PERSONALITY ❘ masaaki is a different type of person. he's been effected through his past, but it's what has shaped him. though, just changes in small ways. he's still a fun boy to be around, just more cautious. though, not just for himself, but his members too. this comes in many ways, but second-hand embarrassment is his middle name. like if the members do something cringe-worthy he'll probably feel more embarrassed than them. also gets embarrassed when no one else does. that mainly comes from his closeness to the members, though. he cares a lot for the other boys and, although, sometimes more than others he tries to show them that and look after them. he knows well enough that they've all had it rough, and still do. he's practically the boys' biggest supporter and fan. he's not all mushy, however, he does bite back. often what comes with him looking after the boys, is his endless judgment. he can get really strict, yet somewhat cheeky. he's not afraid to call out a member on something and will even poke at them about it. he's always giving his members an extra push to do things, especially if they don't want to. he will use anything and everything against you to get his way.

BACKGROUND ❘ okanao masaaki or park jungmin was born to a korean father and a japanese mother, in the capital of south korea. when he was younger a lot of his life was based on his korean side, however, his mother also showed him his japanese culture he holds near to his heart today. he grew up in a simple and happy family. his mother ran a beautiful flower shop where he spent most of his free time at and his father was a successful lawyer. he had a rather nice childhood with the two. however, that came to a halt when his mother became ill and passed when he was 13. of course, like most families facing such an event, he and his father went through a grieving period. though, over the next year, it transformed his father into someone completely different. like most cases, his father became an alcholic. this is when the biggest struggle of masaaki's life began. most of the japanese culture in their house was thrown out, other than what masaaki had hidden. with it just being the two, though, it was easiest for his father to take out his emotions on him. which is what happened. masaaki went for years of pure abuse without making an effort to escape it, not wanting it to get worse. along with the abuse, all remains of his mother were just memories at this point. masaaki was the only thing left of his mother really, and it fueled his father's rage. with those memories, though, masaaki could remember all the things his mother loved, like singing. being good at singing himself, he decided to audition as a trainee. because, who knows, it might be a way to leave his own personal hell called home.
