Channel Regulations

Welcome to #secrettoon, the official IRC channel of the Secret Toon Society!
While we are hoping to create a welcoming community for those who share a love of Toontown with a more relaxed style of moderation, we are not looking to create a free-for-all of inappropriate interactions, harassment, and spam.
Enjoy the "adult friendly" freedom, but please follow the channels regulations. Mods reserve the right to kick or ban anyone not adhering to the regulations or jeopardizing the safety of the channel and its members.

1. Please, no spam. Sending multiple relevant messages is fine. Sending a stream of nonsense is not, and you will be kicked. Common sense will tell you what is and is not spam, but we're here to give you a friendly reminder when necessary.
2. While this channel has an "adult friendly" rating as opposed to the family friendly expectation of other channels, this is not a freedom meant to be abused. Feel free to drop a few naughty words here and there, but please, we expect maturity here. Excessive cursing will not be tolerated - express yourself how you choose, but please exercise your vocabulary a bit. We don't want a sea of vulgarity.
3. In regards to personal information, this is at the discretion of the user. Feel free to disclose details about yourselves to others, but within reason. Sharing your first name, age, city/state, and gender is acceptable. Sharing your last name, address or specific details used to locate you, or anything else that could potentially put your safety at risk will not be tolerated. Sharing things like Skype names or social media profiles will not be tolerated in the general channel. Please take these things to a PM if you feel so inclined. We cannot guarantee anyone's safety outside of where we can moderate, so anything that happens in a PM or social media venue is at your own risk.
4. As this is a Toontown based channel, please do not ask for, or share account details. Discussing ways of hacking or causing harm to other toons or servers will not be tolerated. Any actual proof of such behaviors will be forwarded to appropriate staff members. This is for your safety and for ours!
5. This channel, while based around Toontown, is open to discussion of any topics within reason. All servers are supported here, and we encourage toony chat as much as possible. If you'd like to branch out and talk about your day, your job - while keeping rule 2 in mind - other games, movies, shows, politics, whatever else, please feel free. Please keep in mind, however, that anything you choose to discuss that branches into an argument or starts producing harassment will be halted. Go ahead and have a friendly debate, but please keep it mature and respectful. As well, this is an adult friendly channel, but there is a time and a place for everything. Please keep discussions of overly sexual or violent content to a more private venue. Use common sense when deciding on a topic of conversation. "Will this offend someone? Is this incredibly inappropriate to talk to acquaintances about? Should I maybe keep this to myself?" are good questions to ask before typing. We want this to be a safe, friendly environment where everyone can feel comfortable.
6. Branching off of rule 5, harassment, arguments, and bullying will absolutely not be tolerated. If you feel that someone is attacking you, query a mod and we will handle things as soon as possible. Name calling, witch-hunting, general disrespect, flaming, and other toxic behaviors aren't welcome here. This is a place for toons to interact respectfully, so please keep that in mind.
7. We'd like to think that our mods are a bit more relaxed, and definitely fair. However, mistakes happen. If you've received a ban, you are expected to carry it out. If you feel that it has been unjust, please send us an email at modmailsecrettoon@gmail.com and we will address the situation as soon as possible.
8. Above all, this channel is adult friendly. This means that content discussed here is meant for "mature" toons. While there is no way to verify the age of anyone entering this channel, we ask that you please stick to family friendly communities if adult content will bother you - or if it is simply something you should no be viewing. You join this channel at your own risk. There are freedoms here that the other channels do not offer, and we hope you will appreciate them. In return we ask that you be mature and refrain from abusing them.

Disclaimer: This IRC channel is not, as of this moment, in any way associated with any private server. While most of our mods are part of the TTR community, we are in no way staff members, devs, etc. We are also not affiliated with any established IRC channels relating to the game - #toontownrewritten, for instance. We have no power over any server, IRC channel, or subreddit that isn't directly related to our "adult friendly" community. You are welcome to try to form groups or runs in this channel, but realize that anything that happens inside the game is out of our control. We are all toons here, and share a love of Toontown and all facets of the community. This channel is simply here to provide a more relaxed, less family friendly environment we can all enjoy.
