- Hi all,
- A very bad move in my opinion. The rule was originally in place to ease fears of users stalking the network. The 72 hours was a worked our compromise to allow those "geeks" who run systems to be away for weekends and then come back.
- It also reassured those new or being persuaded to use Internet for Scouting for the first time that there was a mechanism to stop just sitting on channels servers.
- I'm full aware that I am probably in the minority of the team but in my years at SL having had experience of a number of "bad ones" I sincerely hope that its not a decision that bounces back and bits the Council in the arse.
- I am also appalled that its only now some 6 days after that the team are informed. That should have been done immediately and then by the UK CC and not the chairman.
- I am now looking forward to sitting on all ScoutLink channels (Channel rules permitting) - even the secret ones and eavesdropping. have a couple of spare computers available :)
- A sad day for ScoutLink I believe.
- Regards
- Roger
