  1. I spent the past week working hardcore on my FF13 Any% note reformatting project. The bulk of the work was in the previously unformatted sections--chapters 9-13. The original intent of the project was just to get those sections formatted properly, but after having looked at the notes for the first time in a year, I decided I did not fully agree with what I had done for the previous sections, so I went back to the beginning and came up with a new style that seemed much better. Regardless, chapters 1-8 were easy to update since most of what was there was copy/pasted over. I had hit a motivational block once I hit chapter 9 due to having to actually do work, but this past week was spent forcing myself to work with the goal of getting it done by Sunday.

  3. Of course, on the last day of my determined efforts, I put it off until midnight and decided I would rather sleep. :P But I am very close to being done with the bulk of the work, and the next few weeks will be more focused on trimming the edges and frosting the cake and whatever other extra analogy you can come up with!

  5. I've been enjoying World of Final Fantasy, but I'm not far into the game at all. I've seen random tweets from people talking about their progress, and it makes me worried that someone is going to enter my stream and criticize me for not being that far. I'm a very slow gamer, ironically. I like making my first playthroughs last, because you get only one first playthrough. I've been asked a few times whether I'm going to speedrun WoFF (or FF15), and it makes me feel like no one else cares for first playthroughs? This is my time to experience the joys of the dialogue, to learn the intricacies of the battle mechanics firsthand, to be surprised by plot twist X or to laugh at the inclusion of character Y in town Z, but everyone else doesn't seem to care about those things as much. It's all about speed, to the point that I see more people talking about wanting to speedrun FF15 before the game is even released. I don't want to be roped into that until long after my first playthrough, because these are still games to be played for fun; speedruns are just an extra thing done to further your enjoyment of the game, not as the sole means of playing the game.

  7. Anyway, hopefully I'll get these notes finished up soon, so that I'll have the first worthwhile something to present in months.
