  1. Lobo and the Golden Rose
  2. By: Melody
  3.
  4. It was a cloudy day in SongTown, and Mayor Melody was rushing to a residential plot. She skidded to a halt in front of a house. A sign next to it read ‘Lobo’s House’. She knocked on the door and went inside. A dark blue wolf with a checkered shirt was inside, sitting on a classic couch.
  5. “Hello, ah-rooooo. I’m Lobo.” It said, standing up.
  6. “Welcome to SongTown, Lobo. I’m Mayor Melody.” Melody nodded. She shook Lobo’s paw with her hand and smiled. Lobo grunted and sat back down.
  7. “I should get back to unpacking…I have a few boxes left…” Lobo said, gesturing towards the door. Melody left, feeling happy there was a new neighbor in town.
  8.
  9. A few days later, Melody saw Lobo and Opal talking. She walked over to them.
  10. Lobo was pointing his fist at Opal. “You stepped on my golden rose, ruining it!”
  11. Opal’s face turned red. '“No I didn’t I don’t even live near you!”
  12. Melody stepped between them. “Guys! Stop! Opal, why don’t you prepare for the fair?”
  13. Opal nodded and stormed away. Lobo grumpily asked, “There’s a fair in this town? When?”
  14. “In a few days. Everyone’s preparing for it! Why don’t you help?”
  15. “No thanks, ah-rooooo.” Lobo said, walking away.
  16. “Okay! See you later!” Melody waved, a sad smile on her face.
  17.
  18. Three days before the fair, Melody knocked on Lobo’s door. He hadn’t been outside for days. “Lobo?” She called. No answer. She walked away to supervise the fair preparations. She didn’t notice a dark blue wolf step outside and water a wilted rose with a golden watering can.
  19.
  20. Later that day, Melody was walking outside when she saw Lobo sitting on a yellow bench, snoozing. “Lobo…LOBO!” Melody yelled.
  21. “NO MORE COTTON CANDY!” He yelled, startled. “Oh, it’s you, Melody.” He blushed.
  22. “I wanted to ask you to come to the fair. It’ll be really fun!” Melody pleaded.
  23. “I already told you, I don’t want to.” Lobo grunted.
  24. “Okay.” Melody said, walking to her house.
  25. The next morning, Lobo stepped outside. He nearly tripped on a wrapped item. “What’s this, ah-rooooo?” He picked it up, and unwrapped it. Inside was a party hat. “Who…” He murmured. “What’s this for?” He put the party hat in his pockets and walked away to Leif’s gardening shop.
  26. “Hello, Lobo!” Leif greeted him. “Let me show you the new type of flower I have in stock…”
  27.
  28. It was the day of the fair. The trees were decorated with streamers, and infinity confetti was falling from the sky. In the town plaza, food and game stalls were set up, run by various animals. Melody was greeting everyone that came, and chatted with the animals running the stalls. Everyone was there.
  29. Except Lobo.
  30. “Hmph.” He muttered, looking out the window, seeing someone run past his window. “Everyone’s too loud today.” He walked outside. Confetti got into his fur. He brushed it off. Molly and Prince ran past him, carrying bunny balloons. “Sheesh. People could use some manners today.”
  31. He walked around town, waving off anyone trying to get him into the fun.
  32. Lobo was near the Café when he saw Mayor Melody crying in the town plaza, Mott and Peaches comforting her. He hid behind a pine tree.
  33. “What’s wrong, cagey?” Mott asked.
  34. “I needed a golden rose for the Fair centerpiece, but it got ruined from a storm a few days ago! The Fair won’t be complete without the golden rose!” Melody sobbed.
  35. “We don’t need a golden rose to have fun, neighbor!” Peaches said.
  36. “I know that. But I’ve been planning this for so long, and now the rose is gone!”
  37. ‘I have a golden rose.’ Lobo thought.
  38.
  39. Lobo walked over to the sobbing Melody. He held out a golden rose in a beautifully painted flowerpot. Melody gasped and held the pot in her hands. “Lobo! How did you get this?” She asked.
  40. Lobo blushed. “I’ve been growing it.”
  41. “Thank you!” Melody said, and hugged Lobo. She took a megaphone out from her pockets. “Attention all residents! Come to the town plaza!”
  42. Everyone gathered in the town plaza, Melody hopped on the town tree’s pot. “I want to give an enormous thank you to Lobo, who gave the golden rose for the Fair!”
  43. Everyone applauded. Lobo blushed again.
  44. “Time to get this Fair started!”
  45. Lobo and Melody got some ice cream, then went to play a fishing game. Lobo won, but lost to Melody at a bug catching game. Lobo and Mott paired together in a furniture scavenger hunt, winning thanks to Lobo finding a love seat.
  46. The Fair was over, and everyone at the stands were packing up. Lobo was sitting on a yellow bench, drinking some coffee. Melody walked over. “How did you like the Fair?” she asked.
  47. “I thought it was stupid at first, but now…I’m staying in SongTown forever!”
