- Homo-Arachtus, Spinner
- ======================
- Homo-arachtus, or simply arachtus, are an upright-walking intelligent spider race, indigeonous to the underground caverns of many parts of the world... or were. The race is almost entirely extinct, having been eradicated from most locations for either being extraordinarily xenophobic, just plain frightening, or because the elaborate and impressive lairs they built were far too appealing to evil dark-dweller races such as the drow. Unlike the drow, the homo-arachtus were so intensely opposed to cooperating with fellow tribes that they ultimately would not even band together for strength and survival in most cases.
- Currently, the species resides in perhaps only a couple safe havens worldwide. It is not ironic or coincidental that these were the only places where two or more tribes manage to live in relative peace together. Able to struggle through the first few generations of lasting xenophobia after joining, these silk-draped lands now enjoy mostly harmony between their various arachtan geneologies, and arachtan explorers even occasionally venture out to meet and (adventure with) other races now.
- ==Abilities== +2 Dex, +2 Int, -2 Cha
- ==Type== Monstrous Humanoid
- ==Size== Medium
- ==Speed== 30ft, climb 20ft
- ==Languages== Common, Undercommon
- ==Other== +4 Stealth
- Low-Light Vision 60ft
- ==Edgeweb (Ex)==
- Once every minute (10 rounds), the arachtus can spin a web with all the effects of the Web spell, except where noted here.
- The web's cast range is only 10 feet at first level, but gains 10ft range with each level. The web's area of effect is two adjacent spaces, but each such segment must have its endpoints connecting two surfaces that both lie within its own 5ft space (eg. placed along a wall or corner of a room).
- The save DC is equal to 10 + 1/2 the arachtus's level plus his Intelligence modifier. At 5th level and every 5 levels beyond, Edgeweb may affect an additional adjacent space.
- ==Web Rope (Ex)==
- The arachtus never needs to fear running out of rope, and never needs to make any rolls to pull a willing Medium creature's weight (or its own) with web rope.
- ==Stability (Ex)==
- The arachtus gains a +4 bonus to CMD to avoid being tripped.

- Homo-Arachtus, Leaper
- =====================
- ==Abilities== +2 Dex, +2 Con, -2 Cha
- ==Type== Monstrous Humanoid
- ==Size== Medium
- ==Speed== 20ft, climb 20ft
- ==Languages== Common, Undercommon
- ==Other== +4 Acrobatics
- Low-Light Vision 60ft
- ==Support Arms (Ex)==
- The leaper arachtus bring their second set of arms up to aid them in personal combat. While not strong enough to wield a weapon like the main set of hands, they can be used to steady the weapon(s) held in the main hands, giving the full benefit of wielding a weapon in more than one hand (for example, wielding two weapons and gaining 1.5x strength on damage for each, and counting as two-handing for the purposes of Power Attack). This does not change the penalty for wielding two weapons with a non-light weapon in the off-hand, so most leaper arachtus that engage in combat still limit themselves to one-handed weapons if they can train themselves for the Oversized Two-Weapon Fighting feat.
- ==Support Legs (Ex)==
- The leaper arachtus can jump while climbing any near-vertical surface as if it had a running start.

- ==Web Drag (Combat)==
- Prerequisite: Web range 30ft
- Benefit: When you have a creature or object grappled or otherwise unable to move in your web, you may pull them back in your direction as if attempting a Bull Rush combat maneuver from the other direction (by whatever distance the check determines), and may use whichever is higher between your Dexterity or Strength. You do not provoke attacks of opportunities for doing this.
- ==Oversized Two-Weapon Fighting (Combat)==
- Prerequisite: Str 13, Two-Weapon Fighting
- Benefit: When wielding a one-handed weapon in your off-hand, you only take penalties for fighting with two weapons as if you were wielding a light weapon in your off-hand.
