  1. “I’m getting ready!” I scream out from the inside of my room, hoping my voice would reach my friend even when my door is shut. Adrenaline and rush surges throughout my body, as I quickly pick out some of my favorite clothes to choose between; today, I’m heading out to the carnival! Along with my friends of course. Slowly, I unleash a full sleeve, navy blue dress from the hanger as I jump and jump to make it fit on me. Just as it set on me perfectly, a vague smile crawled on my face. The length of the dress was appropriate, thank god, as it reached just a little bit above the knee. “Are you coming or what?!” I hear a displeased voice from the living room, as I looked at myself in the mirror for the last time, grabbed my over-the-shoulder bag and head out to see my friend.
  2. Glenda, my friend, was leaning against the sofa, her green eyes glowing at me with annoyance. “Are you ready your majesty?” She teases, before she walks out in front of me; despite the fact that throughout our trip to the carnival she was picking and teasing on me, I couldn’t care less. This was my first ever time heading out to a fair! I’m so excited that maybe, nothing can dim that bright hope to have the best day of my life in me. Soon before I know it, Glenda pulls the her car’s engine to a stop and looks at me. “Let’s roll out.” She says as she laughs, before clicking open her door. As I arise out of the mini red car, I witness the greatest thing in the world. Lights bursting out from every corner; colors clashing into each other to make new colors. Screaming, running, laughing, giggling! It was all of the joys of life at once. Roller coasters dart in full speed non-stop, and simple carousels like a merry-go-round, were packed with families with kids. “This is..” My words trailed off into nothingness as I stared in awe. “Gorgeous right? Same thoughts just like you the first time I came here. The only difference was that I was a kid.”
  3. We both point everywhere, not sure where to go first. Of course, Glenda gave me the first pick, so I say “That one!” I point at a machine that reach about 20meters high, there were two pillars that height, and at the top of each one, a string would run until the bottom ground. The string was elastic, and wherever both strings intersect, there was a seat for two people. “Are you sure?” She asks me, and I can see doubt in her eyes. I nod and run towards it. As we wobble around to make ourselves comfortable, there was no evasion of our arms touching each other. The operator clipped us in tightly, and laughed. We will never know he had the sudden urge to laugh, but before I know it, we are now being tossed 25meters high up in the air, almost touching the clouds and doing somersaults here and there. I’m witnessing all of this in amusement, but Glenda on the other hand, is screaming at the top of her lungs. The ride felt instant for me, but apparently it was going on for 3 minutes. Never would’ve noticed.
  4. After about 2 hours worth of mix of rides, I finally point to the Merry-Go-Round and say, “Let’s remember the good old times!” Glenda agrees immediately, as I’m guessing she doesn’t want me to take her to another deadly ride. The crowd was gone by the time it was evening, so we got in quite quickly and we sat down on individual horses, painted with beautiful designs. I deliberately sat in front of Glenda so that nobody was in front of me to block the amazing view. Slowly, the ride started rotating, and rotating, moving our horses gently up and down in rhythmical pace. Every noise around me dies out, as I’m trying to focus just on the sound of the wind and the music emitting from the ride. It was “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” and suddenly I feel extremely nostalgic. I need nothing right now, just for this moment to last forever. However, as I turn around to see Glenda with a big smile on my face, I see her, and her own pool of blood dripping beneath her. The belts on the horse held her body up, however she was lifeless, clothes dyed in crimson color and eyes rolled up. My hands quickly shot up to my mouth to prevent myself from vomiting, as I witnessed the scene in horror. Slowly, very gently, a figure arises behind Glenda’s horse. “Twinkle twinkle, little star..” the deep voice sings to me, it’s eyes glow red, as I can see the fabric it’s wearing is dyed with Glenda’s blood. “No!!” I scream as I close my eyes and ears in horror. However, I can hear the voice coming closer, it’s footsteps tapping on the metal floor, and the ride still gently rotating and rotating. “How I wonder what you are..” It’s near. “Up above the world so high..” I can sense the aura emitting from it next to me. “Like a diamond in the sky.” The breath was on my neck, as the last lyrics trailed into my ear. I shot my eyes open, to see no one. I look around me, I’m not in the ride anymore. I’m in the center of the carnival. Everything is paused. Everything around me is motionless. People frozen with the smile on their faces. I kneel down, breath rapidly, peel out the hair from my mouth, scream in vain. What is happening? Why? How? What? Who? All these questions ran around my head, as my screams lasted forever. And slowly, the sharpness of a knife pierces through my back, and I can feel my own warm blood drool below.
  5. I open my eyes, as I sit in the pure white bed, in the pure white room. My hands are clipped behind my back, and a mask over my face. “Her schizophrenia is getting worse, as she wakes up in the middle of the night screaming. At times, she would sing ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’ at any given moment. All of the employees here are scared to approach her, since we all know she used to be a psychopathic killer in the carnivals.” A fast yet clear voice emits from behind the metal door. I could see his face, over the little window engraved into the door. I stand up, and approach the door, and stare out to the doctor and Glenda, who was now patiently listening to the doctor. “I love carnivals. Can you take me to the carnival? Carnivals are so fun. I swear, I’ll have fun. I just want to go to the carnival. I want to go to Merry-Go-Round. I love carnivals.” Slowly my words trail off into a non-stop playback. Maybe they will understand me. Soon.
