“Cleaning, cleaning~♪”
A MyRoid wearing a plain sky blue dress and an apron sings to herself while dusting the small apartment room. She didn’t like this color so much, but at least it didn’t have holes in it, she reasoned. Her sister and master were out doing some kind of errand. While cleaning the desk, she noticed the slight hum of the computer. Her hand accidentally bumped into the mouse, and a glow shone off her eyes, which were now reflecting the screen. The computer was still logged in as her master. She looked as if she had stumbled upon the secrets of the universe.

“This might be my chance! Who knows what kinds of stuff is on this hard drive?”

Her face slowly turned from one of bright curiosity to a flash of mischievousness. She gave a sly grin. “Well, this is a violation of his privacy, but maybe one peek wouldn’t hurt? I better not let my sister look...”

I’m feeling pretty conflicted.

	It’s not like there’s anything wrong with real women, but after she broke up with me and tried to steal my car, I’ve never been able to see them the same again. It’s been years since I’ve been able to go on a date with a woman more than once. Well, I kissed my robot a while back, but that wasn’t serious. Maybe. No, I would be lying to myself if I didn’t seriously consider Leila. She isn’t supposed to be real, but they sure fooled me and my dick. On that one “Christmas” day, I treated Leila like my old girlfriend. Is it wrong to feel this way? I mean, they mimic humans so people can relate to them better, and have soft, warm lips like humans. I can’t find a concrete reason other than not being able to have kids, but I don’t give a damn about that right now. No one is being hurt, but she’s a machine, not flesh and blood. I don’t know why that matters, but it’s a feeling that I can’t shake. I just don’t know what to do. Am I just “settling” because it’s been so long since I’ve gotten laid? I can’t seem to decide whether MyRoids count as people, or just mere objects.


She fidgets. Her emotions may have been programmed by a person and might not actually be real, but they felt real enough to her. She tries to take her mind off of the nervous sensation by scanning his master’s browser history, to look for something scandalous.

She heard the sound of jingling keys and yelped in surprise. The screen was hastily put back into the same configuration she found it, and the screen was turned off.
