Roaring God versus Renegade Dragon Part 2: Finale

NOMI understands that Numbers 73 will not fall. It is that simple. The world is robbed from underneath her risen feet, the air is whisked away into nothingness, and the sky itself forfeits to an expanse of infinity. This is 'that simple', and yet it is also complex because as they tear apart the Duel around them, NOMI feels something joining inside of her.

The sight is met with acceptance. For, when these two great Xyz Monsters clashed, it was just as it should be -- this is the sight of a real battle. It was what she'd been preparing Shin'ichi for.

Still, it is such a grandeur thing. Her strange eyes are locked upon the clash. It is something which can not be stopped versus something that can not be moved. The world must change to accommodate something like that.

Of course, it already has.

NOMI, for the first instance in a long while, realizes that she can recognize a sensation inside of her. It is the sensation of excitement, and of accomplishment. Her right hand has curled into a fist and her arms show from underneath her black jacket. She has always been fair and gentile, guiding through experience rather than brute force.

So this tight curling of her fist and resolute air about her contrasts that, just as the white of her dress contrasts the black of her coat.

This is a chance for them to conquer something new. To surpass, and to evolve. That is what excites NOMI. With a turn of her head, she manages to peel her attention away from the battling Monsters in order to pay her mind to Shin'ichi.

How fearsome he can be. This is something that she knows, yet it strikes her as if a new realization as she drags her eyes over the darkness he is exuding. He's dangerous and he is strong, just like Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon. It is not inherently 'bad'. But it is striking to be presented with a visualization of how much he actually has hidden away.

That's fine, of course.

That's what she's here for. What she's always been here for. "Don't falter. This is perfect."


Moriyama, Shinichi only nods in response. His eyes are locked onto the form of Abyss Splash, which managed to survive destruction at the hands of Disobey, the most powerful attack his deck could muster. There were no cards on ROCKER's field that could have perserved it, so the teen comes to the conclusion that it was an effect of the Number that prevented its destruction, unfortunately. It still didn't change the outcome; Abyss Splash couldn't beat Dark Rebellion even if it used its effect again, while Shinichi could merely steal its battle power again and end the duel.

"T---" Before he can speak, the snowy landscape around them begins to decompose under something --- was it the summoning of Dark Rebellion? The clash of his ace monster and the Number? Either way, they were left standing on absolutely nothing in the middle of what seemed to be space, judging by the numerous stars racing past them. If he wasn't so focused on the duel and winning, it might have been a beautiful sight.

"I end my turn." Shinichi glances at the object that's pulling them in, and even his heart skips a beat at the sight of a black hole. He was confident in his odds in a duel, but dealing with an astronomical horror was something out of his bounds. It might need to be destroyed on its own terms. Nothing was going to stop him from saving his sister, after all.

  ROCKER | Numbers 73: Abyss Splash, the Roaring Waterfall Deity | "LOOK -THERE- BOY!" ROCKER forces his attention back on to the encroaching black hole, drawing in everything around them to pulverize it with its intense gravity.

  NOMI: ". . ."

  Moriyama, Shinichi looks back at the black hole at the sound of ROCKER's screech. "What about it? I'll destroy it if it wants to get in the way." His hand is already raising as the dragon also directs its attention towards the object, letting out another roar as lightning begins to flow across its fang.

  ROCKER: "Watch as the darkness swallows up the light. Treason's fangs present themselves even now! Do you understand? It's all explained here. The Numbers cannot be destroyed by battle, because they are of light. Radiant and everlasting. Specifically, they are cards filled up with the light of destruction. Long ago, that very light once tried to destroy our world. The Numbers which were birthed from that same light are of the same nature. Obdurate and annihilation seeking. But, the power within them has lost all its will and they have been left as chaotic husks. Lights that clear out the smog around one's heart and take form from their desires. But because they are chaotic, their power used to destroy the world can be used for good or for evil. What I'm saying is, the one who hold's the Numbers can create their own ideal world. Look THERE. LOOK AT supermassive black hole ahead. Don't you see, boy? I speak of GENESIS. The new world lies straight ahead. But, even as all variables change, there are constants. That Dragon exists to eternally oppose this new genesis. YOU ARE THE CONSTANT. You ARE THE REBELLION, MORIYAMA SHINICHI!"

  Story | It certainly seemed to be true. Shinichi probably wouldn't like hearing 'why' he was born, but ROCKER didn't care. In the end, this was only what he saw as a truth. Born to live in revolt. Against the Numbers. The dark dragon resonated with Abyss Splash for this express purpose. That was why it had an effect that could easily generate OTKs. Because it was used to circumvent the destruction-immunity of Numbers.

Moriyama, Shinichi can't understand why it matters. The infomation about how Numbers can't be destroyed by battle is undoubtedly useful, but the rest of ROCKER's speech is pointless to him. So what if he was the constant in the new world? So what if he was born to endlessly oppose the genesis? None of that was important to him right now.

He was simply Moriyama Shinichi at the end of the day. The same person who hated his father, cherished his mother, casually ditched school, admired his sister for her hard-working and determined personality, trusted Kalist because he was the best friend he had in this world, loved Kuro for the sense of comfort she only could bring to his stubborn and rebellious heart, looked up to Fam because he provided a role model to Shinichi when he was struggling to define himself, and held gratitude towards NOMI because she helped him break away from his fears and insecurities.

With all of these memories in his chest, there was no way he could ever be led astray.

"So fucking what? I'm Moriyama Shinichi no matter what happens. Numbers or the light of destruction doesn't matter to me, if anything tries to destroy the people I love or the world, whether that's you, a black hole, or God himself. . ."

He brings up a hand that's clenched into a tight fist, pointed straight towards ROCKER.

"--- I'll destroy with these two hands of mine. No matter how long it takes."
  ROCKER screeches in eternal gratitude to Moriyama Shinichi. He's so insanely dedicated to the cause of identity that it makes ROCKER wish he could cry. It's amazing! It's like an explosion that never dies out and fades from memory. When ROCKER goes 'boom boom', Shinichi immediately follows up with 'ba-bang ba-bang' and it's creating a beautiful sort of melody in his head that he wants to play over and over again ignoring the dissonance and harmonization and instead focusing on the cacophony of opposition and the cast off of ideology why is Shinichi so simple and yet 'perfect' at the same time it destroys him and invigorates ROCKER at the same time it makes him want to die and it makes him thankful for the gift of life all at the same time this is too many emotions to process what's happening what's wrong this wouldn't be happening if he were a HAISA class Familiar instead of a shoddy knockoff get it together dammit dammit dammit dammit dammit

"THAT'S WHERE YOU'RE WROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG!"

Turn go. Draw phase go. Fwip. CRACK.

Static explodes ROCKER's body is an eruption static goes flying everywhere static is jumping from the outline of his bdoy and reality is called into question it's hard to keep form but he does it through will that is quite possibly iron clad he does it and it works and the card in hand that is smoldering is isnerted into the duel disk all the same

"USING NUMBERS 73! I REBUILD THE OVERLAY NETWORK!"

The enormous giant deity had become little more than a pulsating growth. Almost like a tumor, dull red in coloration. A malignant, swollen, cocoon of chaos. Now the embryo that was Abyss Splash was rapidly developing and what would emerge was sure to strike terror into the hearts of the unclean.

Yes, now was the time.

The cocoon is torn through, but nothing emerges, rather, whatever was wielding the object used to do the tearing was attached to the cocoon from within and absorbing it to create a body for itself out of that unsightly blood-colored mud.

It appears with a sound that makes it seem as though the universe is coming apart. A wet sound. Is this what terror sounds like?

  ROCKER |  Numbers C73: Abyss Supra, the God of Roaring Cascades | Surely, it must be.

"I can use one Xyz Monster on my field to Xyz Summon a monster with a higher Rank from my Extra Deck! And when I do that, if the monster I summoned has 'Abyss' in its name, then Rank-Up-Magic Super Deluge Force also doubles the ATK of one monster on the opponent's field, and all battle damage involving that monster is doubled!" ROCKER seems to have come down from his fit.

Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon: ATK: 3700 - 7400

"Now, Abyss SUPRA! Attack Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon! DIVINE DELUGE!"

Waterfalls hammer down on the DARK dragon's skull, to punish it for even daring to revolt against the Heavens. Even if one who belongs there chooses to lurk in the deep, it is no dragon's place to mock him. Abyss Supra, which only shares the same 'body' with Abyss Splash, but has a different set of pauldrons, armor, appendages, and a different overall weapon, uses its Overlay Unit, Abyss Splash. Finally ridding itself of the last of its past life.

Even that, the Overlay Unit, looked strange and new now.

What ensues next is a galactic phenomenon. Abyss Supra's entire body goes out of control with power, and it crackles everywhere as it raises its scepter.

A chaos overcharge you could say.

The only way what ensues next could have any form of grounding in reality is through breaking reality apart. The information overflux occurs and through the energies generated by chaos nonsense, Numbers C73 babbles into oblivion, letting its scepter descend upon Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon. A tidal wave that could drown the whole world spills forth from the jewel in the scepter and falls down upon Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon inspite of  the attack difference.

ATK: 3000 - 10400

Or perhaps because of it...

The Dragon is washed away and Shinichi and Nomi are the ones being hammered down upon this time, with the tidal force only a mad deity could generate.
