  3. T'was one hour before midnight at the camp in Bordeaux, British soldiers lay fast asleep in their tents restless of the days march. It was complete darkness and the only thing the soldiers needed was rest, then they heard it, the bugle of the French Hussars, they knew they could not stand a chance, men fleeing scared for their lives. But that flee turned into a counter-charge, the 2nd Queens Royal Regiment of Foot charged over the horizon and fought off the Hussars in their dozens. The cowardice French ran scared and retreated fast, the victory was ours of course by under the command of the bravest soldier alive, I, Colonel Charles Thomas. My enemies are many. My equals are none. In the shade of horses they said that the 73rd cavalry could never be conquered. In the land the arrogant they said that the 59th could never be humbled. In the realm of the Germans, they said that the 2Lhr could never be tamed. Now they say nothing. They fear me, like a force of nature a dealer in thunder and death. I say, I am Notmoving, I am Colonel. For Queen and Country.
