  1. GRAVE THIEF (Rogue Archetype)
  2.
  3. When a tomb or dungeon needs explored, a rogue often finds trinkets and baubles to pocket and pawn off later for herself. Others, however, find much more value by holding onto these strange objects, sensing the latent psychic energies that lurk within ancient coins and rune-inscribed daggers.
  4.
  5.
  6. >Class Skills: A grave thief gains 4 skill ranks (plus a number of ranks equal to her Intelligence modifier) at each level instead of a normal 8. She gains Knowledge (arcana, planes, religion), Spellcraft, and Survival as class skills, and removes Diplomacy, Disguise, and Perform from their class skills. This alters the rogue’s skills.
  7.
  8. >Spellcasting: A grave thief casts psychic spells drawn from the occultist spell list, limited by the implement groups she knows (see below). She learns, knows, and casts spells exactly as an occultist does, including adding new spells from gaining new implements and gaining additional spells known. A grave thief can cast only a certain number of spells of each spell level per day, with the same base daily spell allotment as an occultist.
  9.
  10. >Focus Powers (Su): At 1st level, a grave thief learns the base focus power from her implement school (see below) and can select one more focus power from the list of those available to her through that school. Whenever the grave thief learns a new implement school, she gains the base power of that school. The grave thief treats her rogue level as her occultist level for purposes of determining how her implements' focus powers work, and for determining at what level she may choose certain focus powers.
  11. Unlike an occultist, each of a grave thief's focus powers has its own associated implement. For example, a grave thief might own a bell with a sinister tone to use the planar ward focus power and an implement that is an old brooch to use the energy shield focus power. The grave thief must have the implement in-hand to use its associated focus power, but she needs only one implement of a school to cast spells of that school, and she assigns mental focus to the entire school at once to be shared with all implements. She gains resonant powers from her implements only if she carries all of those from a school on her person at once (and anyone who wishes to benefit from a resonant power must carry all of her implements from a single school on their person at once). Otherwise, this ability acts like the occultist's implements class feature. At 2nd, 6th, 10th, 14th, and 18th levels, the grave thief learns to use one additional implement school.
  12. Each time a grave thief learns an implement school, she learns the base focus power from that school, plus one focus power from each implement school he has previously learned (but not from the new school he just learned). The grave thief can use focus powers only by expending mental focus (see below). Unless otherwise noted, the DC for any saving throw against a focus power equals 10 + 1/2 the grave thief's rogue level + the grave thief's Intelligence modifier. The grave thief can select a school she already knows, and in this case, she gains a total of two new focus powers from that school (instead of learning the base focus power from the new school).
  13. This replaces the rogue talents gained at 2nd, 6th, 10th, 14th, and 18th levels.
  14.
  15. >Mental Focus (Su): Beginning at 1st level, like an occultist, a grave thief has mental focus she can invest into her implements each day to allow her to utilize abilities tied to them. A grave thief has a number of points of mental focus equal to half her rogue level + her Intelligence modifier.
  16.
  17. >Treasure Obsession (Su): At 2nd level, a grave thief can read information from items she examines, and gains the occultist's object reading ability. In addition, a grave warden's single-minded devotion to finding more trinkets allow her to use the dowsing and psychometry occult skill unlocks an additional number of times per day each equal to her Intelligence modifier.
  18. This ability replaces evasion, uncanny dodge, and improved uncanny dodge. However, a grave thief may gain evasion or uncanny dodge instead of a rogue talent, and beginning at 12th level if she has evasion or uncanny dodge from any source she may gain improved evasion or improved uncanny dodge instead of an advanced talent.
  19.
  20. >Sneak Attack (Ex): The grave thief doesn’t acquire the sneak attack class feature until 3rd level, when she gains a +1d6 sneak attack. This increases by 1d6 at 7th level, and again at every 4 rogue levels thereafter.
  21. This modifies the rogue’s normal sneak attack progression.
