  1. "Look! Another one!"
  2.
  3. Sayori pointed outside, her finger pressing against the window. Outside, catching her attention was most likely another deer running by. Sayori's been pointing out all the deer she's seen to me this entire trip. Her face could barely hide her excitement as she looked back at me.
  4.
  5. "Do you see it Anon! Look !"
  6.
  7. "Sayori, you know I can't, I have to keep an eye on the road. " I insisted, we've long left the safety of concrete roads and have been traveling a mixture of dirt and gravel for the past 20 minutes or so. I've been diligent about paying attention to the road so I don't hit anything that tries to pass by
  8.
  9. "I know but c'mooon! Just a quick look!" she pleaded.
  10.
  11. I couldn't turn down her insistence, besides, it's pretty cute when she's this excited. I quickly avert my eyes and see a large doe galloping across an open field. I can't blame her for being excited, it was a really beautiful sight.
  12.
  13. "Yeah that is pretty nice." I said, my gaze quickly focusing on the road again.
  14.
  15.
  16. "Do you think we'll see any over there?" Sayori asked me.
  17.
  18. I let out a small laugh. "I don't really think so. Farms don't really have a need for deer."
  19.
  20. Sayori gave a small a small pout. "Aww, I was hoping they would, they're so cute."
  21.
  22. "I know they are, but they'll have other cute animals there." I reassure her.
  23.
  24. "Like chickens?"
  25.
  26. "Yes, like chickens, and horses and goats. Even your favorite."
  27.
  28. Sayori gave a small gasp. "Cows?!"
  29.
  30. I give a small excited nod. "Mhmm!"
  31.
  32. "Yay!~ I can't wait! Thank you so much for taking us here Anon!"
  33.
  34. "It's nothing, I've had it planned for a small while once you mentioned how you've never actually seen a real cow before. I started looking up farms that allow visits and I found the perfect one not too far away, with lots of things to do, so I know we'll have a great time."
  35.
  36. I could see that if she wasn't bound by the seat belt she'd've attacked me with a hug. It's been a few months since I've started helping Sayori with her depression. I've tried my best to help her get out and start doing things she might've not had the motivation to do herself. So far we've been making progress, no miracles but she's told me her thoughts haven't been as dire as they were before, so I must be doing something right. I started saving up as much money as I could so I could take her here.
  37.
  38. It wasn't much longer before I see a sign that says "Honey Acre Farms" followed by a plot of land, if I were to quickly guess I'd say it was about an acre large like the sign suggested, dotted with various buildings and ranches. I wasn't expecting it to be so large, but at least it means me and Sayori will have plenty to do here.
  39.
  40. "We're here, we're here!" Sayori shouts, bouncing up and down in her seat. I haven't seen her this excited in a while so it's definitely worth the drive and the heavy hit that's about to come to my wallet. We both get out and I'm a bit shocked at the brisk air, we're suppose to be entering Spring soon but it's still pretty cold. I zip up my jacket and double check my backpack and see if I have a spare in there in case Sayori gets cold, she's always been one to forget to bring an extra and I'd rather not see her shivering. I walk around the car and see Sayori looking at the entrance to this carnival sized farm, her face beaming with excitement. I take a minute to really appreciate this person with me.She has on a fuzzy scarf, as red as her ribbon, and a pink parka with a white sweater underneath, most likely one of mines as the sleeves stick out from her parka's and cover most of her hand, leaving her fingertips exposed. She has on a blue skirt that stops just above her knees and thick grey knit stockings that stop right on them. I gave her a heads up about the likelihood of us walking on dirt so she prepared with brown winter boots. All in all she looked absolutely lovely.
  41.
  42. "You ready?" I ask her.
  43.
  44. I'm greeted with a very enthusiastic nod. "Yup! C'mon Anon let's go before the line gets longer!"
  45.
  46. Me and Sayori start walking towards the line and I lightly feel something tugging at my fingers. I look down and see Sayori's hand gripping my pinky with hers. I quickly look back up and see her blushing, her gaze averting mine.
  47.
  48. "It's pretty cold today and my hand is getting a bit cold, ehehe~"
  49.
  50. I move my hand and wrap it around hers and grip it firmly.
  51.
  52. "Sayori that worked when we went sledding, you don't have to make excuses now, we can do this anytime." I give her a reassuring smile.
  53.
  54. She warmly smiles back and nods. I guess it's taking her some getting use to. We both continue our walk, now hand in hand.
  55.
  56. We get in line and use the wait to get a preview of what to expect in there. There's a couple of large tents blocking my view of the deeper area but from what I see there's a guide, a ticket dispenser, merchandise store and lots of food stands, which if I know Sayori, is going to want to go into first thing. If it wasn't the tickets or souvenirs, it was going to be that that put the dent in my wallet. The line slowly moves and we're met with a bit of relief as we get in front of the small heaters places along the line. Sayori huddles close to the heater as close as she can without touching it. I decide to help by standing in front of her and blocking the wind from hitting her.
  57.
  58. "Aren't you cold anon?" She asks.
  59.
  60. "Not really, I can handle the cold. I don't want you getting any colder." I explain. Sayori gives me a small pout.
  61.
  62. "I don't want you getting any cold either! Why don't you stand next to me in front of the heater?" She suggests as she steps to the side, the heater is small enough and I don't want to take up any of it. It sounds like she wants me close to her most of all.
  63.
  64. "I have an idea then." I smirk as I quickly unzip my jacket and place my hands in my pockets, then wrapping Sayori in the jacket and pull her close to me, completely catching her off guard.
  65.
  66. "A-anon! What are you doing?" She stammers out as her face flushes and she gives me a sheepish smile.
  67.
  68. "You still looked pretty cold and we both don't want to get any colder so why not kill two birds with one stone. Besides it's pretty comfy, we still have a bit longer to go on the line so why not make the most of it?"
  69.
  70. "You could of least told me meanie! But it is comfy, and so warm~" She purs as she nuzzles her head on my chest. I wrap my jacket as much as I could around her and pull her a bit closer.
  71.
  72. "That is is. I think I can wait in line a bit longer." I joke. Sayori replies back with a soft giggle as she enjoys the closeness between us. Once the line moves we shuffle a few feet to fill the gap and focus on keeping each other warm. After a couple of more shuffles we arrive at the admission, and we're greeted with to a woman inside a small shack , with a window low enough for her to sit down and lean against.
  73.
  74. "Hi there! Welcome to Honey Acres. Is it gonna be two tickets?" she says with a pep in her voice. I give her a nod and leans over to grab the tickets.
  75.
  76. "It'll be 24 dollars!". Admission was less than I was expecting but still pretty heavy. I pay her and she grabs two tickets from a roll and snaps them off and separates them before handing them too us.
  77.
  78. "Here ya'll go. Now just one thing before you go in. Mind if I see your hands?" A bit confused Sayori and I stick out our hands and the lady quickly wraps a pink wristband around our wrists. We inspect the wristbands and before we could ask the lady continued.
  79.
  80. "We have a "lovebird" special going on this week. Couples get a wristband, and you can use the wristband to get deals at certain parts of the farm. You'll know when you see them." She says with a coy smile.
  81.
  82. Sayori and I both give an equally sheepish laugh. Sure we we're both huddling for warmth but being acknowledged as a couple was something we both still needed some getting use to. The lady gives us a quick reference of where to go and wishes us a good time.
