  7. [2015-10-21 13:34:53] <Little_Gloom> 3In front of them gapes a chasm, the tracks crossing a decaying metal bridge straight ahead. Hellish light, brightly orange, eminates from within. Across the bridge, the stalwart remains of the military barricade announce the transition to Section D Mines better than the heat-warped and smoke-blackened sign.

  10. [2015-10-21 13:43:25] * Noble_Heart peers further down the tunnel. "That may be wise. This area is certainly more combusted than the others."
  11. [2015-10-21 14:08:53] * Get_Lost /me stares at the incoming barricade and the bridge, frowns... her visor starts filling with numbers, and numbers pile up in equations, and equations into weird little white drawings on an imaginary chalkboard, filled with
  12. [2015-10-21 14:10:03] * Get_Lost stylized ponies, parables and crates with ACME printed on them... there are ALWAYS crates with ACME written on them, on this kind of chalkboards, then something above get's head goes -PING!-
  13. [2015-10-21 14:11:01] * Get_Lost "bookie, jump on the right rear corner of the cart, noble, hug copy very tight! mitzi, lower your left ear and strtch the left paw outside the cart! kid, grab my tail!"

  15. [2015-10-21 14:17:41] * Get_Lost grabs a dovtor bag, weights it, frowns, then grabs her showel, tries it against a wheel and smiles "YES!" grabs the shovel and aims at the rail right in front of the cart
  16. [2015-10-21 14:18:05] * Noble_Heart frowns and is slightly concerned, but grabs hold of CopyCat anyway. "Should We be screaming in panic as well?"
  17. [2015-10-21 14:18:40] * Get_Lost "shatara stay EXACTLY where you are, but grab a donut and put it on top of your tail!"
  18. [2015-10-21 14:19:37] * Bookwright has no idea what Get_Lost is going on about, but complies anyways because there's no time for anything else.

  21. [2015-10-21 14:23:06] * Get_Lost "NOW!" tosses the shovel right under the cart's wheel, letting it run on a single pair "WEEEEEEE!"

  25. [2015-10-21 14:26:51] * Golden_Dream is still holding onto the tail!
  26. [2015-10-21 14:27:15] * Golden_Dream is nomming tail like no tomorrow! It is tail-munching o' clock!

[2015-10-21 14:49:41] * Get_Lost and suddenly, everything goes flying circus. the bridge doesn't hold the weight of the cart on a single rail, the rail snaps upwards and the cart goes airborne in a split second. while chunks of wood and metal fall in the chasm, everyone is describing some sort of ark in the air
  28. [2015-10-21 14:50:43] <Little_Gloom> 3(Somewhere back in a temple, Pink-E senses it is missing a prime chance to scream "WHEEEEE!")
  29. [2015-10-21 14:51:33] * Get_Lost the cart flies just a few inches above the blockade, doing a very nice 720° and lands a few meters past it, everyone else starts landing in it, from front to bottom, in size order
  30. [2015-10-21 14:52:28] * Get_Lost when the bigger plot of the story (that is, mitzi) lands, there's some sort of flash from a hidden camera and the group speeds up down the rail or the runnng cart
  31. [2015-10-21 14:53:43] * Noble_Heart screams instead. Flailing slightly in panic. She wasn't used to flying without actual control. And it was more than a little terrifying.
  32. [2015-10-21 14:59:10] <Little_Gloom> 3...And on into the darkness and fire they go.
  33. [2015-10-21 14:59:14] * Get_Lost smiles "hey, i can't believe it really worked!"
  34. [2015-10-21 15:00:56] * Golden_Dream 's eyes go wide. "MMF RRRF EE GOINGF?!"
  35. [2015-10-21 15:01:33] <Little_Gloom> 3Section D Mines is barren of the historical signs of mining scattered throughout the Section C Mines -- no mining drones, no huge drilling machines, no scattered hardhats or mining tools. The place looked stripped.

  37. [2015-10-21 15:01:54] * Get_Lost "sure kid"
  38. [2015-10-21 15:02:03] * Bookwright "Well, that was a heart-stopping experience."
  39. [2015-10-21 15:04:07] <Little_Gloom> 3The cart passes some sort of machinery alongside the tracks -- a motorized winch system used for pulling heavy-laden carts up steep inclines. Cables from it snake under the tracks ahead.
  40. [2015-10-21 15:04:58] * Shatara notes the donut has somehow settled on CopyCat's horn.
  41. [2015-10-21 15:06:20] * Golden_Dream looks up at Get, terrified. "... Cfn ff lef go now?"
  42. [2015-10-21 15:12:55] * Noble_Heart blinks and frowns. "It seems that this place was indeed an industrial center. No doubt this was used to raise and lower heavy machinery into the mines."
  43. [2015-10-21 15:14:15] * Mitzi looks more than a little green in the face. "Kin we stop now?"
  44. [2015-10-21 15:18:51] * Bookwright is enjoying the minecart ride and looks crestfallen at Mitzi's request.
  45. [2015-10-21 15:19:38] * Mitzi is fast, but not as fast as this minecart, and usually has nice, more tightly enclosed tunnels around her when moving fast through the ground. Also, flying does not sit well with her.
  46. [2015-10-21 15:23:39] <Little_Gloom> 3The passage ahead opens into a wide chamber, falling forward and downward. Glowing orange veins of cut through the rocky walls like hellish arteries. The cart races towards the edge and then over it, shooting down a steep incline, picking up speed as it races towards the bottom of the underground quarry.
  47. [2015-10-21 15:24:33] * Mitzi looks like she's going to be sick
  48. [2015-10-21 15:27:31] <Little_Gloom> 3Along the bottom, several more tunnels can be seen to radiate outward into the walls. Most are collapsed or blocked off. One, instead, is metal-reinforced and was protected by sentry guns. The guns, however, look de-powered.
  49. [2015-10-21 15:28:54] <Little_Gloom> 3Below, milling about the floor of the chamber, are dozens of blackened, zebra-like figures. Their bodies are charred black and hard, with orange fire glowing fiercely between the cracks. The zebra figures almost look less like the shambling dead bodies of extreme burn victims, more like they are actually formed out of hot coals.
  50. [2015-10-21 15:30:25] * Noble_Heart prepares herself for battle. "Golems. Or something like them. Prepare yourselves!"
  51. [2015-10-21 15:33:25] * Bookwright sincerely hopes that their flame-bitten origins don't make them immune to bolts of energy. He checks his MASER is fully charged, and nods wearily at Noble_Heart. "As ready as I can be."
  52. [2015-10-21 15:35:14] * Golden_Dream just now lets go of Get's tail. She left bite marks.
  53. [2015-10-21 15:39:37] <Little_Gloom> 3The things below turn black-crusted heads towards the squealing sounds of the cart rushing down the ramp. And the air fills with fire.
  54. [2015-10-21 15:51:01] * Mitzi yelps and howls in pain as she is burned all over, the air filling with the smell of burnt dog hair
  55. [2015-10-21 16:04:20] * Bookwright lolls, severely burned and unconscious from the furnace blast.
  56. [2015-10-21 16:07:18] * Golden_Dream 's first instinct was to start shooting. Golden_Dream's second instinct was to get Bookie back up. The former won out. She blasted a few shots of buckshot in their general vicinity, the rapport echoing through the caves like a thousand ghosts following suit.
  57. [2015-10-21 16:28:22] <Little_Gloom> 3The chamber below erupts in fire and brimstone. Golden_Dream's first shot penetrates the black-crusted form of one of the monsters and it collapses in on itself, erupting in a geyser of liquid fire. The next three shots eliminate three more, a spreading pool of magma spilling across the floor in the wakes of their deaths.
  58. [2015-10-21 16:32:36] <Little_Gloom> 3Get_Lost digs a healing potion out of Bookwright's bags. She frowns, looking at it. The potion is pre-war, and predates the quality of potions produced by the Ministry of Peace. "i hope it's good. it is super-well sealed." She holds it up to Mitzi. "would you open this? i would rather not shatter the top. swallowing bits of glass is bad for ponies."
  59. [2015-10-21 16:33:13] * Mitzi flicks a claw to cleanly slice the top off the potion bottle
  60. [2015-10-21 16:43:55] <Little_Gloom> 3The healing potion has, if anything, become more potent as it congealed... but not in entirely a good way. Worse, threads of pink had seeped into the mixture, tainting it with pink cloud.
  61. [2015-10-21 16:47:24] <Little_Gloom> 3Still, Get_Lost does the best she can, and is at least able to revive her collapsed and badly burned friend.
  62. [2015-10-21 16:48:18] * Bookwright groans. "Oh... I feel like I just stepped into an oven and drank a liter of drain cleaner..."
  63. [2015-10-21 16:50:06] * Bookwright leans over the side of the minecart and sees four slowly-cooling puddles of ghoul. "How long was I out?"
  64. [2015-10-21 16:50:46] * Bookwright "How squishy are those things?"
  65. [2015-10-21 17:01:09] * Golden_Dream drops prone. "Plenty. Get through their hide, and they got nougat fer' insides."
  66. [2015-10-21 17:01:48] <Shatara> "Creamy, creamy nougat..."
  67. [2015-10-21 17:12:24] * Shatara notes that they less die and more pop at the slightest provocation. He draws his trusty 9mm, his friend and companion since he was uncerimoniously ejected into the wastes, takes it palm-on-palm, leans into it, and pops off rounds like a submachine gun.
  68. [2015-10-21 17:47:30] * Shatara frowns and interupts his awesome mag dump short, the first two rounds ricocheting harmlessly off the coalpones' thick carapaces. He rapidly switches to the old standby battle rifle, and manages to get off a few shots.
  69. [2015-10-21 17:48:58] <Little_Gloom> 3The griffin swiftly adjusts, and Shatara's rifle shots turn three of the monsters into geysers of liquid fire. They erupt brilliantly, then collapse into the spreading pools of heated magma at their feet.
  70. [2015-10-21 17:49:44] <Little_Gloom> 3Get_Lost looks down and says nostalgically, "the floor is lava. i've played this game."
  71. [2015-10-21 17:50:38] * Bookwright leans out of the minecart and points the MASER at the slavering horde below. Electric death easily pierces dull crusty hide.
  72. [2015-10-21 17:52:03] <Little_Gloom> 3The monster dutifully erupts at Bookwright destroys it. The mine cart continues it's increasingly rapid descent towards a floor that is now more molten orange than safe ground.
  73. [2015-10-21 17:54:41] * Bookwright grunts as the exploding wave of electric energy fails to harm any more monsters. He fires three times more at monsters at the heart of the thickest cluster.
  74. [2015-10-21 17:56:12] <Little_Gloom> 3Three more monsters erupt spectacularly.
  75. [2015-10-21 18:05:01] * Bookwright gatheres his mental and magical energy in the split second remaining to him to unleash a wild burst of healing energy.
  76. [2015-10-21 18:27:14] * Noble_Heart charged her horn, brilliant purple beams beating down at the glowing ground before them. Showering it in a curtain of energy blasts. "We shall keep them clear of the tracks for as long as We can!"
  77. [2015-10-21 18:40:05] <Mitzi> ACTION frowns as the scene plays out. Those scorched zebra things were easy to kill, but if they didn't get all of them, they were liable to cause another blast of fire like the one that had nearly killed Bookwright. She snots and growls, not about to lose any of her friends. She places her massive paws on the front of the minecart and, using its momentum, hurls herself at the last five of the creatures.   78. [2015-10-21 18:41:31] <Mitzi> With blistering speed she makes two great leaps off the ground and lands right in the midst of the monsters. Using a level of speed that a creature her size might not be suspected in, she buries her claws deep into each of the charred zebras with a lightning fast flurry
  79. [2015-10-21 18:44:24] <Mitzi> *snorts
  80. [2015-10-21 18:45:31] <Kkat> Mitzi strikes down those that Noble_Heart's rain of energy does not fell... and it is the last thing Mitzi does in this life. Her claws slice through the first creature's carapace with terrifying ease. But even as she does, her claws begin to burn. As her swiping paw moves through it the monster and to the next one, the creature collapses in on itself...
  81. [2015-10-21 18:47:21] <Kkat> From above, it looks like a volcano opened up around Mitzi. Liquid fire roars upwards all around her, splashing down and filling the floor, turning the chamber into a hot magma pool.
  82. [2015-10-21 18:47:57] <Kkat> Bookwright is able to grab what is left of her with his telekinesis, the body burning.
  83. [2015-10-21 18:49:32] * Bookwright hauls the altogether too-warm corpse back into the minecart just occupied by his recently-alive friend.
  84. [2015-10-21 18:49:57] * Golden_Dream 's eyes open wide. Horror starts to strike her. Of course she did OF COURSE SHE WOULD HAVE WHY DIDN'T YOU STOP HER. Nononononono Nononono. NONONONONO.
  85. [2015-10-21 18:50:39] * Noble_Heart focused on her spell, the rest of these rock-things would be destroyed lest her friend's sacrifice be in vain.
