  1. At the Canterlot Wedding, Chrysalis wasn’t blown away from the city.
  2. Instead she was weakened and locked away in the castle’s dungeon.
  3.
  4. >Your shoes echo ominously as you traverse the deep corridors and halls of the infinitely deep dungeon.
  5. >It’s kind of unnerving, especially considering how the rest of Canterlot Castle is pretty easy on the eyes.
  6. >But down here, the air was as chilly as deep caves and torches were scarce, illuminating the long, winding paths imperfectly.
  7. >You pass cell after cell on your way, thick bars of solid metal keeping in any prisoners trapped.
  8. >Along with shackles hanging from the rear walls within their confined spaces.
  9. >All the cells are empty, though.
  10. >Except for one.
  11. >After a long trek through the gloomy dungeon, you eventually reach a specific cell.
  12. >Slightly larger than most others, it nonetheless only holds one prisoner.
  13. >A special prisoner, of course.
  14. >You take a seat on a simple wooden bench before the cell.
  15. >Within it a dark figure stares back at you.
  16. >It stands up on four legs and walks towards you.
  17. >Metal chains that attach her forelegs to the hind counterparts jingle.
  18. >Their limited length makes only walking is possible. Trotting would be clumsy, galloping just wouldn’t happen.
  19. >Strong bindings wrapped around the torso hold the insect-like wings against the body and keep them from granting flight.
  20. >An exotic gem strapped to the vicious-looking horn suppresses its magic properties.
  21. >Queen Chrysalis stops by the cell’s bars and looks at you.
  22. >”You’re back.”
  23. ”Yeah.”
  24. >One of her eyebrows moves up.
  25. >”I thought you were done with your interviews.”
  26. >The Princesses had initially tasked you with trying to find out whatever you could about Chrysalis’ (failed) plans and minions.
  27. ”You weren’t exactly providing any clear answers.”
  28. >Turns out she has a sly tongue and is excellent at saying things that don’t really say anything specific.
  29. >She smirks.
  30. >”Well, why would I? I’m already in your dungeon. I don’t see why I should have to grant you more than that.”
  31. ”It’s not really mine.”
  32. >”Doesn’t matter.”
  33. >She tugs at the chain linking her right foreleg with the right hindleg, with a bored look on her face.
  34. >”So… Why are you here this time?”
  35. >You shrug.
  36. >Getting to chat with a national enemy and highly magical creature seemed like an attractive idea.
  37. >The guardsponies outside let you enter without a word.
  38. >You suspect they still think you’re coming for the interviews, but you didn’t bother to ask.
  39. ”Care for a friendly chat?”
  40. >She gives you a confused look.
  41. >”Friendly chat?”
  42. >You just look at her.
  43. >She stares back.
  44. >Then she grins with obvious amusement.
  45. >Her teeth are pretty scary.
  46. >”A friendly chit-chat? Really? Well, I suppose this hollow places does get rather lonely after a while.”
  47. >One of her dark hooves lightly taps against one of her cell’s bars.
  48. >”So, what subject would you like to bring up? Battle-plans? Resources? Troop-management?”
  49. ”I’m NOT here to pry about your military anymore.”
  50. >”Uh-huh.”
  51. ”Seriously.”
  52. >”Says the princesses’ ape.”
  53. ”Not cool.”
  54. >”Sorry, must be a bit grumpy after being humiliated and imprisoned.”
  55. >You sigh.
  56. >She chuckles.
  57. >The sound is both pleasant and eerie.
  58. >”Well, you do still amuse me.”
  59. >Gee, how wonderful.
  60. >She’s a weird… mare?
  61. >Well, she was obviously female.
  62. >And MOSTLY pony-like.
  63. >Except for all the insect-like details.
  64. >And then some, honestly.
  65. >”You’re staring.”
  66. >You snap out of your study.
  67. ”Oh. Uh, sorry?”
  68. >She grins again.
  69. >”Don’t worry, I don’t mind.”
  70. >She walks along the bars, turning her side towards you while watching you.
  71. >”I’m not one of those prude mares I’m sure you’re used to.”
  72. >Now it’s your turn to raise an eyebrow.
  73. ”Not surprised. You’re basically a succubus.”
  74. >She stops.
  75. >She looks confused.
  76. >”A… what?”
  77. >Right. This is ponyland.
  78. ”Nevermind.”
  79. >For all it’s similarities to Earth and humanity, there are still differences.
  80. ”My point is, you’d just try to seduce me.”
  81. >The scary part is, she could have a chance at succeeding.
  82. >During your time in Equestria you had, against all expectations, become used to the idea of “getting it on” with pony mares.
  83. >Yeah.
  84. >Time and proper circumstances do wonders, apparently.
  85. >She snorts.
  86. >”Oh please. In this place, I’m not exactly in a position to do much in any way.”
  87. >She looks back, down at herself.
  88. >Well, she IS pretty well taken care of.
  89. >Her head turns back to you.
  90. >Her green predatory eyes give you an intense look.
  91. >”I’m completely helpless…”
  92. >Her voice travels the empty dungeon like a foreboding omen.
  93. ”… You do realize that you’re scary as hell when you say it like that, right?”
  94. >Her face immediately contorts into an offended expression.
  95. >”Well, you’re no fun.”
  96. >You can’t help but snicker at her reaction.
  97. >She begins waltzing around her cell while speaking rather loudly.
  98. >”Here I am, completely powerless, the Queen of changelings and glorious enemy to the “great” Equestria…”
  99. >Her head snaps back to you with a disappointed glare.
  100. >”… and you, all alone with no witnesses, don’t even think of laying a hoo- hand on me?”
  101. >She stomps back to the bars, coming as close as she can to you.
  102. >”A dull male indeed.”
  103. >You stare at her.
  104. >Both at her and her display, actually.
  105. >Then you…
  106. >You grin.
  107. >And you start laughing.
  108. >Is she serious?
  109. “You WANT me to… what? Fuck you?”
  110. >”Crass language. I prefer ‘mate’ or perhaps ‘rut’.”
  111. >She just smirks.
  112. ”Too bad. If you want to get laid, try some of the guards.”
  113. >”Oh please. They’re so stoic I doubt there’s any real activity happening in their brains.”
  114. ”Yeah, well, too bad. I’m not risking falling into any trap of yours.”
  115. >”I’m not going to be here forever, you know.”
  116. >You give her a sceptical look.
  117. “Oh really? Think they’ll pardon you, or are you talking about your execution?”
  118. >She gives you another of her scary grins.
  119. >”Neither, of course.”
  120. >Some of the conversation’s previous humour suddenly leaves you.
  121. >Her grin doesn’t go anywhere.
  122. >”Oh no~, did I let something important slip?”
  123. >One of her hooves goes to her mouth in a mockery of a shocked expression.
  124. >You frown.
  125. “You do realize, if I happen to pass this one to the princesses or some guards…”
  126. >She just gives you an unimpressed look.
  127. >”Then what? They would tighten the security? I haven’t told you any useful details, and a few more patrols wouldn’t change anything, ape.”
  128. ”I’m still not an ape.”
  129. >”You’re close enough.”
  130. ”You’ve been trying to seduce an ape, then.”
  131. >”I’ve had worse.”
  132. ”... What?”
  133. >She giggles at the expression on your face.
  134. >”I’m not picky.”
  135. >She winks with her emerald, slitted eye.
  136. >Not totally sure what to say to that statement.
  137. ”… Okay…”
  138. >Her tone suddenly turns more serious.
  139. >”I suppose it’s a strange concept to your kind, but we changelings take love where we can get it. We don’t have your restrictions.”
  140. >Well, that should’ve been pretty obvious.
  141. ”And I guess being able to change helps.”
  142. >”Sometimes, certainly.”
  143. ”I’m still not letting myself fall victim to any of your trickery, though.”
  144. >She rolls her eyes.
  145. >”I’m getting out of here one way or another. Might as well be the enjoyable one.”
  146. “You’re just trying to manipulate me.”
  147. >”So?”
  148. >You rub your forehead in exasperation.
  149. “It should be pretty obvious.”
  150. >She gives you an amused look.
  151. >It was often difficult to tell when she was seriously trying to deceive you and when she was just having fun.
  152. “You know what? I think I’ve spent enough time down here with you for now.”
  153. >You stand up from your seat.
  154. >”Aww, so soon?”
  155. >The look on her face is comically sad.
  156. >Yeah, she’s being sarcastic.
  157. ”Yeah. Sorry to disappoint and all that.”
  158. >”I’m sure. Oh well, I suppose a Queen’s presence can be a bit much for a mere ape.”
  159. >Christ, she never stops.
  160. ”You go ahead and think that, if you like. I’ll just leave you in this dark pit in the meantime.”
  161. >That actually seems to knock her teasing mood down a notch.
  162. >She gives you a mild but very perceivable glare.
  163. >You turn around and begin your march through the creepy corridors that lead outside.
  164. >The two of you have never exchanged formal goodbyes with any of your visits.
  165. >But then she sends a few oddly serious-sounding words after you.
  166. >”Do come back.”
  167. >You pause.
  168. >And then continue.
  169. >Sure, you’d come back another time.
