REASON FOR DOX


Police dispatch center received a 911 call at 8:21 p.m. about a individual who was waving a “rifle type weapon” at store customers.

In a recording of the 911 call that brought officers to the scene, the caller described a man – later identified as Father of two small children, John Crawford age 22, of Cincinnati.
LeeCee Johnson, the mother of Crawford's children, said she was on a phone call with Crawford when he was killed by the officers.

Crawford claimed he was in the video games section of the store playing games before he went to the toy section to look at toy guns. The next thing she claims she heard was Crawford saying, "it's not real" before police shout, "get on the ground."

"I could hear him crying and screaming. I feel like they shot him down like he was not even human,"
The woman has two children with Crawford: John, who is 1, and Jayden, who is four months old. Johnson recently found out she was pregnant with a third child, but never got a chance to tell the 22-year-old.

 Two officers involved in the shooting were Sgt. David Darkow and Officer Sean Williams.

A Mother and her 2 children also became victims.
 As The woman identified as Angela D. Williams 37, stood nearby she attempted to rush the kids out of harms way,
And as a result, She collapsed and died in front of her 10-yo daughter.
The Greene County Coroner’s Office > A release from the coroner stated that she was apparently running from the dangerous situation in Wal-Mart when she collapsed.


After the shooting, Chief Dennis Evers, Beavercreek police Department, said: 'Officers confronted the subject inside the store area near the pet supplies holding a rifle. The officers gave verbal command to the subject to drop the weapon.


Dayton attorney Michael Wright, retained by Crawford’s family, said arrangements are being made for a funeral in Cincinnati on Aug. 16.


John Crawford III’s manner of death was listed as homicide,
Crawford’s time of death was listed as 9:23 p.m. at Miami Valley Hospital.

Crawford was shot after police said he did not drop an air rifle when instructed to do so by Beavercreek police officer Sean Williams and Sgt. David Darkow.

Officer involved in another deadly shooting > Scott Brogli 45,
 A retired Air Force Master Sgt. was shot and killed by Beavercreek police Officer Sean Williams at the couple’s Primrose Place apartment Sunday June 27,2010  after police responded to multiple 911 calls about a domestic dispute.
 Williams shot and killed him after the man charged him and another officer while carrying a large kitchen knife. Brogli died from a single gunshot wound to the chest, as his 17-year-old son watched the incident unfold.
