You chuckle.

Sendithu grins.

Sendithu keeps a steady hand and uses advanced stitching techniques to deftly hide the towel's seams.
Sendithu imparts some of her Stealth knowledge to you, and you feel that the precepts are slowly beginning to sink in.
Kouzan asks, "Are you ready?"
You join Kouzan's group.
Powerhaus says to you, "You're gross."
Kouzan gives a slight nod.
Powerhaus says, "And sicky."
Powerhaus frowns at you.
A servant nods deferentially as you follow Kouzan out of the room.

[Merchant Lounge, Workroom]
Brightly painted lengths of red silk hang haphazardly on the walls in an attempt to cover the dull metal.  Placed at the back of the room is a solid workbench of polished steel.  Conveniently set near the work area is a pair of oversized wooden stools.  You also see a bright red door.
Obvious exits: none.
You slide a pair of black gold zills off your finger.
Kouzan asks, "What can I do for you today?"
You offer your black gold zills to Kouzan, who has 30 seconds to accept the offer.  Type CANCEL to prematurely cancel the offer.
Kouzan has accepted your offer and is now holding a pair of black gold zills.

You shrug.
You say, "Very fond of those."

Kouzan nods.

You say, "Have very few hobbies, playing those is soothing."
You say, "They are not the fanciest instrument."

Kouzan says, "Zills are soothing for their repetitive nature, yes."

You angle your ears forward in curiosity.

Kouzan asks, "Did you have something different you'd like to see done with these?"

You shrug.
You say, "Not in particular."

Kouzan asks, "Would you like more time to think of a design?"

You shrug.
You say, "Not really good at designing instruments."
You say, "Have tried, for weeks."
You cover your eyes.

Kouzan nods.
Kouzan asks, "Is there something about these that you do not like?  Design on them, or the material?"
Kouzan asks, "Or, is there something you'd prefer to see?"

You say, "The design is alright, though very simple. Like the material."
Kouzan nods.
Kouzan asks, "Is there a material you feel more fondly towards?"

You say, "Like black gold."


Kouzan nods.
Kouzan asks, "So the design is the sticking point for you?"

Kouzan says, "Tell me about yourself, then.  Let us see what I can do."

You ponder.
You say, "This one uh, does a lot of hunting."

Kouzan nods.

You say, "Reads a lot."
You say, "Fond of books. Alchemy, hmm."

Kouzan says, "Do you, as a Prydaen, find yourself more, how do I say without offense..."

Kouzan asks, "Refined or animalistic?"

You chuckle.
You say, "Not sure those are exclusive."

Kouzan shrugs.
You say, "This one still eats live animals."

Kouzan says, "It is a matter of self-opinion."
You say, "Tries to be more like the western ones were. Do not chase tails or ...meow like a kitten."

Kouzan asks, "Do you follow your Eastern gods?"
Kouzan nods to you.

You nod to Kouzan.

Kouzan ponders.
Kouzan nods.
Kouzan gets out a small piece of sandpaper and begins rubbing vigorously at the zills.

Kouzan asks, "Is there a Western god you prefer over others?"

You ponder.
You say, "Tenemlor."
Kouzan nods.

You say, "Though they are all really the same."

Kouzan says, "Same, but different.  Do tell me a bit about Tenemlor."

You say, "The lady does a lot of work to cleanse the homeland. That is this one's dream."
You ponder.

Kouzan nods.
You say, "She is often killing undead. More people should like her. She is often shown as a white furred one with a withered paw."
You get a delicate white marble Tenemlor figurine from inside your repair case.
You show Kouzan your Tenemlor figurine.

Kouzan makes small circles with the sandpaper in an attempt to obliterate the design.

You ponder.

Kouzan nods.
Kouzan asks, "What is the withered paw from, may I ask?"

You ponder.

You say, "She rules over both life and death."

Kouzan nods.

Kouzan says, "Interesting."

You say, "Many of the easterners see death as a bad thing. They have good aspects for life, bad ones for death."

Kouzan says, "I do not know much of your gods, I am afraid."

You angle your ears forward, gazing curiously at Kouzan.
You say, "They are not... they do not do like Drogor or Asketi."

You shrug.

Kouzan nods.

You say, "Not much reason to fear them."

Kouzan stows his sandpaper and pulls out a buffing cloth, which he uses to begin buffing the zills.

Kouzan says, "Fear is..."

Kouzan shrugs.

Kouzan says, "For people who have not experienced much of life, I suppose."

You observe Kouzan with fascination.

You say, "Elves live a long time, there is a lot more life for you to see."

Kouzan says, "I am old.  I have seen many things."

You say, "Perhaps you will be with your wife later yes? Not sure how that works with your gods."
You say, "Have usually fallen asleep by that part of a cleric's lecture."

Kouzan says, "I do not know.  No one has come back to tell me what happens."

You nod.

Kouzan smiles.

Kouzan stows his buffing cloth and pulls out a small tool with a pointed end.

Kouzan begins to incise designs carefully on the zills.

You ask, "If you came back, would you want to do the same work you do now?"

Kouzan asks, "I know nothing else.  But perhaps I would do something different.  Would I be the same self?"


You put your figurine in your repair case.
Kouzan nods.

Kouzan says, "If I was still myself, I suspect I would do the same work."

You nod to Kouzan.

Kouzan continues to incise designs carefully on the zills.

Kouzan asks, "Would you?"

You ponder.
You say, "Not sure. Perhaps the same goals but a different approach."

Kouzan asks, "How so?"

You say, "Seems like if everything could be done over, not doing things at least a little different would be a waste."
You say, "Maybe have a family next time. There is more than one way to restore the homeland."

Kouzan nods.

Kouzan says, "I agree with that completely."

You nod to Kouzan.
You ask Kouzan, "Did you and your wife have any children?"

Kouzan completes the incising, and stows the tool.  Rummaging around in his apron he pulls out a piece of white material that you cannot identify and begins to insert it into grooves.

Kouzan says, "We did not.  She died shortly after our bonding, only sixty years in.  We had not had children as yet."

You nod.

Kouzan says, "I have my apprentices though."
Kouzan says, "They are quite like children."

You nod to Kouzan.

You say, "This one has several students. Thomlas and Lithrell are the harest workers of the two."
You say, "Perhaps not as skilled as your apprentices."

Kouzan pushes in the final piece of white material, and gets the buffing cloth back out.  He begins to rub the zills.

Kouzan says, "Skills."

Kouzan shrugs.

You say, "Still, it is nice to pass on knowledge. Feels like it is not wasted with death."

You chuckle.

Kouzan says, "Skill isn't as important as desire."

You nod.

You see Kouzan Teirtu, an Elf.
Kouzan has an angular face, pointed ears, close-set milky blue eyes and a hooked nose.  He has cropped snow-white hair, with translucent skin and a wiry build.
He is tall for an Elf.
He appears to be mature.
He is in good shape.

He is holding a pair of black gold zills in his right hand.
He is wearing some steel-rimmed spectacles fitted with smaller magnifying lenses, a knee-length leather work apron that covers an eggshell linen shirt, some meticulously tailored flat-front trousers of onyx zerarin wool and some polished black leather shoes.

Kouzan begins to carefully examine a pair of Triquetra-shaped black gold zills with intricate engravings.

You say, "Those have really come along."

Kouzan stow the buffing cloth and rummages around his apron for a moment.

You say, "They look fantastic."

Kouzan says, "Perhaps, perhaps."

Kouzan pulls out a cleaning cloth.

With sure strokes that display his innate talent, Kouzan spends a few moments cleaning his black gold zills.

Kouzan puts his cloth in his leather apron.

Kouzan nods.

Kouzan shows you a pair of Triquetra-shaped black gold zills with intricate engravings.  The black gold of these zills has been formed into the tri-pointed shape for which the Triquetra is known.  Incised into the metal, arabesque designs of stylized depictions of tiny animals wend themselves around crescent moons.  The moons themselves have been made to stand out, being made with tiny silvers of bone.

You nod politely.

Kouzan asks, "Are these acceptable?"

You say, "Wow."
You say, "Acceptable? They are amazing."
You laugh!
You say, "Acceptable seems an insult. That... those are very beautiful."

Kouzan says, "They are you.  And what you told me."

You beam at Kouzan!

Kouzan asks, "Shall we name our price at 30 platinum?"

You say, "This one will use them always."
You nod.


You ask, "Oh uh do you... ah have runners?"
You twitch an ear nervously.

Kouzan says, "No, but you may go get the money."

You nod.

You glance at a bright red door.
