  1. Preventing Skype Resolver's explained more thurally:

  6. A basic way to protect your IP and not allow people to obtain information on you. Also keeps away those naughty ddosers.

  12. Sorry, but this is incorrect... partially. Here's why:
  13.
  14. When Skype resolved, it simply *updates* the parsed resolved response with the *new* IP-address of the client. So all you're doing is changing the current IP, to the HTTPS proxy IP-address when it gets resolved; but, this doesn't even work because:
  15.
  16. My video, in which showed "direct connections to your contacts only" will force all (non-VOIP) Skype connections through Skype's servers; therefore, eliminating the chance of any *updated* attempts to Skype Resolve the client.
  17.
  18. Ex.
  19. Client > Skype Server > Client
  20. Client > HTTPS proxy > Skype Server > Client
  21. Do you understand? The use of the https proxy, whilst having "direct connections to contact only" is FUTILE, and is only slowing your connection down.
  22. The IP will still be the Skype server as it is the ran through Skype's servers last before reaching the end-client. :)
  23.
  24. Anyway, it is a good video still... although, they will need to disable "Allow direct connections to your contacts only" in order for it to update the resolver's IP's with the newly updated HTTPS proxy.

  29. BaSs HaXoR 1 second ago: +Ethan Woods No it won't... That is what is ran on Windows VPS's to "Skype Resolve" and parse the response to display the IP to the user.
  30. How did you think Skype resolver's worked?############################################################################################
