- At least the Nurse is kind of cute. He’s gotta be, what, ten years older than me?

- He seems more interested in the spider than in me. But I suppose that’s important when dealing with a spider bite. At least it isn’t one of those black widows…do they have brown widows? I’ve heard of a brown recluse before. With their haemotoxic venom. Painful stuff. Oh god. What if that happened to me? What if-
- “Are you ok?”
- “Hm?”
- “You’re hyperventilating.”
- “Am I?”
- “Um, yes. You aren’t realizing this?”
- “I was thinking of stuff.”
- “Like?”
- No one ever asks really what you’re thinking about and expects to get the truth. No one except medical professionals.
- “What kind of spider it is.”
- “It doesn’t have any of the markings of any traditionally deadly spiders. Now you say you felt an intense burning sensation?”
- Not like I’m not having that feeling looking at you, doc.
- “Yes, sir.”
- He chuckles. Oh god, he’s on to me.
- “No need to be so formal, Amaya. I’m the school Nurse. Just call me Nurse.”
- “Aiko.”
- “Aiko. I will remember that.”
- “So am I free to go?”
- “I’d like to keep you here just a little while longer for observation, if you don’t mind. Just to make sure everything’s alright. Does that sound fine to you?”
- You bet your sweet ass it is.
- “Sure.”
