  3. [13/01/13 00:44:42]<SpiritOfFate> The doors to the lower deck open. Light comes in, after far too long. Against the light, you see silhouettes of ponies by the door pulling other sillhouettes of ponies, these limp and unmoving. A formal but authoritarian voice booms outside. "All of you, leave now!" The crowd slowly moves outside.
  4. [13/01/13 00:46:08]? Sotho sighs as he is moved out. He had left his wife and daughter 2 years ago. He made the mistake of trusting somepony he shouldn't have and ended up a slave for the last year, but he always looks on the brightside, sometimes he gets to travel
  5. [13/01/13 00:46:52]? Crossroads gets up and groans. She knew the routine. She gets up and tries not to stick out much from the crowd.
  6. [13/01/13 00:47:46]? Compass moves with the crowd, flowing with the mass as only a slave knows how. He does his best to make eye-contact with no one.
  7. [13/01/13 00:48:15]? Wintergreen slowly moves with the crowd, ducking in and out and hoping as to avoid calling attention to herself.
  8. [13/01/13 00:49:08]? Snowshiney hasn't sat down. She's been standing unmoving for several hours until the bark of the overseer apparently rouses her into motion. Unable to do more then shuffle along in the rear of the back she can barely keep up as her head lolls.
  9. [13/01/13 00:49:43]? Sotho looks around unlike others, too curious for his own good
  10. [13/01/13 00:50:19]? Firefly looks up at her father and mother as they stand. "Again," Firefly whispers, piteously. She just wants to sleep, but her mother picks her up by the scruff of her neck and deposits her to her hooves. "Yes little one. Practice your exercises, and keep your head low," the white mare whispers, her blue mane dirty and stringy. Firefly nods, and stays between her parents, joins the throng outside.
  11. [13/01/13 00:54:46]<SpiritOfFate> K3Two armed ponies on either side of door watch as the mass of ponies trots through, occasionally prodding the slowest ones. Back at the lower deck, soon only wastes and corpses, and ponies too sick to be diferentiated from the other two, are visible. They crowd is being taken down a simple dock, with few more than a couple warehouses. and a road surrounded by sickly bushes. The pony with the booming voice is ahead of the crowd, still calli

  13. [13/01/13 00:55:48]? Snowshiney moves as ordered. It looks like one of the corpses is still following the commands of the living.
  14. [13/01/13 00:56:00]? Crossroads notes the weapons the ponies had. Any weapon would be better then none. She sighs and stcuk to about the middle of the crowd. Being slightly taller then average had a few perks. She had a decent view.
  15. [13/01/13 00:57:19]? Firefly stays between her parents, doing her best to stay out of sight and out of mind, letting her parents guide her path.
  16. [13/01/13 00:57:28]? Compass raises his head slightly above the other ponies, looking over at the pony beckoning them on.
  17. [13/01/13 00:57:42]? Wintergreen continues forward after a quick glance at her surrounding, obeying orders.
  18. [13/01/13 00:57:49]? Snowshiney oozes a little on the decking as she passes.
  19. [13/01/13 01:05:47]<SpiritOfFate> The two ponies by the door both wear combat armor, with an anchor symbol painted over the shoulder. One of them is a grey unicorn with a cowboy repeater on his back, the other an blue earth pony mare with two hunting rifles on a battlesaddle. The pony ahead is a tall blue maned white unicorn wearing glasses and a business suit. He floats a clipboard and marks ticks as the slaves leave the ship.
  20. [13/01/13 01:06:29]? Compass squints as he looks on. He'd gotten used to the smell, trapped as he was... but with the sudden burst of fresh air, the stink had returned in force.
  21. [13/01/13 01:07:08]? Crossroads is making a list and checking it twice as well. She so longed to take that repeater and show the ponies that she was not just a number.
  22. [13/01/13 01:07:49]? Compass grits his teeth quietly.
  23. [13/01/13 01:07:55]? Wintergreen sighs, knowing that she didn't have the ability to escape alone.
  24. [13/01/13 01:08:36]? Firefly keeps her head low and stays between her parents...but her wings flex ever-so-slightly against the restraints in the exercises her father and mother insisted upon.
  25. [13/01/13 01:09:49]? Sotho pays no attention to this pony, he'd learned to ignore those few
  26. [13/01/13 01:13:06]<SpiritOfFate> One of the armed ponies waves to the bespectacled unicorn, to which he calls. "Halt! You will stay here until your owners arrive." He looks irritated to the warehouse and turns away from the crowd.
  27. [13/01/13 01:14:56]? Crossroads was taking in every detail of this place. Even if she couldn't do it alone...this place was going to be shutdown.
  28. [13/01/13 01:19:33]? Compass looks about, jaw set.
  29. [13/01/13 01:19:57]<SpiritOfFate> You notice the shadows looming over you. Three griffin in the same security armor hovering high above you.
  30. [13/01/13 01:20:44]? Crossroads rolls her eyes and mumbles. "Great griffons...I never saw what pops saw in them."
  31. [13/01/13 01:21:51]? Wintergreen looks up at the griffins and shuffles uncomfortably.
  32. [13/01/13 01:25:03]<SpiritOfFate> Soon after all the slaves leave the ship, the unicorn takes a short leave to the warehouse, grunting on the way. Within the crowd, a bony brown earth pony whispers. "Does anypony know where we are?"
  33. [13/01/13 01:25:56]? Sotho notice the griffons, not looking at them in the eyes
  34. [13/01/13 01:26:10]? Firefly hears the sound of wind passing through feathers, and for a moment forgets what her parents have told her. She looks up...seeing the three griffins flying above. Her eyes grow wide, but she only gets a glimpse before she remembers the rule, and ducks her head back down, focusing on her exercises.
  35. [13/01/13 01:26:13]? Sotho shakes his head
  36. [13/01/13 01:26:24]? Compass exhales quietly, scowling at no one in particular.
  37. [13/01/13 01:29:32]? ApricotCordial plods along, oblivious.
  38. [13/01/13 01:29:52]? Wintergreen says nothing, unsure of where she was and wanting to stay quiet.
  39. [13/01/13 01:29:57]* ApricotCordial is now known as Snowshine
  40. [13/01/13 01:30:05]* Snowshine is now known as Snowshiney
  41. [13/01/13 01:30:53]? Crossroads considered did she know where she was?"
  42. [13/01/13 01:31:05]? Compass ignores the question from the unnamed pony. He wasn't being directly addressed.
  43. [13/01/13 01:33:39]? Compass It was a good question, though. Compass looks around at their surroundings, interested in figuring out what the land could tell him.
  44. [13/01/13 01:36:19]? Crossroads looks about for the Earthpony and whispers the answer to him.
  45. [13/01/13 01:37:49]? Snowshiney creaks, "Far away."
  46. [13/01/13 01:38:16]? Sotho doesn't know
  47. [13/01/13 01:38:21]<SpiritOfFate> Some of you notice the tropical climate and pockets of tangled vegetation further away from the road, parts of it taking over the ruins of old houses. It seems to be a rainforest.
  48. [13/01/13 01:39:54]<SpiritOfFate> The crowd eventually settles by the yard of the warehouse, around 30 ponies, zebra and griffin. The bespectacled unicorn comes back taking a large bag with him. He telekinetically spreads the loaves of stale bread evenly over the crowd and let them descend slowly.
  49. [13/01/13 01:44:32]? Compass watches a loaf descend and attempts to claim it for his own.
  50. [13/01/13 01:44:35]? Crossroads took hers in her own TK and slowly ate.
  51. [13/01/13 01:45:12]? Wintergreen takes her loaf as it descends, starting to eat as she grabs it.
  52. [13/01/13 01:45:14]? Firefly watches as the loaves descend, and bouncing upward, makes a grab for one for herself and her one for each of her parents!
  53. [13/01/13 01:47:47]<SpiritOfFate> A tangle maned unicorn jumps and takes the loaf that descended over the bony brown pony, as well as another one. Over Firefly and her family, only two loaves are within close reach, the others floating over different ponies
  54. [13/01/13 01:48:58]? Sotho took his loaf and kept it close
  55. [13/01/13 01:49:08]? Crossroads decides to intervene with the unicorn taking the food from the Earth pony. "Hey Bonehead knock it off."
  56. [13/01/13 01:49:49]? Firefly snags both loaves, one in her teeth and the other between two hooves. She gives them to her parents to split between them. "Mama can make it even," she says.
  57. [13/01/13 01:49:58]? Wintergreen stands, quickly trotting over to the intervention and nodding in affirmation at the thief.
  58. [13/01/13 01:50:05]? Snowshiney gets bonked on the head by falling bread. It rolls down her muzzle to dirt at her hooves.
  59. [13/01/13 01:50:41]? Compass retreats to somewhere where he can eat his loaf and watch the others.
  60. [13/01/13 01:51:24]? Sotho looks over and sees filly carrying two loaves to her parents, not getting much for herself. He sighs and trots over, breaking his loaf in half. "Excuse me." He says quietly to the filly, would you like half of my loaf?"
  61. [13/01/13 01:52:07]<SpiritOfFate> "What are you talking about?" The tangled maned pony says, pushing the second loaf to his back.
  62. [13/01/13 01:53:26]? Crossroads nods to the Bony Earth Pony. "Seems somepony here has decided we don't have it hard enough and has decided that stealing food is acceptable."
  63. [13/01/13 01:53:33]? Firefly scurries between her father's legs. She looks at the loaf hungrily, but doesn't want to get into trouble with her parents. "Mama," she says, looking up at the white pegasus.
  64. [13/01/13 01:53:39]? Wintergreen scowls. "You know what we're talking about," she whispers harshly, "give that pony his loaf back."
  65. [13/01/13 01:53:48]<Crossroads> "Bet you're why he looks like he's gonna fall over"
  66. [13/01/13 01:54:18]<Crossroads> "Wonder if the overseers would like to know that your greed is cutting into their profits."
  67. [13/01/13 01:54:43]<SpiritOfFate> Firefly's mother splits one of the loaves between her and Firefly's parent, giving an entire one to the filly with a weary but genuine smile.
  68. [13/01/13 01:55:37]? Compass takes note of each dispute as his eyes fall upon it, chewing his loaf mechanically.
  69. [13/01/13 01:56:01]? Firefly takes the loaf, and looks up at the zebra with his. "No...but maybe Mama and Dad would?"
  70. [13/01/13 01:56:16]? Snowshiney chews without enthusiasm on her dry, but bug free, hunk of bread.
  71. [13/01/13 01:56:57]? Sotho nods and gives his half of the loaf to the parents. "Please, enjoy. we're all in this together, right?"

  73. [13/01/13 01:58:41]<SpiritOfFate> The unicorn tries to step back, looking from one acusing pony to the other the fear growing in his eyes. He kicks the second loaf to Crossroads and snorts.
  74. [13/01/13 01:59:17]? Crossroads hoofs the loaf over to the Brown earth pony and looks to Wintergreen. "Thank you for the backup there."
  75. [13/01/13 01:59:30]? Firefly looks up at her father, with big, pleading, filly eyes to take the offered loaf.
  76. [13/01/13 02:01:02]? Wintergreen smiles. "We all have to stick together, and thank you as well... I wouldn't have been able to convince him alone."
  77. [13/01/13 02:01:13]<SpiritOfFate> Her father takes Sotho's half-loaf. "Thank you. I will repay you... somehow."
  78. [13/01/13 02:01:35]<Sotho> "No need, I'm just helping out."
  79. [13/01/13 02:01:37]? Compass is watching the three pegasi at the moment, wondering how they got caught. Pegasi are rare...
  80. [13/01/13 02:02:28]<Crossroads> "Well if he wouldn't have played nice a fight might have broken out."
  81. [13/01/13 02:03:11]? Firefly grins at her father in happiness, taking a chunk out of her loaf, leaving her with about three-quarters of a loaf. She walks over to the zebra and offers it to him, saying "Thank you Mr. Zebra. I'm Firefly, who're you?"
  82. [13/01/13 02:04:17]<SpiritOfFate> The bony pony takes the loaf gladly and eats it right away. "I don't know what I'd do if you weren't there."
  83. [13/01/13 02:04:22]? Sotho shakes his hooves. "I won't take your food but I will give you my name." He smiles. "I'm Sotho." He waves
  84. [13/01/13 02:04:38]? Wintergreen nods. "Anyway... thanks again." She sticks her hoof out, face set with a slight grin, towards Crossroads. "I'm Wintergreen."
  85. [13/01/13 02:04:45]<Crossroads> "Hey it's fine. We're all in this togeather."
  86. [13/01/13 02:04:56]? Snowshiney pretty much just sucks on an end of the loaf. Chewing makes it feel like her jaw is working up through the skull.
  87. [13/01/13 02:05:05]? Crossroads takes Winter's hoof. "I'm Crossroads."
  88. [13/01/13 02:06:37]? Firefly looks up at him, her expression grateful and innocent. "Ok...Mama, can Mr. Sotho eat with us?" She looks back at the pegasus mare with hopeful eyes.
  89. [13/01/13 02:06:42]? Wintergreen breaks the hoofshake, smiling to Crossroads, taking out her loaf and eating to finish up.
  90. [13/01/13 02:06:45]? Compass finishes his bread. He licks his teeth and looks around for water.
  91. [13/01/13 02:07:58]? Crossroads finishes her bread as well.
  92. [13/01/13 02:09:27]? Compass tests the ground to see if he can carve words into it.
  93. [13/01/13 02:10:08]? Wintergreen looks around, eyes landing on an odd looking lime green mare.
  94. [13/01/13 02:10:33]<SpiritOfFate> Firefly's mother caresses her mane. "I'd be glad if he did." She says, smiling to the kind zebra.
  95. [13/01/13 02:11:39]? Sotho smiles back, approaching the family. "Thank you." He bows. "I had a filly of my own before I departed on my adventure... and eventaully got here." He chuckles lightly, starting to eat slowly
  96. [13/01/13 02:12:06]? Firefly gives a happy grin, sitting between her mom and dad, starting to eat her bread, the torn-quarter portion first.
  97. [13/01/13 02:12:32]<SpiritOfFate> You are all standing over compressed dirt. Your hoof can leave marks over it
  98. [13/01/13 02:14:00]? Snowshiney 's jaw goes slack around her meal. Her rheummy eyes twitch and roll back, her locked legs finally surrender to their decrepit appearance as the mare's hindlegs buckle, dumping her to the hard earth. Uncontrolled shaking wracks her body, muscles seizing and releasing as she falls onto her side.
  99. [13/01/13 02:14:35]<SpiritOfFate> Firefly's mother looks in sympathy to Sotho. "I'm sorry."
  100. [13/01/13 02:15:06]<Sotho> "It's fine. As far as I know, she's back in my home village with my wife... she'd be around 2 years old now."

  102. [13/01/13 02:17:03]? Firefly continues to eat, the serious nature of the conversation completely flying over the filly's head...probably cause she's short.
  103. [13/01/13 02:18:48]<SpiritOfFate> The unicorn by the warehouse entrance keeps observing and makes another tick on the clipboard.
  104. [13/01/13 02:22:14]? Wintergreen quickly walks to the lime green, seizing mare and attempts to help with basic first aid.
  105. [13/01/13 02:23:29]? Firefly is a filly with food, but knows the food is rare. She carefully takes bites, trying to be sure every crumb doesn't go to waste.
  106. [13/01/13 02:26:44]<SpiritOfFate> Wintergreen manages to keep Snowshiney's seizure under control and it goes away, leaving the mare laying on the space she manages on the crowded floor.
  107. [13/01/13 02:27:46]? Snowshiney greedily sucks down air.
  108. [13/01/13 02:28:27]? Wintergreen looks to the mare in worry. "Are you alright? I noticed your... condition."
  109. [13/01/13 02:29:06]? Sotho finshes his food, smiling at Firefly
  110. [13/01/13 02:30:43]? Snowshiney grasps for her bread
  111. [13/01/13 02:31:21]? Firefly finishes her food as well, doing so with minimal mess. She looks up at Sotho and smiles back.
  112. [13/01/13 02:33:42]? Wintergreen scratches her head, looking at Snowshiney. "Do you need any help?"
  113. [13/01/13 02:33:43]<SpiritOfFate> A group of 3 ponies and a griffon appears in the distance, trotting down the road to the warehouse
  114. [13/01/13 02:34:04]<Snowshiney> "Waste not your time."
  115. [13/01/13 02:34:53]? Firefly seeing the three ponies and the griffin, Firefly ducks behind her father.
  116. [13/01/13 02:34:58]? Wintergreen shrugs with a slight frown, turning her attention to the griffons in the distance.
  117. [13/01/13 02:35:33]? Compass watches the ponies and their... escort?
  118. [13/01/13 02:35:45]? Compass Or was it the other way around...

  125. [13/01/13 02:40:10]? Firefly watches the unicorn, a pair of curious blue eyes peering from around her father's orange coat.
  126. [13/01/13 02:46:56]<SpiritOfFate> They all get close to the crowd. A laidback looking green earth pony stallion, an old grizzled unicorn with thick brows, an orange chubby mare and actually griffiness. The clipboard unicorn steps ahead and shouts. "Line up, all of you!"

  128. [13/01/13 02:47:42]? Wintergreen hesitantly follows orders, lining up in front of the slavers.
  129. [13/01/13 02:47:59]? Firefly lines up between her mother and father, trying to look small and insignificant.
  130. [13/01/13 02:48:18]? Snowshiney slowly lifts her thin frame upright, leaving behind the half-eaten loaf of rbead to rot.
  131. [13/01/13 02:49:38]<Snowshiney> *bread
  132. [13/01/13 02:50:12]<SpiritOfFate> One of the slaves eyes Snowshiney's bread from a few places to her left at the line
  133. [13/01/13 02:50:48]? Snowshiney shuffles into line, leaving her trail of blood drops from cracked feet and the occasional ooze.
  134. [13/01/13 02:52:42]? Crossroads lines up with the others
  135. [13/01/13 02:52:50]? Compass nabs Snowshiney's bread as he walks towards the line. He eyes it a bit queasily, then looks over at Snowshiney.
  136. [13/01/13 02:54:02]? Compass He'd been considering eating it... but now he only wanted to give it back. So no one caught what she had.
  137. [13/01/13 02:54:29]? Compass taps Snowshiney on the shoulder and offers her her bread back.
  138. [13/01/13 02:54:57]? Snowshiney wobbles
  139. [13/01/13 02:54:58]<SpiritOfFate> The chubby mare walks along the line, looking up and down each of the ponies. The others stand back, the griffiness glancing back and forth along the line of ponies, idly running a talon back and forth over the barrel of her holstered revolver.
  140. [13/01/13 02:55:02]<Snowshiney> "Full."
  141. [13/01/13 02:55:56]? Wintergreen looks down, avoiding eye contact with the chubby mare.
  142. [13/01/13 02:56:08]? Compass takes the end that Snowshine hadn't bitten in his mouth, then assumes a place in line.
  143. [13/01/13 02:56:58]? Crossroads stands at rest looking directly at the chubby mare trying to memorize her features.
  144. [13/01/13 02:57:13]? Sotho stands up straight.
  145. [13/01/13 02:59:00]? Firefly keeps her eyes focused on the ground, avoiding the eyes of the chubby mare and trying to look inconsequential. Firefly's mother and father are similar, almost crowding over their daughter...not trying to hide her, but make them appear as one unit.
  146. [13/01/13 03:00:01]? Compass stares directly forward at an imaginary point on the horizon, bread in his mouth.
  147. [13/01/13 03:00:01]<SpiritOfFate> The chubby mare had a long blue mane and an orange coat. She wore a frily pre-war shirt and had the cutie mark of a shape sorter toy. She stops to take a longer look at Sotho, before continuing to trot along
  148. [13/01/13 03:00:38]? Sotho lets out an internal sigh of relief
  149. [13/01/13 03:06:32]? Snowshiney rots
  150. [13/01/13 03:07:57]? Crossroads is thankful she's not a particuarly pretty mare as she watched the mare stare at Sotho.
  151. [13/01/13 03:17:59]<SpiritOfFate> The chubby mare makes all the way to the end of the line, stopping to look at each of you.
  152. [13/01/13 03:19:01]? Firefly noticed the mare as she walked by, but doesn't notice the mare's interest in her. Firefly is doing her best to look inconsequential.
  153. [13/01/13 03:19:11]? Snowshiney stares back at the mare with piercing, unwavering gaze
  154. [13/01/13 03:19:32]? Wintergreen does her best to concentrate on the ground, and not the slavers.
  155. [13/01/13 03:20:43]<Royal_Lace> ACTION stands towards the back of the group of slaves, hiding behind larger ponies and keeping her head down. She is wrapped in a dirty dress that was once a canvas sack, her petiet horn pokes out from her filthy orange mane. At one point it may have been beutiful but the trip had not faired well on her mane style. Shuttering she whipes the crumbs from her lips as the mare aproches.   156. [13/01/13 03:21:26]? Sotho notices the interest and keep quiet, not wanting to draw more to himself
  157. [13/01/13 03:21:31]? Royal_Lace as the chubby pony waddled closer and closer.
  158. [13/01/13 03:23:10]<SpiritOfFate> The mare chuckles at Snowshiney, moving to Royal Lace taking a good look at her as well. She trots away, going back to the clipboard holding pony and talking to him.
  159. [13/01/13 03:24:42]? Royal_Lace glances up as the whale of a pony passes by, whiping a bead of sweat from her brow, inadvertantly whiping enough of the grime from her face to reveal her cute freckles.
  160. [13/01/13 03:27:07]<SpiritOfFate> The chubby mare takes a last glance back, before following the clipboard pony to the warehouse, the other ponies following. The griffin guards flying above, however, stay where they are. You hear a little banter growing among the slaves as the other ponies disappear from view.
  161. [13/01/13 03:28:26]? Compass munches Snowshine's bread.
  162. [13/01/13 03:29:01]? Wintergreen sighs in relief, sitting back on her haunches.

  165. [13/01/13 03:29:52]? Crossroads just watches the goings on.
