+Freddie Sparks __ That's a simple enough question and so here is a simple enough answer:

If it were a hyper realistic costume being presented in a "real world" context *how would you know* it's not real unless you saw something impossible? Merely because it "looks real" to you it's real?

To help you understand this point: watch the following 4.5 minute prank video and tell me if you think *everyone* present was in on the prank or not. In other words - was the "real prank" on the audience watching at home for (at least initially) thinking that *some* people at the zoo could believe they were looking at two "real" gorillas?

Or do you imagine we are shown genuine reactions from genuine people because the prank had a "real world" context (at least initially) and they "trusted the expert" (who is a well-known animal guru in Australia)?

Had you been there - how would *you* have reacted _up until_ the gorillas began to do unlikely and impossible things? Link: watch?v=byp0q_O1Fss

Had the two "comedians" wearing gorilla costumes - which were *not at all* hyper realistic (I'd say the gorilla costumes were intentionally obvious) - simply sat there and acted like real gorillas do you think anyone would have suspected anything amiss?

Do you think that *you* would have realised they weren't real? Because if it "looks real" in a real world "context" - how is your mind going to perceive it as anything other than real?

Do you think no one is interested in deceiving people like this beyond jokes and obvious pranks? Not even for "psychological research"?
