- [20:57] * Kopesh sighs. "Just fuck i- Scribbles?"
- [20:58] <~Headlong> The unicorn grins. "Well, well! Look at our little Pocket Diver! You all right over there?"
- [21:00] * Scribbles_ smiles widely. "Kopesh!" She exclaims, rushing over to them. She stops herself mid-glomp when she remembers that she's infront of both coworkers and random ponies and lands in front of them. "Yeah. A bit spooked, but I'm okay."
- [21:02] * Kopesh smiles at her. "It's great you're all right. Are the others ok?"
- [21:03] * Scribbles_ looks off into the darkness. "Quarter and another, Ms. Hoofstong, are alright. Hoofstrong says she's hurt and bleeding, pinned down by a cask, I think.
- [21:04] <Kopesh> "Where?"
- [21:04] * Scribbles_ points off into the darkness. "Somewhere. Couldn't see anything until you showed up."
- [21:04] <~Headlong> The unicorn chuckles a little, shining the light on- "Holy mother of- Ms. Scribbles, just take a step back and don't. Move." His eyes are narrowed, a pair of tongs floating from his pack. "Stay. Perfectly. Still."
- [21:05] * Scribbles_ blinks, looking at the unicorn. "What?" She asks flatly.
- [21:07] * Scribbles_ tenses up again, turning her eyes as much as she could without moving her head. "What? What is it?"
- [21:08] <~Headlong> He steps forward. "There's... an anomaly... on your shoulder." He mutters. Sure enough, wriggling around on Scribbles_' shoulder is a slimy, dark purple slug. It's a wonder that she didn't feel it before. "Just remain calm."
- [21:10] * Scribbles_ does as she's told. the stay still part, not the remain calm part. "It's... It's not eating me or anything, is it?"
- [21:11] * Kopesh tries to be comforting. "Scribbles_, he knows what he's doing, just let him deal with it and you'll be fine."
- [21:12] <~Headlong> The unicorn inches forward. "Probably not... never seen this kind of Class J before... so just hold... Still!" He lunges at it, snapping the tongs around the slug and prying it off of Scribbles with a "schmeck."
- [21:12] * Scribbles_ cringes at the schmeck, immediately rubbing the spot where it was for holes.
- [21:15] <~Headlong> There's a slight sensitive pain in the area, but no bumps. The unicorn hurls the slug back away from them and trots back towards where Scribbles_ came from. "So, they over here?"
- [21:17] * Scribbles_ nods directing the unicorn into the darkness. "I've been following their voices since I've been here,"
- [21:19] <~Headlong> "Right. Let's see what we can do about those who got pinned..." He says, ambling into the dark, tugging on his chain as he goes.
- [21:19] * Kopesh follows behind the unicorn, ready to help if needed.
- [21:22] * Scribbles_ drapes a wing over Kopesh, using him to guide her about.
- [21:24] <~Headlong> Eventually, they meander over to the two ponies, Quarter and Ms. Hoofstrong, huddled together. Hoofstrong's wing is indeed pinned under something, but it's not exactly a cask.
- [21:26] <~Headlong> On the surface, Backdrop clutches his ears in pain, tearing headphones from his head. "Gaaaah! Fuck! That was loud!" he wails.
- [21:26] <~Headlong> Underground, the loudest rumble yet pierces the relative silence. The unicorn loses his footing (hoofing?) as the floor quakes with a primal roar. "What the..."
