XIX Diaries

October 12th, 2014

I was taken today to a place that smelled of much water by Private Faust with the company of Private Emilia and Echo as well. On the way back, Private Emilia bought me this paperbook so that I can write things down in case I forget them.
She's very helpful. I've been forgetting easy things lately, it's silly.

When we were at the board place, we rode on plastic machines that went in a circle. Echo said it was a Merry-Go-Round. I asked Emilia what Merry means and she told me that it means “happy.” I was merry when I rode it with private Asher.
The black machine went up and down and in a circle. Again and again as merry sounds played. There were other children there too, but these ones weren't my sisters.

I miss my sisters.



October 19th, 2014

Private Faust returned from a mission with his arm burnt to the bone. His life was in danger, but I cut away the dead flesh and treated him as best I could.
He needed a lot of blood to replace what was lost.
Commander Saphira says that it's a miracle that he's alive, that something's keeping him from dying.
Private Emilia wants to hold his hand, the one that's not burnt. I let her stay and operated on the other side. If he wakes up thrashing, she'll hold him down.

October 21st,2014

Private Faust woke up when Emilia left the room to speak with Saphira about something. He was in pain and angry, there was fire everywhere when I came in. He had fallen out of his bed and I was forced to sedate him lest he burn everything down.
This diary was in the other room, thank goodness.

He was angry and delirious, but another dose of sleep was good for him. Commander Marcus was the first other to arrive, he put the fire out, but I couldn't bring myself to thank him before he left.
After staring at me as he always does, he checked Asher once, asked about his condition and left after my answer.

He's scary, but I respect him. He kept the bad lady away with Asher and Emilia.

Asher woke up later, this time he wasn't angry. That made me merry.
He insisted on going to the forest for some reason, so I followed to make sure he wouldn't collapse. I have no one to restrain patients that need rest.
He drew circles and pictures in the dirt, but he was having trouble, so I helped him. I changed some when I noticed a certain pattern in them. For some reason it felt familiar.

Asher used magic to cover his burnt arm with plant matter. After checking his condition, I realized that he would still need the healing bodies found in my blood. Yet he insisted on staying in the woods. Sister Emilia decided that I'd just give him transfusions out here. It's better than arguing, she said.
That makes sense.

I still miss my sisters.
