- Mikee is abusing his moderator powers.
- A user asked where he could download a copy of Windows 8.
- I told the user that he could get legit copies from Pirate Bay and gave a link. Before I could say "Just don't use any cracks, and check the MD5s before installing", I was kicked by Mikee.
- Upon rejoining, I was told that I was kicked for posting a link to pirated content.
- I did not; instead, I posted the link to search results on a website that sometimes hosts pirated content. The link was specifically for a person who had a license and needed decidedly NOT pirated content.
- I tried to explain this reasonably, and was immediately kicked again for saying:
- 2:27:49 PMTimothy_DavisPirate Bay doesn't ONLY have pirated material
- I rejoined, and was told that I was kicked for disagreeing with the mod. I was then muted, and told that I had to "apologize without making excuses" or I wouldn't be allowed to talk again.
- I refuse to apologize for attempting to help someone, and then attempting to explain why what I did was not the same thing as posting pirated content in a respectful way.
- You may as well make conversations with mods against the rules wholesale if "arguing" isn't allowed, and if explaining what actually happened counts as arguing.
- I was not rude, I didn't capslock at him, I didn't curse at him, I didn't push the issue for more than 2 sentences -- I simply stated clearly, what actually happened, and that I didn't post a link to pirated content.
- I come to this chatroom to help people. If tyrannical mods who abuse their power like this are the norm, then it's no skin off my nose to help elsewhere. I don't expect that I'll ever be un-muted, and I'm fine with that. I don't want to be in a chatroom where Mikee is. I'm just letting you know because I think you ought to do something about it. Not because I think you will, but because I think you should.
