『Background』; Jiyoo was born as the first daughter of the Blackthorne household and has a 2 years younger brother Jisso. Her parents' marriage was an arranged marriage as her grandfathers from both sides wanted to merge their companies into one. Even though the marriage was arranged her parents eventually grew mutual feelings, or so it looked to the outside world as they got along well and had two children. Her mother - despite moving to a foreign country to marry she had barely met, she picked up her life well there and started working in their family companies branch there. Jiyoo's mother had stayed home until Jiyoo was 6 and Jisoo had turned 4, after that she went to the office frequently and they hired a nanny to take care of the children. From when she was young, Jiyoo had barely seen her father - a busy business tycoon, thus her close bond with her mom and distant bond with her father.

All seemed to go well despite the cold upbringing where siblings mostly depended on each other, as their nannies switched more frequently than their bedsheets got changed until Jiyoo turned 10. It was quite visible that there was more tension around the house as of lately, and that their parents had been falling out against each other quite a lot. Especially when they thought their kids were asleep but in fact could still hear them. Despite loving romantic stories, Jiyoo wasn't dumb to think that her parents had a restorable relationship. Ever since her mom started working, they barely saw each other and the only thing that connected her parents together were Jiyoo and Jisoo.

Something was going to happen Jiyoo could sense this and Jisoo - albeit younger than her, got frequently stressed out by the situation at home too. At those times she would hide with him in their playroom or bedroom and build blanket forts. She would then tell him stories she made up and Jisoo would gradually relax as he got indulged in the stories, and forgot the loud voices in the background. This lasted until Jiyoo turned 12 and Jisoo turned 10. Her parents had by then given up on fighting, and their home was a cold minefield. Even when trying to talk with their children, they would purposely make sure to come at different times.

In those times Jiyoo knew her mom was talking a lot with her parents back in South-Korea, and from what she could faintly hear on the phone they were persuading her to come back. Even when meeting them now after 10 years have passed since the divorce, she knew her grandparents from moms side felt guilty about forcing their daughter into such a marriage. As said before, in the end, her mother caved into their persuasion and filed a divorce against her father who didn't even try to stop her. He didn't bother showing up at the court, for the custody rulings just because had an important meeting. Within a month everything had been packed and they were on the flight to South-Korea, a foreign country for Jiyoo and her brother who had grown up in a western environment. In that last month in their father's house, she had only seen him two times, two times in which he briefly smiled at her before rushing into his office. If her relationship with her father had been disastrous until now, from then on it evaporated.

After returning back to her familiar and beloved environment, their mother turned in to a whole different person. The constant tension in her shoulders left her visibly, and she became so much more open towards her children. She would be constantly humming around the house, walking around with a smile whilst in London, she never lifted her head or even raised her voice. She wanted her children to forget all the bad memories and decided to show them her childhood in Seoul. She took them to al her favorite places - at times accompanied by their grandparents or aunts and uncles and slowly made the children get used to the big city. Jiyoo and Jisoo came to love the city just like their mother, as her enthusiasm and happiness were quite infectible.

Somehow as her home became warmer, Jiyoo had fewer issues with getting used to her new school and making new friends. Just like her mother who looked forward with a positive look, Jiyoo let her past behind and started living in the future too. It was no use pondering about a father who had never put an effort in them, and he wasn't worth wasting her life on. She had a happy family here, and seemingly good friends too. The changes she noticed in herself, could also be seen in Jisoo who turned a lot brighter and became less wary of people and places. A change that filled Jiyoo with happiness to the brim.

Although her life had changed drastically in many ways, she never gave up and by talking with her mother - who opened up a lot more to them after leaving the suffocated London house, she learned to slowly voice out more of her thoughts and opinions. Jiyoo learned that it was important to talk about feelings, and what you think and she wanted to reflect that too other people. Oblivious to it, she had given herself a mature stance during the divorce of her parents, because she wanted to take care of Jisoo, and she hadn't noticed how much it had weighed down on her until the weight finally left her shoulders.

Her mother picked up a job in their families company in their Seoul branch, and a few peaceful years followed were they happily finished middle school, high school and started attending University. Jiyoo made a close group of treasured friends and uni was going well. Even when she found out about the polaroid incident, she only got excited. She didn't believe in marriage and relationships that were not out of love, and she took the Polaroid as an extra confirmation of that belief.

『Personality』;
• Daydreamer - semi introvert: Hanging out with people and friends is something Jiyoo loves to do, but a lot of times it drains and sucks her energy. At those times she needs a recharge moment, and she'll search for some solitude or enclose herself away in her thoughts. At those times her thoughts would mostly travel to the fantasy places she read about in books, or once she thought up herself. At times Jiyoo might even daydream about her soulmate and their future together. She really wants to have kids and start a family, and this ideal picture always seems to fit well with the soulmate idea. At other times her mind goes into the deeper parts, and her mind thinks about her values and her perception.
• Thinker - She's a deep thinker. When she seriously mulls over something, she forgets everything and zero-in her mind over her subject of thinking. Her friends might call her a lost personality, absent-minded, a day-dreamer, scattered-brain or maybe crazy. But only she knows what her mind is up to!
• Open minded - Jiyoo's the type to welcome anyone and anything with an open mind - although if it's kinky shit she'll need a bit of time to adapt, eventually she'll be able to get used to that too. She's not afraid of her ideas being challenged, and instead gets intrigued by someone else's ideas and opinions. When someone tells her she's wrong, she doesn't get angry, instead, she'll be curious about why there is disagreement or why that person thinks like that. When she meets someone new she'll ask genuine questions and focus on what she doesn't know rather than constantly talking about herself. Whenever in a conversation, she'll ask more questions than she makes statements and encourages others to voice their views so she can learn from it, and discuss with them about it. She'll use the information to make her own view even bigger. Basically, if you tell her you're into crossdressing, she'll be like "Cool, what attracts you to this hobby?" instead of being weirded or grossed out. If you ask her to join in on your antics she'll just be like "Sure, why not try it."

She knows it’s a crazy and unrealistic thought, but she's still ready for it, and the prospect of it excites her more than anything in the world. Especially since she found out about the polaroid, she would sometimes randomly pull it out from her pocket and just stare at it whilst constantly sighing. Jiyoo's the type to never really stop loving her ex, not because she wants to get back together with him or because she has forgotten why they broke up in the first place, but because she doesn't ever want to let go of the warmth she still feels when she thinks about the best moments they had together. She wants to treasure her past love as a good memory, and not one that ended negatively. Some of her biggest crushes have been on characters from the books she has read, which is one the reasons she reads. You could also call it her guilty pleasure. Because she's such a hopeless romantic, and someone who seems in love with the idea of being in love, people expect her to be easy but actually her heart is really picky. At times her brain thinks she should feel guilty for how picky her heart is. Yet she knows her heart doesn’t give a shit about what her brain thinks and it never has. At times when Ji-Yoo is really into her thoughts. she'll fantasize about being a parent. She doesn't think about the sleepless nights, the tantrums, or the diminished free time. Those things don’t matter to her. Instead, she thinks about how amazing it will be to share someone, to love someone, to watch someone grow who’s so uniquely part of her, and also part of the one person she has been dreaming of meeting all of her life.

• Carefree - Whenever someone asks Jiyoo how she could be so happy and carefree, she answers "Life is all about exploring, chasing a passion, and pursuing things that give you eternal happiness. Why waste your life on unneeded dreading, when there's a whole world waiting to explore?" Even her friends who know about her though background with her parents, find her admirable for her carefree and positive attitude. They know she'll never regret a decision she makes because she only makes decisions that satisfy her the utmost. Jiyoo doesn't like dreading and clinging on the past, just like her parents moved on, she picked up her life too and made the best of it. She isn't carefree as in "I don't care about responsibilities, let's just get wasted." because there's a stealthy difference between being recklessly carefree, and carefreely aware. She's carefree as in "We'll only live this moment once, so we should live it without regrets."
• Difficulties with showing negative emotions - Being carefree does not mean that Jiyoo does not care. She deeply cares for everything close to her heart; the only problem is that she's bad at expressing her feelings -  especially negative ones. If some says I love you, you might just sit still and do nothing because you have no clue how to react, even if you love that person a lot. Or if someone asks her if she's feeling down, she'll hurry to mask it with a smile, waving it off as being lost in thoughts. She's trying to work on this issue, and one day hopes she can open up to someone without stiffening up or masking it away.
• Mother Theresa of her friends' group - Because of her cheerful yet thoughtful nature, people love her company and like sharing their problems with her. They find her easy to confide in. She will be all ears to their problems, listening actively and sharing their emotions, it always ends with Jiyoo giving them the most practical advice. Even if she isn't able to solve their problem, she'll definitely help boost their mood and self-esteem.

If she needs to call out someone on her wrong doing's she'll do it and isn't afraid of a confrontation. She especially does it in a calm and non-aggressive way, easily getting her voice trough to people.

『How they first reacted to the Polaroid situation』; Jiyoo was quite surprised, but also curious. She had seen how her parent's marriage had ended in shambles so she started wondering if this might lead to a successful, lifelong love. One that would overcome any hurdle, and a bond she could trust blindly on.

She had already seen reality once, so her commence sense told her to think rationally but her hopelessly romantic, and daydreaming side couldn't help but make her heart flutter at the thought of someone just for her. Someone who had been decided to be perfect for her, no matter what happened and she couldn't help but want a perfect ending in life for herself.

『How do they act around their friend group?』;
Jiyoo is her usually positive and carefree self. Although her motherly side can come out a bit frequenter, depending on which of her friends she is with, but mostly it will be a lot off laughs and weird moments with inside jokes only she and her friends understand. Jiyoo's also the planner off the group, she'll think of ideas to do or meet up, like escape rooms, cafe dates or city, and shopping trips. Her friends know they'll never be bored if they let her plan their meetups, but at times Jiyoo has this sixth sense where she knows they all just need a breather, and they go to a spa or hold a movie night to talk and just reload. Usually, her friends go to her for advice or when they are troubled with certain things and just want to get the load off their shoulder.

『Relationship with each of the slots』;
• Masterpiece: Since Jiyoo and Masterpiece have a lot of similarities in character they get along quite well. They fuss over the others together, and at times talk like old ladies. Jiyoo is the one to take care of masterpiece if she has tripped or something. They became friends when Jiyoo was on shift in the health/nursing ward and masterpiece came to get a bandage.

• Fetish: 2/3 of the 95 trio (as they have baptized themselves). Jiyoo is one of the few people - along with sorry not sorry, who fetish hasn't pushed out. From the moment they met Jiyoo always thought fetish was cool, and somehow her infectious optimism made fetish become her friend.

• Sorry not Sorry: 2/3 of the 95 trios (as they have baptized themselves). If fetish and sorry not sorry are the bad bitches duo of the 95 trios, Jiyoo is the one who tempers them down a bit, and who stops sorry, not sorry from getting herself into trouble at times. Jiyoos the one who takes pictures of sorry not sorry, when she thinks she looks extremely fine and is feeling herself a lot. Sorry not sorry always tried to change Jiyoo (for fun) in the beginning into a savage bitch too, but soon gave up when she noticed that Jiyoo wouldn't change and started admiring her for this.

• Baby Boy: Baby boy and Jiyoo are Instagram friends - after baby boy visited Taek-Woons cafe and started a chat with Jiyoo at the counter, and shared a few extra-English classes together. Jiyoo has always thought that baby boy was a very sexy person. They even sat together during English lectures, and Jiyoo still helps baby boy frequently with her English.

• Honey: Jiyoo has passed by Honey a few times in the corridors, and always wondered how the girl could be so bright and wondered if people thought that of herself too. Honey always looked like she was ready to dive into the next adventure, and whenever she is around other people they always seem to be laughing. Late Jiyoo found out that Taek-Woon knew Honey through his contacts, and she found out honey was bisexual.

• Better off: She's known around the campus as a wild, aloof and "living by no ones rules" type of girl, but Jiyoo has once seen a different side from her. A side where she sat at a cafe, in the back with a cup of coffee looking like she had no directions left in life.

• Issues: Jiyoo guided her through the campus grounds (since she was part of the student board committee in her first two years of uni ) when Issues was a freshman. She looked very innocent and cute in Jiyoo's eyes, the type that might feel overwhelmed by all the new things in college. They kept contact even after the introductions were over, because Jiyoo told Issues to hit her up if she needed help, and Jiyoo started babying Issues slightly throughout the years. They clicked even more after they found out they have similar ideal believes about love.

• Born this way: Jiyoo caught her smuggling pineapple pizza into the toilet and born this way was about to think of an excuse when a polaroid dropped out of born these ways pocket. Much to Jiyoo's surprise, the Polaroid was similar to her. Born this way, on the other hand, thought Jiyoo would look at her disgusted because of the pizza smuggling, but instead, she picked up the Polaroid and said "Wow, you're the same as me. We both have the soulmate polaroid." and Sunflower just gave her a wow-did-not-expect-that look. After born this way finished her pizza - still in the toilet,  she and Jiyoo had a talk about what was really going on, they bonded over the same problem and somehow Jiyoo managed to become born this way trust person.

• Copycat: Jiyoo doesn't know the girl personally, but has seen her put a guy - who tried flirting with her, in his place after he had been bothering her for a while. Jiyoo was mentally cheering her on, but at a certain point, she thought the girl was being too harsh.

• Baby I: Once passed her in the hallway and heard her say "I like this whole soulmate thing, but I just don't get it." Before Jiyoo could react, the girl had disappeared and since she didn't remember her face, she ended up forgetting the occurrence after a while.

• Boo'd up: Jiyoo always thought this girl looked like she was holding a constant inner monologue about life, but she never really talked to her except for the small smiles when they passed each other in the library.

• Dear no one: Has once seen her drinking a coffee in solitude at the cafe, and Jiyoo always thought the girl looked very pleased in solitude. She doesn't know dear no one personally other than that.

『Thoughts on other soulmates』; From Jiyoo's point of view the whole soulmates system is very nice. Even if you're personality is as cold as ice, she still believes there's someone out there who can warm you up. Besides that she's happy there are others like her, on their way to find happiness with their better halves.

『Requested scenes with other slots』;
-  A chaotic scene where they are all together in one room, with all the soulmates too and all of their polaroids start changing. Some go into a crazy frenzy to find the right person, by running around. Others stay calmly seated, waiting for the image to fully develop.
- Having a meeting together in Jiyoos house to talk about the "polaroids", and everyone sharing their experiences in love and just having a good girl talk.
- Mission: Get together (one off the couples), al the girls join in on a plan to get together the couple that has the highest like the ability to get together.
- The unnie line of the group getting totally wasted because they are done with men and their issues, but the youngest lines don't know what to do, so they call everyone's soulmate to fix this mess but it turns in to an even bigger frenzy.

『How do they act around their Soulmate?』;
Beginning: When they've found out about being each other's soulmate, it's suddenly like awkward bean 1 and 2 have been put together. They've been wanting to find and meet the other so much, that they are overflowing with happiness, but they don't know how to put in words and become awkward. Although after getting to know each other for a while they're definitely developing a bond and crush deeper than just the idea of having a soulmate. Yet Taeyong still feels nervous and insecure about asking Jiyoo out, despite their mutual feelings. He's nervous about what she would think if she found about his past, something he regrets a lot (We all know he does). So despite Jiyoo's romantic believes of the guy asking the girl out, she musters her courage and asks him out. He agrees but in a slight held back way, and she wonders if she was wrong about him having the same feelings al along. She then ends up in a talk with Jaehyun (taeyongs confidence person) and finds out why he's really shying away from her.

Middle: Having enough of this fidgeting around each other, Jiyoos ask Taeyong to come to the cafe with her and straight out tells him she doesn't care about his past, and that he shouldn't be worried about. She tells him how everyone has things they regret from the past, and that she can see he has definitely grown from the regret he bore. In wanting to persuade him more, she tells him how about what happened to her parents and that dwelling on the past wouldn't make their current situation any better. Taeyong feels extremely relieved by this and he can finally happily go on a date with her.

Although the first date was slightly awkward for a bit and because he was a bit tentative to speak first, Jiyoo was chattery enough to
bring up questions that make him have to answer more than one word, and he slowly let go of his 'cool-guy' image and the real Taeyong came out. You could also say he still felt a bit shameful about everything, but as he got engulfed in Jiyoo's warm and open personality his whole cool front broke.

Once the ice was broken they got pretty close straight away, he knew he could trust her and that she would accept him no matter what.
It took him a while, but now he relies on her a lot. He tells her about his problems and vice versa, and it always turns in to both offering advice to the other or comfort, depending on the type of situation. Although he acts like he's very cooly dealing with the whole soulmate thing, he's actually very lovable and protective - at times even overprotective. Even during their first weeks of meeting, Jiyoo had already noticed he was a very caring and attentive person, just by the small things he did. For example, he would make sure she was walking on the inner side of the sidewalk, or the fact that he knew her favorite beverages in just a week made him all the more lovable.

During the first few weeks Taeyong always felt awkward to show skinship, although he really wanted to do this because she looked so huggable and cute in his eyes but when Jiyoo casually grabbed his hand to drag him somewhere, he realized he didn't need to be awkward at all at that it was Jiyoo, the person who would mind it the least from him. From then on he would naturally greet her with a hug and after a while even a kiss. When they were together, he would constantly be in touch with her, might it be by holding hands, playing with her fingers or placing his hand on her hip/shoulder he always needed that connection. At times Taeyong gets cutely jealous when other guys get too close to Jiyoo - in his eyes, and she'll tease him playfully about it with him always denying it, but it will mostly end up in them kissing or making out in general. At times he'll just be very flirty to show people that she's his and that anyone should back off, even at times saying pg19 comments.

The first time Jiyoo asked him to come over, she had expected it to be a bit awkward, but as soon as he saw her world map with all the photos he enthusiastically started asking her questions about all the places she's been too, and the evening ended in the two of them binge-watching a movie, and after a while also cuddling under the blankets, he loves it if she rests her head on his chest. Slowly this became a natural occurrence for them. After a while, he became comfortable enough to fall asleep next to her, with his head in her lap, and her fingers playing with his hair. Just the idea that there is someone who is there for him, is really comforting for him.

End: As time passes even others around them can notice how serious they are about each other, and how much they've really come to love each other besides the soulmates bond. It's something about the way they only need to look at each other to know what the others think. Taeyong has already told his friends about her, and by now Jisoo and Jiyoo's mom know about him although they've never met him in real life because Taeyong still feels scared to meet them after he found out she was from a rich background.

As if fate had another decision about this, they came across Jisoo when they were out shopping for new clothes, and Jiyoo managed to get them to grab a drink together on the spot as she went into a lingerie shop. At first, Taeyong was really stiff and slightly scared, but soon he noticed how much similarities Jisoo and Jiyoo had he started easing up. Just like Jiyoo, Jisoo managed to make him talk easily despite his reserved front and by the time Jiyoo came back, they had indulged in a deep conversation about their similar interest in dance, and Jisoo had even promised to send Taeyong baby pictures and derp pictures after exchanging contacts. Not fazed by this Jiyoo simply stated: "As I don't send those on a daily basis already".

『Couple Trivia』;
• Both of them love to cook, and sometimes bicker about who should cook for the two ending in them doing rock-paper-scissors to decide, and if the two decide to cook together instead of having a war about who should cook for the other, they'll become compatible machines around each other. Yet occasionally Taeyong will throw some ramen or kimchi at Jiyoo just to tease her, and she'll throw them back and it does actually become a food war. After that the both of them would go in to a cleaning frenzy, because the both of them are hellah neat freaks.
• Taeyong is saved as "my lovable dry stick" in Jiyoos contacts because of the way he behaved when they first met. Taeyong as saved her as "My cute flappy bird" because of her active nature.
• Although he looks like he hates aegyo more than he hates Johnnys imitation of a parrot, anytime she's upset he’ll do that cute aegyo of his just to get her to laugh or cheer up. When he really wants Jiyoo to do something or get a kiss from her, he'll turn his aegyo up a notch.
• Yet when Jiyoo compliments him or tells him he looks hot/sexy, he'll become the human version of a ripe tomato. Saying things like "Not fair, you caught me off guard" when Jiyoo starts teasing him.
• If he sees her cry - even if it's just during a movie, he'll start crying along and they'll end up comforting each other with cuddles and lovable whispering.
• After he got a spare key to her house, he would sneak in to clean or cook for her and leave again because he has work or something, and he would leave a handwritten note for her with cheesy lines.
• Once walked into a lingerie shop with her, but he didn't notice because he was too focused on Jiyoo. She knew this and decided to tease him and held up two pairs of lacy underwear asking him which one he would prefer. The boy dashed out of the shop with a nosebleed and a red face, leaving Jiyoo behind with a stomachache.
• Likes to hide his face in Jiyoo's neck when he's embarrassed.
• Taeyong knows that Jiyoos neck is her weak spot and that she's very sensitive to touches on her neck, and he always kisses her there in the most inappropriate moments.
• When Jiyoos on her period and starts craving food he'll do anything to get her all that, and even rub her stomach when the cramps hit her. Yet when she's eating chocolate, he'll be next to her eating twice the amount she is.
• One arcade date a week is a must since they both have a penchant for games.
• One day Jiyoo woke up with a ring on her left hand, and when she looked to her left Taeyong had left a note on the place he had slept last night saying "I'm too embarrassed to give you this when you're awake, so I slipped it on during the night. I love you". The coming day's everyone got to know the story from Jiyoo as they noticed their matching rings, and Taeyong became the teasing pole of the group.
• Taek-Woon is team Taeyong because he thinks the mans a cute hottie and because he has hot friends.
• Jiyoo has made it a habit to tell Taeyong flirty pick-up lines because she wants to see him all flustered and shit, especially when he's omitting a scary possessive aura.
• The couch could be al empty and Tayeong would still pull her on to his lap, just to hug her waist and be in touch. He would either rest his chin on her shoulder, or his lips would ghost over her skin.
• Taeyong loves Jiyoos British accent when she talks English and thinks its a turn on.
• Always holds on to her when staying over, because he can't sleep otherwise.
• Taeyong isn’t much of a gift-giver, he doesn’t really see the need for it, or so his friends said. He would randomly gift them a carton of eggs or a new raincoat, practical shit if they said they needed it, but with her, he loves to spoil her in any way possible even to the point were Jiyoo gets mad because she wants to pay her own share.
• She knows she has become a stable pillar in his life, and she can always sense when he needs her by side to just hold him or to just listen to him. Sometimes even being in each others presence is just enough.
• Send each other, music, memes and anything in general that prickle their interest.
• A picture of her sleeping is his phone background, and hers is him acting cute.
• Sometimes, Mark, Johnny, Jiyoo, and Jaehyun talk in English on purpose just to flex on Taeyong and make him jealous.
• Ever since Lucas told Taeyong he got a pretty soulmate, he's been guarding Jiyoo extremely well around the younger male.

『Requested Scenes with L/I』;
- Going to the arcade together, and becoming really competitive in the dancing games
- Taeyong staying over for the first time
- A funny food fight between the two ending in them making out
- The two of them going on a food hunt date and forgetting to answer their phones making everyone hellah worried.
- They stay up till late in the night, talking about themselves their likes and their dreams, while watching the silent night on Jiyoo's balcony.
- Getting into the haunted house together, and Taeyong expecting her to unbothered, but she gets hellah scared and clings on to him majorly, making him bust a uwu yet at the same time becoming protective.
- Taeyong seeing her tattoos for the first time and being amazed by them, tracing along the lines with his fingers and constantly questioning her if it hurt.
- Jiyoo waiting at his bedroom door the whole night to make up for a fight they had earlier that day. When he finds her the next morning, he feels extremely guilty because she slept on the cold floor, and he didn't expect his baby had to suffer, so he tightly tucked her in his bed and constantly apologized whilst hugging her tightly. The fight was long forgotten.
- Jiyoo explaining her past to him and getting emotionally vulnerable for the first time with him.
- The scene where he accidentally walks into the lingerie shop with Jiyoo, and dashes out with a nosebleed.
- Going to a waterpark with everyone, but Jiyoo ends up wearing his shirt because he gets so damn protective and Jealous because of the stares.


『An idea of how they meet』; Taeyong visited the cafe Jiyoo works at with a group of his friends, and the coincidently start talking about their Polaroids and that they haven't made any progress so far. Just as Taeyong was about to put away his polaroid, Jiyoo appears by their table to serve them their orders, and with big eyes, he watches how his polaroid starts changing into a clear photo. Lucas who was seated next to the elder one notices this and yells shocked "Hyung, she's your soulmate!" making everyone, including Jiyoo, looked at him shock. Without a second of waiting Jiyoo pulled her polaroid out of her back pocket and watched with amazement, as the male in front of her started appearing in the picture too.
