peration,  use  or  visible  possession  of  an  electronic  device
or  accessories

including  a  cell  phone,
headphones/  ear  buds,
iPods
,  MP3  player,  CD  player,  Tape  player,
DVD player, Camera, or personal computer is prohibited during normal school hours, 7:55

3:15, Monday through Saturday.  A device in the ‘on’ position is considered ‘in’ operation or
use.    Non

visible possession is allowed.”  No electronic devises are allo
wed  in  the  SAC  room
and must be turned in when entering the room and will be returned at the end of the day.
The unauthorized use of  an electronic device in a classroom is defined as  a disruptive activity for
which  the  electronic  device  may  be  confiscated
.
Electronic  devices  should  only  be  used  in  the
classroom for teaching and learning.
PENALTIES
–
Students  who  violate  this  policy  shall  be  subject  to  established  disciplinary
measures.    District  employees  shall  confiscate  an  electronic  device  found  in  ope
ration,  as  defined
above, on school property or found in operation while attending school
-
sponsored or school
-
related
activities  on  or  off  school  property.    (See  EXCEPTION  above.)  Each  confiscated  device  will  be
returned to the student a
fter school at a co
st of $15.00 and/or SAC time.
DISPOSAL
-
Parents  shall  be  notified  within  two  school  days  after  the  electronic  device  is
confiscated.  If a telecommunication company’s name and address appears on the device, campus
officials shall notify the company.  Pare
nts or telecommunication companies may obtain the release
of  the  telecommunication  device  for  a  fee  to  be  determined  by  the  Administration.    Unclaimed,
confiscated electronic devices shall be held by the District for a period of 30 days after notification
has  been  made.    After  the  30
-
day  period  has  expired,  the  District  shall  dispose  of  the  electronic
device.

LOST  OR  STOLEN  ELECTRONIC  DEVICES  ARE  NOT  THE  RESPONSIBILITY  OF
THE    SCHOOL    AND    SCHOOL    OF
FICIALS    WILL    NOT    INVESTIGATE    ANY
INCIDENCES WHERE THESE ITEMS ARE LOST OR STOLEN.
