- The Stormy Lake
- Back when I was a youngster,
- I stumbled upon a secret lake.
- I had seen it in my dreams before
- so I was surprised to be awake.
- I watched it from a distance
- but nothing seemed amiss.
- The lake’s water flowed gently
- as I stared into the abyss.
- Suddenly, the sky darkened.
- The clear blue was stained gray.
- As the clouds corrupted peace
- it started to rain, to my dismay.
- When I considered running home
- my biggest flaw began to shine.
- I’m an extremely indecisive person.
- It’s like I can’t...ugh, never mind.
- I ran laps on my single track
- until the water began to whirl.
- My brain knew I needed to run...
- but I have issues. Probably neural.
- In the center of the whirlpool
- rose a dark blue Dragonair.
- It was clearly very dangerous
- but, for some reason, I couldn’t care.
- I was drawn to the madness.
- I took a step toward the lake.
- As the rain drops froze to ice
- I wondered if this was all a mistake.
- Approaching the edge of hell,
- I called the monster’s name.
- “Hey there, Dragonair!
- Would you like to play a game?”
- The sky opened up in an instant.
- The storm was gone in one blink.
- My brain derped from the mindfuck.
- I swear I'd forgotten how to think!
- The Dragonair swam over to my side.
- It stared into my eyes violently.
- I held my ground and with my hand
- I reached into my pocket silently.
- Moments passed and I drew my hand.
- I cranked back my arm, ready to swing.
- There, in my palm, lied a big rubber ball.
- And like a Slaking gone mad I gave it a Fling.
- The ball soared across the lake
- before disappearing beneath the surface.
- The Dragonair looked back at me
- and I couldn’t help but feel nervous.
- “I bet you can’t find the ball!”
- I grinned with trollish hums.
- But then I realized that the game
- was actually pretty dumb.
- It skewered me with its horn
- before disappearing into the depths.
- I lied on the ground, wriggling in pain,
- and I was sure I’d bleed to death.
- Was it not for the Heal Pulse
- of a gentle, wild Chimecho
- I’d say I'd probably be dead right now.
- But I’m happy, as far regrets go.
