1. Let me set a scene for you. It's 2007 and my 7 year old self went to spend the night at my cousins like any other normal weekend only this weekend was very far from normal. Recently my cousins dog had died it's name was sophie. She was a yellow Labrador who had recently become very depressed and wouldn't play with anyone anymore. A few days later she went off into the woods, by this time i'm guessing you could figure out why, she was 12 years old and it was her time. Just in case you didn't know most dogs go somewhere away from their owners to die in peace. I have 3 cousins that lived in the house, Griffin, Nolan and Karsyn. Griffen, the oldest 10 at the time took her death the most harshly. He cried for days that she was gone that she was HIS dog. On Friday I arrived at their house a little house on the side of the river with a woods in the backyard. That night went like any other night with a series of video games, movies and a LOT of sugar. We didn't discuss sophie’s death in good detail out of fear of making griffen break down again. Around 11 we decided it was time for bed or so we thought. We slept in the pool table room, a room that was huge and laid with tiles making it extremely cold. Eventually after telling each other multiple times to shut up and go to sleep we fell asleep. This room had windows on half of its long running windows that covered most of the wall, allowing you to see straight into the woods. At exactly 3:25 I was woken up by a loud scratching noise. Out that window I saw sophie covered in blood with parts of her body missing. I was paralyzed in fear and astonishment that this could be happening. she whimpered and tried to scratch the windows. Only this was impossible they found her dead body in the woods already eaten by animals. I turned to shake griffin awake. When I told him what I saw he didn't believe me, I must have sounded crazy. I consoled myself to sleep promising that everything would be better in the morning. But it wasn't. We woke up late and had pancakes with milk. The day proceeded with our usual events, until we went into the pool room to grab our sleeping bags to go upstairs to griffin's room. The window had scratch marks on it that everyone but I dismissed as some skunk or maybe a raccoon. That night was worse. Much worse. We fell asleep quickly after our sugar rush ended and took to our sleeping bags. I couldn't sleep because of the previous night and got up for a drink of water when I heard it. A howl a loud relentless howl, I screamed and ran into the room and hid inside my sleeping bag. Then the whimpering started again, but sophie was waiting below the second story window scratching in the house. I tried and tried to convince myself to shake it off and go back to sleep. Then the scratching started in the kitchen below and that horrid whimpering! The scratching came up the stairs and outside the bedroom door. I screamed at it to leave me alone, but whatever it was it wouldn't leave. At this point I am screaming and crying for someone, anyone to help me. But then it stops. She’s gone and will be for the next year. But no matter what, every year around this time the scratching and whimpering begins again. Now am going to tell you this. I don't believe that she is evil, but now more of a protecting spirit in fact she’s beside me right now or is it you? Anyways, that no longer matters because you read the story, it now is passed onto you. Welcome to my curse. No reasons. No escaping it. Just pray that she likes you.
