  11. [ 2012.08.12 15:53:34 ] EVE System > Channel MOTD: The Greatroom is a slightly chilly 18°C, perfectly comfortable for most Caldari who tend to prefer cool environments. It appears expansive and impressive in all manners of the word. Apparently high ceilings and an unobstructed floor provide plenty of mingling space. Buffet tables and wandering servers provide food and drink to all attendants.Holograms of white songbirds flutter high overhead, occasionally echoing out the beautiful calls of their species. Simulated clouds and the glimmer of what might be sunlight is seen. The entire ceiling is enhanced by a holographic display that helps ease the tension caused by claustrophobic station environments. In reality, the room is much smaller than it appears. At the far end of the room, a large dias elevates a podium and table with seating for the I-RED Board of Directors. A single massive seal is mounted on the wall, flanked by great red banners that hang from the ceiling. Upon a ten ton plate of solid titanium diborite is the unmistakable crimson emblem of the Ishuk-Raata Enforcement Directive. The display dwarfs the table and podium below.Trios of men walk the borders of the room ominously. Each trio is the same, two heavily armed and armored Ishukone Watch marines following a single suited Ishuk-Raata Enforcer, a non-capsuleer employee of the alliance. They stand ready to forcibly remove or eliminate any threat to the stability or safety of the event.Rooms - I-RED Event Underclub, I-RED Event Greatroom

  14.
  15. [ 2012.08.12 18:17:27 ] Morwen Lagann > /emote returns from downstairs, setting the old instrument case down on a table near the dais. She sets the violin down next to it, then takes the bow in both hands, pulling a small object out of a pocket on the case.
  16. [ 2012.08.12 18:17:27 ] Scherezad > /emote says her good-byes and hurries back to her waiting ship
  17. [ 2012.08.12 18:18:15 ] Countess Lamorei > /emote takes the hand gently, Countess Lamorei, old friend of Johns and literal royal pain in the derrier.
  18. [ 2012.08.12 18:19:02 ] Henry Montclaire > A pleasure, Countess. The fight not to your taste?
  19. [ 2012.08.12 18:20:22 ] Countess Lamorei > Indeed not, if I wanted to watch a fight I'd prefer it with bloodlust and desperation, this is a little tame for my tastes.
  20. [ 2012.08.12 18:20:48 ] Sakaane Eionell > /emote comes upstairs and samples a bit of the buffet before placing all her items on a table with a good view of Morwen and the violin
  21. [ 2012.08.12 18:21:30 ] Henry Montclaire > /emote 's face freezes for a moment. "Ah . . . right."
  22. [ 2012.08.12 18:22:28 ] Countess Lamorei > /emote nods politely to Morwen. "Ah a little music much more apt for a little get together.
  23. [ 2012.08.12 18:23:13 ] Henry Montclaire > Interesting place. Glamourous and peacefull above, violent and dirty below. Seems all too true for so many of us, eh?
  24. [ 2012.08.12 18:23:27 ] Morwen Lagann > /emote gently pulls the hairs on the bow away from the stick, then puts the small object in between to tighten the hairs of the bow. She pulls back on the wedge gently; a soft click might be heard by anyone close enough.
  25. [ 2012.08.12 18:24:01 ] Sakaane Eionell > /emote watches with interest and remembers going through many those motions herself
  26. [ 2012.08.12 18:24:40 ] Morwen Lagann > /emote picks up the bow and inspects it carefully; the curve is outward, away from the hairs rather than towards them, and the tip is much more pointed than the more common style of bow. Satisfied, she picks up the instrument and checks the tuning again...
  27. [ 2012.08.12 18:24:47 ] Grideris > /emote reenters the room, taking a seat to the side of the room
  28. [ 2012.08.12 18:24:52 ] Countess Lamorei > Very much like a ship isn't it, the majestic outer apearance, so clean and pure, but at its heart something much darker.
  29. [ 2012.08.12 18:25:00 ] Esna Pitoojee > /emote looks up at last, seeing Morwen preparing to play.
  30. [ 2012.08.12 18:26:05 ] Henry Montclaire > When it comes to ship design, I think the Minmatar are the most honest.
  31. [ 2012.08.12 18:26:25 ] Henry Montclaire > /emote chuckles, much recovered from the smoke. He takes another sip
  32. [ 2012.08.12 18:26:36 ] Henry Montclaire > of water*.
  33. [ 2012.08.12 18:26:36 ] Countess Lamorei > /emote splutters on her wine...
  34. [ 2012.08.12 18:27:18 ] Saul Ambrye > /emote enters the hall again, pausing a moment to consider the room aesthetics as Morwen tunes
  35. [ 2012.08.12 18:27:26 ] Countess Lamorei > Honest, I would hardly say honest... if I could describe the minmatar ships in one word. Thrifty.
  36. [ 2012.08.12 18:27:49 ] Vaun Erryk > /emote re-enters, again looking across those present.
  37. [ 2012.08.12 18:28:03 ] Sakaane Eionell > /emote has made her way through the plate and thinks the morsels she picked were quite good
  38. [ 2012.08.12 18:28:04 ] Henry Montclaire > And effective. I hear they are still obliterating the Amarr militia in almost every encounter. What do you think they do to captured Amarrians?
  39. [ 2012.08.12 18:28:22 ] Henry Montclaire > /emote ponders this question.
  40. [ 2012.08.12 18:29:36 ] Countess Lamorei > Pah, whatever they can I don't doubt. Saying that though the word from the front is recent deep space politics have greatly affected the amarian militia to our advantage of late.
  41. [ 2012.08.12 18:30:23 ] Sakaane Eionell > /emote glances up and sees Saul Ambrye. They've never met but she knows his appearance from studying IPI records. She beckons him over to her table with a smile
  42. [ 2012.08.12 18:30:34 ] Henry Montclaire > But how many Amarr worlds are currently under Minmatar control?
  43. [ 2012.08.12 18:31:14 ] Sakaane Eionell > /emote hears commotion from downstairs and assumes the fight is over
  44. [ 2012.08.12 18:31:40 ] Vaun Erryk > /emote is apparently looking for someone not already involved in a conversation - or, at least, not a political one.
  45. [ 2012.08.12 18:31:41 ] Saul Ambrye > /emote catches the sight of Sakaane's summoning gesture and nods with a gracious smile as he proceeds towards her table.
  46. [ 2012.08.12 18:31:58 ] Countess Lamorei > More than the Empress is pleased with that is most certain, but we shall see in coming months what favours which side.
  47. [ 2012.08.12 18:32:23 ] Shaalira D'arc > /emote emerges from below, inhaling deeply and running a hand through her hair. She wanders towards a vacant seat near the stage.
  48. [ 2012.08.12 18:32:29 ] Henry Montclaire > Ah well, I hope everything turns out all right. War is an unhealthy pursuit for the masses.
  49. [ 2012.08.12 18:32:51 ] Grideris > /emote continues to tap away at his datapad
  50. [ 2012.08.12 18:32:58 ] Sakaane Eionell > /emote stands and bows politely > Namas, Saul. Pleasure to meet you.
  51. [ 2012.08.12 18:33:14 ] Countess Lamorei > Nonsense, its one of the only unifying trend across all four empires, each in there own way revels in warfare.
  52. [ 2012.08.12 18:33:27 ] Saul Ambrye > Madame President, I am most honored to make your acquaintence
  53. [ 2012.08.12 18:34:31 ] Henry Montclaire > That's nonsense. The abuses of those with power do not speak for the will or spirits of those who are cursed by machinations beyond their control.
  54. [ 2012.08.12 18:35:07 ] Sakaane Eionell > Won't you join me?
  55. [ 2012.08.12 18:35:19 ] Henry Montclaire > Yes, people are misled and their natures twisted, but that is not the true human spirit.
  56. [ 2012.08.12 18:35:35 ] Saul Ambrye > I would be delighted, yes
  57. [ 2012.08.12 18:35:38 ] Countess Lamorei > Sociopathic twaddle, each of the four empires uses war as a tool to its people, be it for god, profit, revenge or News ratings.
  58. [ 2012.08.12 18:35:45 ] Vaun Erryk > /emote settles for sitting relatively close to Grideris. It would be rude to interrupt, after all. Jacket unbuttoned, he seems happy either waiting or accessing implants. It's not clear which.
  59. [ 2012.08.12 18:36:46 ] Henry Montclaire > Or for defense.
  60. [ 2012.08.12 18:36:56 ] Katrina Oniseki > /emote arrives and makes her way over to Morwen quickly, whispering in her ear.
  61. [ 2012.08.12 18:37:02 ] Morwen Lagann > /emote leans over, listening
  62. [ 2012.08.12 18:37:03 ] Grideris > /emote nods to Vaun
  63. [ 2012.08.12 18:37:08 ] Tykari > /emote enters the great hall again and looks for a good seat
  64. [ 2012.08.12 18:37:21 ] Morwen Lagann > /emote nods, responding quietly.
  65. [ 2012.08.12 18:37:27 ] Katrina Oniseki > /emote nods, then moves aside, "Ladies and gentlemen, your attention and silence if you please."
  66. [ 2012.08.12 18:37:45 ] Simca Develon > /emote comes upstairs heading over to a wall to lean against.
  67. [ 2012.08.12 18:37:52 ] Saul Ambrye > /emote extends a hand towards the seat Sakaane had risen from as he pulls out his own
  68. [ 2012.08.12 18:38:44 ] Sakaane Eionell > /emote snags a small plate of appetizers off a passing tray and places it between herself and Saul as she sits down again
  69. [ 2012.08.12 18:39:13 ] Coyote Torres > /emote emerges from the staircase and looks very pleased with herself
  70. [ 2012.08.12 18:39:24 ] Katrina Oniseki > "For something a bit less sweaty and bloody - we have Morwen Lagann and her stirring tunes.", she steps off the stage and smiles, "Ms. Lagann?"
  71. [ 2012.08.12 18:39:46 ] Katrina Oniseki > /emote takes a seat next to Simca at first, then jumps a bit with an 'oh!' and heads off to find John.
  72. [ 2012.08.12 18:40:03 ] Tykari > /emote sits down and starts typing on his datapad again while keeping an eye on the room, watching everything
  73. [ 2012.08.12 18:40:12 ] Morwen Lagann > /emote grins, then steps up onto the dais, giving the violin a quick check once more. She nods to herself, satisfied, then begins to play. (( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQ52jDGsGP0 ))
  74. [ 2012.08.12 18:40:18 ] Sakaane Eionell > /emote leans toward Saul and says quietly > I've been pleased to see you and members of IPREX returning to the public eye lately. Perhaps we could talk about that at a later time?
  75. [ 2012.08.12 18:40:24 ] Morwen Lagann > /emote opens the piece with a series of longer, low notes alternating with higher figures of short notes. She sways slightly on her feet as she repeats the group once at a much softer volume.
  76. [ 2012.08.12 18:40:24 ] Simca Develon > /emote chuckles at Kat then sits back to watch Morwen.
  77. [ 2012.08.12 18:40:46 ] Morwen Lagann > /emote continues swaying as she plays louder again, beginning a series of faster notes; her bow bounces lightly across the strings as she plays a few upward arpeggios leading into the next phrase.
  78. [ 2012.08.12 18:41:10 ] Morwen Lagann > /emote takes advantage of the bow's shape to play a chord across three strings before leading into a pair of faster downward runs; a trilled cadence follows, leading to a slight key change and a short, repeating phrase that becomes progressively softer.
  79. [ 2012.08.12 18:41:17 ] Turelus > /emote looks around for a friendly face before going and taking a seat on his own with his drink.
  80. [ 2012.08.12 18:41:40 ] Morwen Lagann > /emote begins another downward run of notes that end in another cadence; the following phrase leading into a repeating set of trills, chords and normal notes - chord, high note, trill; chord, high note, trill.
  81. [ 2012.08.12 18:42:13 ] Morwen Lagann > /emote picks up speed again, an upward scale of notes that are followed by another set of trills like before; a series of moving notes leads into a slow, gentle ending for the movement.
  82. [ 2012.08.12 18:42:33 ] Sakaane Eionell > /emote sits back to listen to the performance and watches Morwen with a gentle smile
  83. [ 2012.08.12 18:42:56 ] Morwen Lagann > /emote begins the second movement with a light touch; briefly it seems almost as if she is playing melody and a harmony at the same time. Morwen's bow bounces from string to string in a swift bariolage; a scale and short trill before repeating.
  84. [ 2012.08.12 18:43:18 ] Morwen Lagann > /emote leans forward slightly as she begins a series of quick notes strung together. The melody from the beginning of the movement returns briefly, before she performs a bariolage similar to the first, but in a slightly different key.
  85. [ 2012.08.12 18:43:49 ] Morwen Lagann > /emote plays another three-note chord, and again it seems as if she is playing two different lines at once before her bow begins bouncing back and forth between two strings in an upward scale. Another trill, and then another series of quick notes.
  86. [ 2012.08.12 18:44:17 ] Morwen Lagann > /emote returns to the original theme for this movement again, this time the dual-line technique is much more prominent. The original bariolage returns, then Morwen finishes off the movement with three slow, but somewhat exaggerated chords.
  87. [ 2012.08.12 18:44:50 ] Morwen Lagann > /emote takes a breath, then begins the next movement, a much slower piece. She makes extensive use of the dual-line technique, playing a slower, more sedate harmony under a lighter melody on the upper strings.
  88. [ 2012.08.12 18:44:55 ] Katrina Oniseki > /emote returns with John and takes a seat with him, then hands him another glass of water with aspirin.
  89. [ 2012.08.12 18:45:37 ] Morwen Lagann > /emote closes her eyes as she plays a brief trilled cadence before beginning another dual-line section, the melody underneath the harmony this time; a few ornamental turns here and there break up its steady rhythm.
  90. [ 2012.08.12 18:45:46 ] Esna Pitoojee > /emote humms softly, watching Morwen play.
  91. [ 2012.08.12 18:46:02 ] Morwen Lagann > /emote takes another breath, then begins playing the beginning of the movement again; the tone more firm than before. She slows down as the movement reaches its end, another brief trill leading to a soft, fading chord.
  92. [ 2012.08.12 18:46:11 ] John Revenent > /emote takes the seat, and the glass of water but ignores the painkillers.
  93. [ 2012.08.12 18:46:31 ] Morwen Lagann > /emote pauses briefly, then begins playing the second movement once more, her movements exaggerated as she adds embellishments and ornamental turns to the melody.
  94. [ 2012.08.12 18:46:51 ] Morwen Lagann > /emote straightens up as she begins playing quickly, the notes ringing out from her instrument as her fingers dance on the strings. This second round with the movement is more forceful, not harsh-sounding, but with a fuller, richer sound.
  95. [ 2012.08.12 18:46:59 ] Saul Ambrye > /emote tilts his head, listening as much to the room acoustics as the direct sound
  96. [ 2012.08.12 18:47:18 ] Morwen Lagann > /emote begins another round of bariolage, the bow twitching up and down on every beat to catch the 'off' note; the quick notes return again briefly, and then she closes her eyes as she returns to playing both melody and harmony simultaneously.
  97. [ 2012.08.12 18:47:28 ] Tykari > /emote is silently humming along with the tunes as he continues typing, now looking down at his datapad
  98. [ 2012.08.12 18:48:09 ] Morwen Lagann > /emote pauses to take a small breath, then continues playing; as before, the original bariolage returns, followed a short scale. The two repeat once more, and Morwen closes the piece with the same three chords, letting the sound ring in the air.
  99. [ 2012.08.12 18:48:57 ] Sakaane Eionell > /emote applauds, a grin lighting up her face
  100. [ 2012.08.12 18:49:04 ] Katrina Oniseki > /emote stands and applauds.
  101. [ 2012.08.12 18:49:14 ] Grideris > /emote claps
  102. [ 2012.08.12 18:49:16 ] Sakaane Eionell > Bravo!
  103. [ 2012.08.12 18:49:17 ] Turelus > /emote places his glass down and stands to applaud
  104. [ 2012.08.12 18:49:19 ] Morwen Lagann > /emote slowly takes the bow off of the strings, bowing to those assembled with a grin.
  105. [ 2012.08.12 18:49:20 ] Saul Ambrye > /emote stands in ovation
  106. [ 2012.08.12 18:49:26 ] Simca Develon > /emote pushes off the wall and begins applauding.
  107. [ 2012.08.12 18:49:30 ] Coyote Torres > /emote applauds
  108. [ 2012.08.12 18:49:33 ] John Revenent > /emote applauds.
  109. [ 2012.08.12 18:49:40 ] Vaun Erryk > /emote stands, of course to applaud.
  110. [ 2012.08.12 18:49:41 ] Countess Lamorei > /emote claps approval.
  111. [ 2012.08.12 18:49:49 ] Jev North > /emote applauds.
  112. [ 2012.08.12 18:50:00 ] Katrina Oniseki > /emote grins wide at Morwen, still clapping.
  113. [ 2012.08.12 18:50:00 ] Henry Montclaire > /emote joins the standing ovation.
  114. [ 2012.08.12 18:50:17 ] Saul Ambrye > Magnifique!
  115. [ 2012.08.12 18:50:20 ] Esna Pitoojee > /emote stands as well, smiling widely and lapping enthusiastically.
  116. [ 2012.08.12 18:50:41 ] Akrasjel Lanate > /emote applauds.
  117. [ 2012.08.12 18:50:41 ] Shaalira D'arc > /emote claps her hands with a faint and appreciative smile.
  118. [ 2012.08.12 18:51:16 ] Katrina Oniseki > /emote steps up to the stage and bows to Morwen, thanking her quietly.
  119. [ 2012.08.12 18:51:52 ] Morwen Lagann > /emote smiles to Katrina, nodding. She moves the bow to her left hand with her instrument, then offers her hand to shake.
  120. [ 2012.08.12 18:52:16 ] Katrina Oniseki > /emote shakes Morwen's hand awkwardly, unfamiliar with the Gallente custom. "Feel free to take your time closing up here.", she says to Morwen, then turns to the crowd
  121. [ 2012.08.12 18:52:37 ] Sakaane Eionell > /emote sits back down as the applause ends and remarks > Very nice, a great piece.
  122. [ 2012.08.12 18:52:56 ] Katrina Oniseki > "And for tonight's final hosted event, we offer a lottery drawing!"
  123. [ 2012.08.12 18:53:46 ] Esna Pitoojee > /emote does raise an eyebrow at that.
  124. [ 2012.08.12 18:53:50 ] Morwen Lagann > /emote nods, grinning a little, then steps off the dais to put the instrument away. She waves to Sakaane with a "Thanks!" as she disassembles the bow, the hairs falling loose against the stick as she tugs out the small wedge.
  125. [ 2012.08.12 18:54:22 ] Saul Ambrye > Indeed, truly spirited performance
  126. [ 2012.08.12 18:54:25 ] Vaun Erryk > /emote sits back down, pleased at entertainment that was calm and lacked ideological jabs.
