  1. >You are Anon
  2. >And man, are you cold…
  3. >Pinkie Pie closed shop relatively early due to your arrival
  4. >You’re huddled by the fire in a blanket
  5. >This basketball jersey is doing little on its own
  6. >Taking a glance out the window, you see snow peppering the night-draped town of P0nyville
  7. >Winter? It was barely Summer back on Earth
  8. >You sigh
  9. >Pinkie Pie trots into the room holding a steaming cup
  10. >She gets up next to you and pushes it into your hands
  11. >You look up to her and smile while you grip the warm cup
  12. Thanks, Pinkie.
  13. >She sits down next to you by the fire, getting comfortable and relaxed
  14. >”No problem, Nonny.”
  15. >You take a sip of the hot beverage
  16. >Hot chocolate
  17. >And it’s absolutely delicious
  18. >You’re still trying to wrap your head around this whole “time” situation
  19. >Pinkie told you, but you find it hard to believe…
  20. So, let me get this straight, one more time…
  21. >You say. Pinkie’s ears perk up to listen
  22. It’s only been six months since I disappeared?
  23. >Pinkie gazes at the fire, then turns to you and nods
  24. >You take a sip of your hot chocolate again
  25. >How bizarre
  26. It’s been eight years back home… I just find it hard to believe.
  27. >Pinkie giggles a little
  28. >”Well, I believe! How else would you be so much bigger?”
  29. >She pokes your arm as she said this and giggles again
  30. >”Nonny’s all grown up!”
  31. >You laugh
  32. >It’s bizarre to you, for sure, but it has to be even weirder for these p0nies
  33. >Just six months ago, you were a little kid carrying around a basketball
  34. >Now you’re a grown young adult
  35. >Pinkie’s taking it so well just because she’s such a strange one already
  36. >But how would the others react?
  37. >You don’t know Rarity or Applejack all that well
  38. >Twilight might have a heart attack
  39. >Oh man, the tests and experiments she’ll run when she finds out you’ve returned…
  40. >Rainbow Dash may find it hard to call you “squirt”
  41. >She was probably your best friend out of the bunch, her reaction will be fun to see
  42. >Fluttershy…
  43. >…
  44. >Should you even tell her you’re back?
  45. >Eventually, word will spread
  46. >She’ll know sooner or later
  47. >Maybe…
  48. >…you finally have a chance to confront her about what she did
  49. >Perhaps you should use this opportunity to finally put that to rest
  50. >Well, might as well get a move on somewhere
  51. >You aren’t ready for Fluttershy, not yet
  52. >And you don’t even know where Rainbow Dash lives
  53. >She was always just kind of summoned by your basketball
  54. >So… guess that means you should go see Twilight first
  55. Hey Pinkie?
  56. >”Mhmm?” she responds with a smile
  57. You think we could go walk around town? Let some people know I’m back? Maybe Twilight?
  58. >She springs up to her feet
  59. >”Well SURE, Nonny! But…”
  60. >She’s got a puzzled look on her face
  61. >”Are you sure you want to be traveling around town in just THAT?”
  62. >She taps the porous jersey that rests on your body
  63. >You glance down to your game attire
  64. >It’s really not built for warmth
  65. >And it’s gotta be 15F outside…
  66. Well, no…
  67. >”THAT’S okay!” she exclaims, jumping in the air for emphasis, “We can just go see Rarity first! SHE’LL make you a coat!”
  68. >Sounds like a good enough idea
  69. >But it’ll be one cold walk over there…
  70.
  71. >”Nonny needs a coat! Nonny needs a coat! Nonny needs a coat!”
  72. >She chants over and over as you approach the Carousal Boutique
  73. >One of your arms is wrapped for dear life around your body as snow whips past your face, the other gripping your basketball
  74. >Good God, need warmth
  75. >Pinkie opens the door to the establishment, ringing the little bell at the top
  76. >The fireplace-heated building quickly hits you with a quick wave of warmth
  77. >It’s amazing
  78. >”Nonny needs a coat! Nonny needs a coat! Nonny needs a COAT!”
  79. >”Darling, I can hear you just FINE!”
  80. >You hear, accompanied with trotting hooves
  81. >Ms. Rarity herself rounds the corner
  82. >”Now who needs a coat, Dear?” she says, just before locking eyes with you
  83. >Her mouth gapes
  84. >You nervously laugh
  85. And some jeans too, if that’d be alright…
  86.
  87. >”EIGHT years!?” Rarity gasps, her hooves almost fumbling in surprise as she works the sewing machine
  88. Afraid so, Ms. Rarity.
  89. >She still seems a little in shock
  90. >”Well, that DOES explain your rather fast growth spurt…”
  91. >She takes a deep sigh
  92. >”So I suppose you won’t be needing those anymore, hmm?”
  93. >She motions to a folded pair of clothes sitting atop a shelf
  94. >You walk over and take a look
  95. >A nice white collared shirt and black dress pants unfold before you
  96. >…they’re several sizes too small
  97. >You laugh
  98. No, I won’t. Wish I didn’t leave so suddenly, I could have worn these back home. They’re great looking.
  99. >You smirk over toward her
  100. >She giggles
  101. >”Anon, you flatter me.”
  102. >She shuts off the machine for a second, and tosses you a pair of dark blue jeans
  103. >”Perhaps these are more your size, though, hmm?”
  104. >You open them up before you and take a look
  105. >Man, this is some high quality stuff
  106. Yeah, looks like it. Thanks Ms. Rarity.
  107. >”Well go ahead, try them on!”
  108. Yeah, will do.
  109. >You leave the room for a moment, slip off your shorts, and throw the jeans on
  110. >They’re a perfect fit
  111. >How does that mare do it?
  112. >You step back in the room
  113. >They’re incredibly, Ms. Rarity, thanks.
  114. >She giggles again
  115. >”Well, glad you like them. You can try them together with these!”
  116. >She tosses two other articles of clothing at you
  117. >A larger, white collared shirt and a black jacket
  118. >Amazing quality, very stylish looking
  119. >This shit would go for a lot of money back home
  120. This is great! Thanks!
  121. >”Think nothing of it, dear!”
  122. >She hops off her sewing machine
  123. >”Now while it’s great that you’re back in town, Anon, I do have other business I need to tend to.”
  124. >Well, not that you planned on sticking around anyway
  125. Sure, no prob, I’ll make myself scarce. Come on, Pinkie!
  126. >Her snot bubble pops and she jerks herself awake
  127. >”OH! Twilight’s! Okay, let’s go, Nonny!”
  128.
  129. >You two step outside, the cold air not bothering you nearly as much now
  130. >You bounce your ball once or twice, then catch it again
  131. >Take a deep breath
  132. >”Something on your mind, Nonny?”
  133. >You look over to the smiley pink mare
  134. Not really. Just wondering how she’ll react.
  135. >”HAPPILY, silly! She missed you like CRAZY!”
  136. >You smirk a little
  137. Really?
  138. >”Of course! She took your disappearance really hard…”
  139. >Did Twilight think that highly of you?
  140. >Maybe she was more upset she didn’t get to study you further
  141. >That entire last day, if you recall correctly, was just her being extremely giddy about the princess’s arrival to see you
  142. >Man, wonder what SHE thought of your sudden disappearance
  143. Well, in that case, better not keep her waiting.
  144. >The walk over to Twilight’s library only took about five minutes
  145. >Pinkie kept the walk feeling shorter with her talking
  146. >You really do like this p0ny. You remember thinking as much when you were a kid
  147. >The tree comes into view, and a wave of nostalgia hits you
  148. >This was your residence for those few days all those years ago…
  149. >You look over to the side of the tree
  150. >There’s your basketball net, still sitting firmly against the side of the tree
  151. >Funny… the snow around it is cleared
  152. >You arrive at the door, take another deep breath, then knock a couple of times
  153. >After a moment, the door creeks open
  154. >A small purple dragon is staring at your knees
  155. >Then looks up to your eyes
  156. >His mouth gapes
  157. >You laugh a little
  158. Well, you aren’t quite Smaug YET, but you’re at least a little bit bigger than when I last saw you.
  159. >He doesn’t move
  160. >”Anon…? Is that you?”
  161. >You hold out your fist for a bump
  162. The one and only, buddy.
  163. >His gape quickly turns to a huge smile, and he pounds your fist back
  164. >”Come in! Come in!” he says, ushering you and Pinkie Pie into the house quickly.
  165. >He runs over to the middle of the room
  166. >”Hey Twilight! You’ll never BELIEVE who just stopped in for a visit!”
  167. >You can hear a soft rummaging coming from downstairs
  168. >”Who Spike? I’m very busy at the moment.”
  169. >”Come up and see for yourself!”
  170. >You hear a groan, then the echo of trotting hooves
  171. >”If it’s Fluttershy, tell her I still don’t want to talk to her after—“
  172. >She arrives upstairs and cuts herself off after spotting you
  173. >Her pupils shrink, and like everyone else who’s seen you, her mouth gapes
  174. >You smile, then let loose a little laugh
  175. Well, it’s good to see you too, Ms. Sparkle.
  176. >She doesn’t move
  177. >”I…I… it’s…”
  178. >Her eyes roll back into her head a little, and her legs give out
  179. >Poor little thing passed out right on the ground
  180.
  181. >Spike and Pinkie are in the other room conversing
  182. >They figured Twilight would want to talk to you alone
  183. >You’re not exactly sure why
  184. >You picked her up and placed her on her bed
  185. >You remember the last time you were here, she enjoyed petting
  186. >So you started petting her as she slept
  187. >That was five minutes ago, and she seems closer to waking up now
  188. >Each pet seems to trigger a vibration in her
  189. >This happened the last time you were here, too…
  190. >There’s some kind of wet spot coming from around under her belly
  191. >Or between her legs?
  192. >Oh no, did she…
  193. >…wet the bed?
  194. >That’s a little embarrassing…
  195. >You’ll pretend not to notice when she wakes up
  196. >Don’t want to embarrass her or anything
  197. >She starts stirring a little in her sleep, mumbling
  198. >You think you hear your name a couple of times
  199. >You just keep petting
  200. >Not much long after, you see her eyes creak slowly open
  201. >She slowly turns her head sleepily to you
  202. >You smile
  203. Well, good morning there, sleepy head.
  204. >This snaps her right awake
  205. >”Oh my gosh… it really can’t… are you… Anon?”
  206. That’s me.
  207. >You say, trying a little Tommy Wiseau impression
  208. >”B-But… how!?”
  209. >She starts prodding and feeling all over your body
  210. >”Your arms! Your chest! Your legs! Your… YOU! They’re all so much bigger!”
  211. >She’s starting to tickle you, so you gently push her away
  212. >She follows your hand’s guide and falls into a sitting position
  213. Well, that’s what happens to people over time. Eight years will age me accordingly.
  214. >”Eight years!? It’s barely been six months!”
  215. That’s what I’ve been hearing…
  216. >You stare at the ground in thought
  217. Everyone I’ve seen says it’s only been around half a year. But back home, it’s been far, far longer.
  218. >She levitates a book over to her
  219. >”That’s fascinating…”
  220. >She’s flipping through it
  221. >”There must be some odd discrepancy between the flow of time in our worlds!”
  222. >The book doesn’t seem to be telling her much, so she tosses it aside
  223. >She sighs
  224. >”But…” she starts, averting her eyes a little
  225. >“At least you’re back…”
  226. >She hesitates for a second, then thrusts herself against you, nuzzling you
  227. >”I missed you…”
  228. >You’re in cute shellshock for a minute
  229. >Then you smile, and hug her back
  230. >”I missed you too, Twilight.”
  231. >Well, there’s Twilight down. You still need to see Rainbow Dash and…
  232. >Fluttershy…
  233. Twilight.
  234. >She breaks the nuzzle and looks up at you; you have her attention
  235. What was that you were saying about Fluttershy earlier?
  236. >Her face contorts to that of disgust
  237. >She pushes off of you and hops off the bed
  238. >”Well, her and I haven’t been getting along very well after you… left.”
  239. >You swing your legs over the edge of the bed
  240. What happened?
  241. >She turns back at you
  242. >”What happened? Anon, do you… not remember that afternoon?”
  243. >You laugh a little, to cover the serious emotions you have about the subject
  244. Actually… I wish I could just forget it…
  245. >She stares at you, you back at her
  246. No, I remember. I take it Rainbow Dash told you?
  247. >She nods
  248. >”Rainbow Dash told everyp0ny. Not everyp0ny believed her, but we all did. The five of us.”
  249. >You know who she’s referring to
  250. >”She’s given an explanation, and some of us forgave her. Rainbow Dash and I… haven’t really. We feel it was inexcusable.”
  251. >Understandable. You were closest to these two, only natural they’d feel the need to guard you
  252. >”She’s shut herself almost completely in since that. Tried to talk to us a few times, but neither of us want to hear it.”
  253. >You nod to show you’re listening
  254. >”And… I’m just not sure I can forgive her.”
  255. >You nod a few more times, poke your tongue against the side of your cheek, then stand up
  256. Well… I’m glad you’ve stuck by me, even in my absence.
  257. >You rustle her mane, and she blushes a little
  258. But I need to talk to her.
  259. >Her mouth gapes
  260. >”Anon, you can’t! Not after what she did to you!”
  261. >You laugh
  262. I’m not the same kid I was eight years…. I mean, six months ago. Trust me, I can handle myself.
  263. >She still looks worried
  264. Fluttershy can’t do anything to me. I just need to talk to her. I need this… resolved.
  265. >She looks to the ground. You can tell she’s worried
  266. >You walk over to her and kneel down
  267. Hey,
  268. >You say, putting a finger under her chin, raising her eyes to yours
  269. I’ll be fine. And I’ll be back. Promise.
  270. >She smiles a little
  271. Do I still have a place to sleep here? I mean, if you’re alright with that.
  272. >She beams
  273. >”Of course you can, Anon! I’ll have your spot ready for when you get back!”
  274. >Ahh, the memories. Your “spot” at Twilight’s
  275. >…hope she doesn’t invite you to sleep in her bed again
  276. >…could that have been what she meant all that time ago…?
  277. >You shake it off
  278. >Hell no. Not Twilight here
  279. >She’s already grabbing blankets and sheets
  280. Be back later, alright?
  281. >She smiles and nods
  282. >You walk to the door, grab your basketball once again, say goodbye to Pinkie and Spike, and leave the library
  283. >The basketball thuds loudly through town, just like it did that evening so many years ago
  284. >You keep to the streets to avoid the snow, before breaking off into the path toward Fluttershy’s cottage
  285. >As you get closer, your heart starts to beat a little faster
  286. >Why are you so nervous? She can’t do anything to you
  287. >Would she even try?
  288. >You doubt it. Maybe she’s actually really sorry about it
  289. >Well, only one way to find out…
  290. >Soon, the babbling brook by her cottage starts to become audible
  291. >Next thing you know, you’re in front of her house
  292. >You grip the ball between your fingers for a sec, then tuck it firmly under your arm
  293. >You breathe deeply, then knock on her door
  294. >Silence for a second
  295. >”Who is it?”
  296. …Fluttershy, it’s me.
  297. >A little more silence
  298. >”…I’m sorry, but I don’t recognize your voice.”
  299. It’s me… Anon.
  300. >There’s a longer pause
  301. >”…ha ha, very funny. You don’t need to tease me about it, you know…”
  302. No, Fluttershy, I’m serious. It’s me, I’m back. Open up, please.
  303. >You bounce your basketball a few times. Maybe that’ll trigger something
  304. >One more bit of silence… then the sound of locks turning can be heard
  305. >The door creaks open a little bit
  306. >There she is… the traumatizing yellow mare herself, Fluttershy
  307. >Not that you’re traumatized or anything
  308. >She gazes up at you, same as all the other p0nies
  309. >You stare back
  310. >You could cut the tension with a knife
  311. >”…you’re not Anon.”
  312. I am Anon.
  313. >”But… but Anon is small and cute, and sweet… you’re… you’re big, and… strong and… ”
  314. >She starts mumbling
  315. I grew up.
  316. >She looks deep into your eyes
  317. >Very deep, like she’s trying to grasp at something in your consciousness
  318. >She gazes over to the basketball
  319. >She studies your face
  320. >You think she’s making the realization
  321. >It really is you
  322. Fluttershy, we need to talk.
  323.
  324. End of Part 6
