  1. So you've seen that tired old team with bravebird talonflame, arena hazard ferrothorn, washtom, blah blah blah, is everybody afraid to try something different? I'm not. My team is:
  2. http://pastebin.com/wNtb9VbR
  3. I challenge random teams using pokemonshowdown and save the ragequit replays here (note that all battles take place in OU):

  5. I was actually kinda excited to find another gardevoir user, but he quit before he sent it out, and it was probably a mega anyway. Even though I fucked up and switched to the wrong pokemon once, I still won without any of my team fainting
  6. >>http://pokemonshowdown.com/replay/pokebankoubeta-66985932
  7. Not as bad as many, but still had talonflame, this one with gale wing and flare blitz (not that it mattered). I didn't even get a chance to fight the salamence, which probably had a nickname like "scrotum-licker" or some other "edgy" bs. Oh yeah, and people realize that shiny pokemon have the same stats as their regular counterparts, right?

  9. I'll give this guy some credit for using swampert, but he opened up with a jirachi, and had a rotom-w though he didn't use it before ragequitting. Also a bit of luck on my part, with eating the berry of the pokemon he switched to, but he shouldn't have tried to continue his plan with that low of HP.

  11. Rotom-w, talonflame, and jirachi. Why can't I hold all these OUs? Well, at least I can obliterate them. I was hoping to be able to fight his manectric, as I don't think I've ever fought one, but he quit before bringing it out. These teams are so predictable; the only surprise was that he didn't try to wall with jirachi

  13. No more need to go to pokebank OU, regular works now. What also works is making this guy ragequit in two turns. Taunt+suckerpunch is a hell of a combo
  14. >>http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-78070429
  15. Again, two turns is all it takes and everybody's strats go down the drain.

  17. As soon as the match is made, I'm going from left to right thinking "Mega, arena hazards, king shield/sacred sword, brave bird...), and low and behold, his ferrothorn's stealth rock was blocked by my taunt. I knew he was going to switch out so I sword dance'd, and he switched in his alakazam; who knows what it was going to use, probably focus miss, but I sucker punched it right into forfeit. I'm almost considering trying out running solo Bisharp. Just to mess with people. But nah; all my bros get represented.

  19. Floundered a bit with his aegislash, but came through eventually. I like to imagine that the name of the last pokemon he sent out is his reaction
  20. >>http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-81768361
  21. Arena hazards, etc. Don't really have a comment for all of these
  22. >>http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-81772802
  23. How about dem ragequits
  24. >>http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-82571211
  25. He REALLY wanted to do that whole "make the opponent switch into arena hazards" thing. It REALLY didn't work out for him.
  26. >>http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-82578385
  27. Another one-pokemon ragequit. Taunt+suckerpunch op plz nerf
  28. >>http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-83368861
  29. Mandy gets pretty good rep this game. Sure the toxic orb puts her on a timer, but she can one-shot most pokemon once it activates; get a swords dance up and she's damn near unstoppable.

  31. Legends will not save you
  32. >>http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-105974793
  33. Not even really my team being amazing so much as the enemy being pants-on-head retarded.
  34. >>http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-105977054
  35. If you saw me taunt the first set-up pokemon, why would you switch to another? Did he not expect me to recognize smeargle as one of the 5 set-up pokemon that everybody uses?
  36. >>http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-154305750
  37. Gave lassy a bit of time in the limelight, and she did really good. One-shotted a dragonite (4x weak, I know, but still) and completely shut down a venusaur. I really should stop relying on Xzanos so much, but damn, the fact that the enemy's espeon didn't have any moves that could effect him let me set up to make him start one-shotting things left and right
  38. >>http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-154308875
  39. Another case of "shinies don't make your pokemon stronger". Dude was pretty retarded for not switching out when I taunted his ninjask, instead choosing to struggle until he had pretty much no hp left.
  40. >>http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-177838050
  41. do I really need to say anything about taunt anymore?
  42. >>http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-191500864
  43. So much for your legends
  44. >>http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-215130756
  45. God rotom w is a pain
  46.

  49. Not ragequits, but rather one-sided victories against competitive teams:
  50. >>http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-78073334
  51. You know what I haven't seen in a long time? A trevnant that wasn't shiny. Anyway, this guy used several of the gimicky tactics: walls, statuses, forcing your opponent to switch into stealth rocks, and so on, but none of them worked.
  52. >>http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-81770526
  53. On one hand, you don't really see any crobats, but on the other hand, everybody ever has a volcarona and especially ferrothorn
  54. >>http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-155160307
  55. Gotta admit, never seen a regice before. Perhaps this is why?
  56. >>http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-159608561
  57. I could've finished this a lot sooner if I didn't do my best to avoid using Mandy and Xzanos. Guess I'm still in a mood from the second match in the next section down below
  58. >>http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-215131827
  59. Taking megavoir out for a spin. It's kinda awkward how it makes her moves dual-typed, but on the other hand, I like how poofy her dress is.
  60.
  61. I lost this one (it was close, but still), but I feel it necessary to commemorate that 1/24/2014 was the first time that Lassy has ever been useful:
  62. >>http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-80907304
  63. I feel kinda bad that I'm making a big deal of it when certain team members do well, but honestly, xzanos and mandy usually end up stealing the show. Guile and Yuna get a fair amount of face time, but they don't sweep, Sparx is niche, but pretty much always takes down a threat whenever I bring him out. Meanwhile Lassy pretty much only ever gets put out to poison walls and then roar them away. BUT NO MORE! Because I just realized 9/3/2014 lassy couldn't do anything to anybody: I put all of her EVs into speed rather than special attack. With the change, suddenly she can do damage. Suddenly she's a threat! And she proves it in this match where she takes down half of the enemy team on her own (though honestly it really shouldn't have happened; the enemy made some retarded plays)
  64. >>http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-159604987
  65. This guy doesn't have a meta team, but I still felt it worth saving and sharing because of dat ending
