<uSeaGM> “*Bzzzrt* storm disrupting our sig... ... .. …. ..portant news. A green drag.. *bzzzrk* flying …. …. Hope shortly before ... storm *bzzrt* don't know ….. ….. on … all contact …. Hope has *bzzrt* lost. ...rypony please stay safe! *bzzrt*........................................................”
<uSeaGM> An unnatural storm has struck the region. Fog rolls in off the sea obscuring the town and harbour front. Yelling and gunfire have attracted our party, and now they stand in front of one of the wide stone piers for which the town got its name. Further down the pier, towards where the old warship was docked, dark shapes move in the fog ahead.
<uSeaGM> There are three of them, one much larger than the other two, but through the fog you can't make out any details, save for a writhing, squirming, mass of tentacles around them. They don't seem to have noticed you yet, but they are moving towards you as if something had attracted their attention.
* Whisper looks around for cover and concealment.
<Jack> "Y'arr careful approaching these beasts. Lest ye get a taste of their tendrils, and go for the big'uns eyes!" Jack draws his cutlass and makes ready to charge on in despite his warning.
<Jack> "oh...and careful lest ye lose your weapon it's face is rather....sticky."
<Jack> "Lost me Lucky Cutlass that way."
* Whisper creeps forward to get a clearer shot.
* Jasmine had possibly been the one to grab their attention. She was speeding towards the commotion at a fast pace, doing aerial tricks while singing something she thought sounded heroic. "Doo do do doooooo do do dooooo....."
* Prism had cast Toughen Hide on Jasmine, Milia and Jack, and stays back.
* Milia slowly creeps forward, though keeps herself from getting too near at the moment. "Start picking at them whenever you're ready, Whisper...do as much damage as you can, and I'll intercept if they approach you." she mutters to the sneaky stallion.
* Jack shivers as he feels the magic take hold. "That feels...weird."
* Whisper nods, still searching for anything to hide behind on the pier.
<uSeaGM> Whisper approaches soundlessly, finding cover behind one of the carts they had originally brought into town. Now closer, he can make out more details.
<uSeaGM> The Squidlets look like this http://www.pso-world.com/gallery/data/526/Dolmdarl.png but with more barbed tentacles.
<uSeaGM> The big one is similar, but is larger than a two-pony wagon. It's body is encased in a thick shell and the creature's beak and face is surrounded by squirming, sea anemone-like feelers. Where the Squidlets have a dozen limbs, this beast has nearly a hundred. Some lift it off the stone pier while others, thin and fast, wave around feeling the air.
* Artifica contemplates ways to best avoid getting a taste of those tendrils.  Contemplation includes setting herself on fire.
<Jasmine> "... Do do do dooooo do do DOOOO DOOOO DOOOOOOOOO" Jasmine lands out in the open, taking a look at the squid monsters. "STOP RIGHT THERE, EVIL MUTANT CREATURES OF THE DEEP! SURRENDER YOURSELVES TO JUSTICE AND I SHALL MAKE YOUR DEATHS QUICK!"
<Jack> "Careful about the big one!" Jack shouts after her.
* Artifica realizes that combat is engaged by force of Jasmine, and opens her Spell Closet, letting her spells fly.
* Jack charges in after Jasmine. "And leave some of these lily liver'd fiends to me!"
* Milia curses under her breath. "Need a friggin' leash for that girl, swear to Celestia..."
<Jack> "Y'arr I'm sure she'd like that."
* Whisper finishes lining up a shot and lets fly just as Jasmine makes her big entrance. Three bullets perforate one of the smaller squid.
* ChanServ gives channel operator status to mimezinga
* mimezinga is now known as Berry
* Artifica unleashes four spells from her spell closet, making Whisper's weapon faster, Milia's powerhooves and Jasmine's talons more deadly, and her own battle saddle more... fiery.
<Artifica> (Rather, Berry's laser becomes more deadly rather than Jasmine's horribly-out-of-range bird hands.)
* Berry the filly checks the situation for a split second, then starts yelling orders "let's take them!" yeah, coordinating combat is hard work
* Artifica totally coordinates on "Let's take them!"  Berry is best leader!
* Milia nods. That was a good strategy.
<uSeaGM> Long tentacles lash out as Jasmine charges.
<Jack> "Hey what did I just yell at you!" Jack shakes his head
<uSeaGM> All three make contact and Jasmine falters in the air. She is quickly caught and wrapped up by the uninjured Squidlet (#2)
* Jasmine takes to the sky once again and speeds towards the wounded squidlet, but in her recklessness gets caught by the uninjured one and gets dragged down. Jasmine starts to feel woozy as she can feel a toxin enter her bloodstream she attempts to break free, barely managing, and quickly swipes out tiwce in response, her movement more sluggish than usual
<uSeaGM> Her claws tear bloody rends in the squid's flesh.
* Milia will quickly follow suit, galloping down the pier and into the literal fog-of-war. "WE'RE HAVIN' CALAMARI TONIGHT!" she hollars as she moves.
* Prism watches the action.    He was unsure of how much he could help in the actual combat, but he'd be there to patch them all up afterwards of course.
<uSeaGM> The tentacles slash again at the Zebra, but she doesn't fall into their clutches quite yet.
* Artifica cries out.  "Careful, Milia!"
<Milia> "Aren't I always, sweetums?  You know what, don't answer that!" she calls back out as she simply shrugs off the squidlet lashings, thanks to Prism's protection.  The big one, however, catches her rear leg square on, and she can feel a jolt of sharp pain, followed by a mild lethargy.
<Milia> "Ugghh...you...you...ass-crap...piss-gurgling shit face!" she oh-so eloquently spews at the squid as she spins about, delivering a powerful doublebuck at its dumb stupid face or whatever.
* Jasmine chucklegroans, as she continues her heroic singing... albeit a bit slowed, now that her vigor has been drained. " Dooo.... doooooooooo.... do do do.... doooooooooo... doooo:
* Milia hardly notices the followup lash. Compared to the first hit, it was nothing.
* Berry runs onwar until the giant squid becomes visible, then grabs her magic pistol and shoots 3 times against it
<uSeaGM> Her magic beams strike it three times in the mouth but it doesn't seem too fazed.
* Berry PEW PEW PEW "AND STAY PUT!"
* Whisper continues firing, dividing his attacks between the two smaller squid.
<uSeaGM> All his shots find their target in the murk, silently tearing chunks out of the creatres.
<uSeaGM> Prism joins his friends in attacking the squid. Squidlet #2 is now looking very injured indeed.
<Prism> Wasn't much else to do but move in closer, telekinetically holding his police pistol, He got into range and fired two shots at the squid, striking it with both shots.   He figures his meager amount of weapons training came in handy.
* Berry is slimier than a squiddie! yush!
<uSeaGM> The first Squidlet reeps forwards and tries to grapple Berry, but she wriggles free! This is why she is the best at tickle fights.
<uSeaGM> The second Squidlet tries to grab Jasmine and manages to catch her. Then it takes a bite of tastey Griffin.
* Artifica steps forward, unleashing the last spell in her spell closet into her battle saddle as she hollars at one of the squidlets, "LEAVE BERRY ALONE!" For the moment, she is fixed on Berry, fully confident that her marefriend will be victorious in battle.  But Berry?  Something's triggered in her head, and she isn't seeing Cerberus the mighty warrior...
* Artifica is seeing Berry the cute little puce puffball of a filly.  Her battle saddle seems to take a life of its own, unleashing hell on the little slimy monster.
* Milia spits up a mouthful of blood and gives a hacking cough as the giant squid brings down an enormous tentacle on her. She quickly leaps to her hooves, wobbling a bit in her labored motions. The zebra shifts her position and tries to regain her composure...though she was starting to feel the pain that came with being ravaged by a giant squid-monster.
<uSeaGM> The Squidlet that had approached Berry is erased from existence by Artifica's hail of enchanted bullets.
* Artifica then notices Milia take a mighty hit.  Her head snaps up, her full attention on the giant monster and her hurt marefriend... the battle saddle not shifting away from the squid scorchmark.
* Artifica doesn't even think...  >>FLASH<<
* Artifica suddenly >>FLASH<< appears next to Milia, ready to use her limited healing magic.
* Jasmine is wrapped up by her prey once more, this time it stuck to her, and used the opportunity to take a chunk out of her with its beaklike mouth. Using the rest of her strength, she lets out a loud, ear shattering bird screech, before diging her claws directly into its eye sockets, making the squid regret its decision to get close enough to bite her
* Milia gives a bloody grin as she sees her marefriend pop next to her. "Hey sweetie...gotta say? Tentacles...not nearly as fun as I expected." She says with a labored chuckle, though it's all too apparent that she's in extraordinary pain.
<uSeaGM> Jasmine's claws find something very vital deep in its eye sockets and the creature collapses, limp and lifeless, moments later.
* Artifica grunts.  "They never are."
<Milia> 
ACTION feels a sudden burst of energy - even amid the poison that drained her strength - as Jasmine's predatory cry sounds out across the harbor. She bursts into action and tears into the large squid with a series of kicks from her powerhooves, and even manages to get a couple swipes in with her forehoof on a stray tentacle that happens to be near her. Milia even lets out a bloodied cry of rage herself as she throws her all into killing t
<Milia> (( this thing.))
* Berry Decides that enough ius enough and goes shooty in the squid's eye to see what's his brain's color
* Berry the filly goes all fluffy the kid on the giant bleh thing and hitting it is almost a no brainer
<uSeaGM> Barry's barrage of laser turns the thing's eye to jrunny jelly.

* Whisper takes careful aim and almost empties his remaining magazine into the monster's other eye. Save for one round that goes wild, all find their mark.
* Prism gallops his way over to Jasmine.   Not really knowing how hurt she is, he quickly touches his horn to her, casting a healing spell.
* Jasmine threw the squid corpse to the ground, now that she was no longer bound by it, and with the squids body no longer blocking view of her body, it is now apparent that the squid had chicken nuggets as its final meal, a small bit of her flesh having been ripped clean out. She winced a little bit, but kept a grin on her face as she looked towards Prism and gave him a chuckle. "Thanks!
<Jasmine> But you dont need to worry too much. Ive been through worse." She said through pained words
<uSeaGM> The big Squid swings one mighty tentacle at Artifica, catching the teleporting pony on her front left leg, then it reaches towards Milia...
<uSeaGM> And wraps the zebra in its tentacles. It drags her closer, towards it's waiting maw...
* Milia lets out a yelp and struggles to wriggle free. It's a futile effort. "Urgh! No! Lemme...*grrgh*...go!"
* Milia scrabbles to find purshase on the dock as she's slowly dragged toward the squid's gaping mouth. The spikes on her shoes manage to catch a crack in the stone pier's surface, and one of her hind legs even manage to make contact with the slimy appendage. Her powerhoof fires off with a loud report.
<uSeaGM> She puts up a good fight but the zebra is dragged a little closer...
* Milia lets out a strained cry as her hoof pops free of the crack and she inches ever closer.
<uSeaGM> The maw is upon her, it opens wide! There is one course of action left to the punchy zebra!
* Milia 's eyes fill with tears as her body gives out. The injuries from the fight and the poison are just too much. As her body crosses the threshold into the squid's mouth, she gives one final, anemic swing from her foreleg, planting a spiked shoe in the soft flesh of the monster's mouth. The accompanying scream felt like it could be heard for miles.
<uSeaGM> Milia's final attack surpises the beast, and it lets her go too early when it's mouth clamps shut. But...
<uSeaGM> Milia's hoof doesn't make it out with the rest of her.
* Milia 's scream is silenced as she loses consciousness. She crumples into a pile of bloody, maimed meat.
* Berry growls "that's it...."
<Prism> "No, no, no no no no.  No this can't be happening."   Prism starts to panic.
* Whisper simply stares, shocked.
* Berry the filly extracts a plasma pistol with her mouth and catches a rock from the ground with her tail, sticks the rock in the gun's muzzle, then jumps on the squid's face, pulling the triggerand sticking the gun in it's molten eye "JUST! DIE!"
* Berry the explosion sends her flying in the air with a scream
* Artifica hastily casts Spirit of Diamond on her battle saddle, realizing the machine likely couldn't even hurt this monster without it....
* Artifica 's battle saddle begins to tear into the monster with fire as Artifica pauses for the blink of an eye...
<uSeaGM> The creature still lives but barely. Plasma fire has warped and melted its shell and dozens upon dozens of tentacles are shrivelled and burned.
* Jasmine freezes up suddenly. "No... its.. its ok! Shes fine. Look, shes just... she just needs it reattatched.. itll be fine..! Right? right?" Suddenly, she charges at the beast, ignoring the pain ravaging her body, letting out another screech at what she had just witnessed. "YOU FUCKER." She suddenly explodes. "IM GONNA RIP OFF YOUR TENTACLES AND HANG YOUR HEAD IN A MUSEUM! THATS WHERE YOU BELONG!"
* Jasmine lifts off the ground and takes off like a missile, her talons extended in front of her, as she aims directly at where its stomach would be to completely shred it to pieces.
<Artifica> Artifica moves the second the hell-barrage stops, touched her hoof to Milia and >>FLASH<<
* Jasmine bursts through its chest cavity, and comes out the opposite end of it, holding onto what was left of Milias hoof by her tail
* Artifica >>FLASH<< appears a safe distance back from the monster, not wanting to let it get another chance at Milia.... not realizing there's little left of it.
* Berry gets up and shakes her head "and think about what you have done!" then moves next to milia, trying to see if she can help
<uSeaGM> The creature falls, bloody and beaten, splatting down on the stone floor.
* Berry does the only thing she knows for sur that can help. a snuglge and a lick... maybe a couple of licks
* Jasmine , having expended every ounce of energy she had in that final attack, and then some, weakly glides her way back towards the group. Too exhausted to land properly, she makes an emergency crash landing not 5 yards from the group.
* Whisper numbly trots up to Milia's side, watching helplessly.
<uSeaGM> As Artifica reaches down, she is forced away from her marefriend by a sudden wave of heat. Milia's body bursts into flame. And the zebra stands on all four hooves.
* Prism gallops to Milia's side, since Artifica could probably use his help with this.
