14.4.4.9 AETHERSUITS

Aethersuits is the latest in gnome engineering available from one Tink McFierce aboard the Star
Hopper aethership. These resplendent aethersuits come in a variety of shapes and serve as armour.
The basic suit has two slots for tailoring knots but it cannot have armour runes attached to it.
Instead all aethersuits can be upgraded with modules that are built right into the suit.
NOTE: You can NOT use masterarmour runes on aethersuits.

Syntax: AETHERSUIT POWERS
        AETHERSUIT MODULES
        AETHERSUIT PURCHASE <module> [CONFIRM]

Basic Modules:
        + Master (25 dingbats)
          Grants the suit the benefits of splendour robes or master armour
          if you have the relevant skill active. Also grants 1 extra slot
          for tailoring knots.

        + Slot (300 dingbats)
          This module can be upgraded three times, each granting an extra
          armour slot for tailoring knots.

        + Flying (200 dingbats)
          Enables your rocket boosters, granting flight.

For the following modules, you must have the first power of a given type to
upgrade to the second one.

Empath Modules:
         + Healing (100 dingbats)
           Grants your suit a 10% bonus to hull healing at an empath grid.

         + Regeneration (250 dingbats)
           Speeds your body's ability to absorb healing elixirs by about 10%.
           Prerequisite: Healing

Commander Modules:
         + Speed (100 dingbats)
           Lets you fly through aetherspace faster when commanding a ship.

         + Leader (250 dingbats)
           A squad leader wearing an aethersuit with this upgrade will
           yield 5% more gold and experience for  all.
           Prerequisite: Speed

Battle Modules:
         + Turret (100 dingbats)
           Boosts the power of turrets you use in aetherships by 10%.

         + Shouldergun (250 dingbats)
           Two shoulder-mounted guns may automatically fire  at your enemies
           when you attack.
           Prerequisite: Turret

Energy Modules:
         + Siphon (100 dingbats)
           Increases the amount of power siphoned on an aethership by 10%.

         + Reserves (250 dingbats)
           Boosts your maximum power reserves by 10%.
           Prerequisite: Siphon

Merchant Modules:
         + Aethercommerce (100 dingbats)
           Allows you to barter more effectively with aether merchants,
           eliciting 25% more for your trades.

         + Influence (250 dingbats)
           Allows you to recover faster when influencing.

is a marvel of engineering and metalwork mastery. Moulded from an extremely light alloy, the entire
apparatus allows for ample mobility while offering additional strength to the wearer. Attached via a
leather harness, all other implements from the chest protector to moving joints combine several
segments of an exceedingly light-weight metal. All skeletal replicas along the ensemble terminate in
intricate and massive components enveloping the hands and feet, designed to punch and kick with
enhanced force. In contrast to the whole, a touch of organic wool provides a cloak, affixed at the

into one dress. The top is a prim, silken white shirt with long sleeves and a ruffled, lace-inset

completes the bottom, layers of a black lace petticoat whispering from beneath. At the waist, the

Black worsted wool of the finest grade is the canvas of this military uniform's cut with clean, form-
fitted lines and a smart, neat silhouette. Gold trims the neck, hems, and the torso zipper to accent
the double-sided aureate buttons running in rows across the chest to the waist. Similar baubles
adorn the cuffs and the upturned, strict neckline that nearly brushes the wearer's jaw with chains
of the same metal embellishing the collarbone. The tiniest links of gold create a fringe dangling

A sumptuous affair in decadent bronze taffeta, silk, and whisper-thin leather, the gown is a
formidable adornment for any lady who is as like to wine and dine, as to require a knife strapped to
her thigh. The bodice has been tailored to close in the front much like a jacket, fastened with
three leather belts with ornate clasps. Supple calfskin of the bodice makes way for an inset of
finely ruched silk going upwards before the sides part into a swan neckline trimmed with lace.
Featuring only a wisp of a cap sleeve, the bodice bears enhanced pauldrons on both shoulders, their
surface a richly-tooled walnut-brown leather lined with golden chains. The right adornment extends
to cover the entire arm in belts and subtly hidden brass gearwork that vanish within an elbow-length

than the last and made of only the most luxurious fabrics. The mid-thigh jacket has been sewn from
black silk printed with a detailed ornate pattern of dark silver gears, its peak-style, wide lapels
bedecked with onyx buttons that serve as little more than ornamentation as the jacket has not been
crafted to close. Its exagerrated cuffs, lapel, and tops of pockets have been trimmed in sanguine
silk printed with the pattern already echoed throughout but in pitch-black. A matte black vest
catches the eye from beneath, complimenting a black satin shirt topped with a sanguine and black
brocade tie. Silken black pants with neither cuffs nor pockets round off the ensemble, a black

Sleek and pliable, the uniform is more second skin than outfit. Composed of a remarkably light,
slate grey fabric which stretches to adjust to the wearer's physique, the uniform covers the body
from the neck down in a luxurious, cool layer of protection and enhancement. Supple, iron-grey grey
leather insets lend the outfit a fashionable appearance while breaking the monotony of the design. A
metal zipper runs up the front from the navel allowing the pilot uniform to be donned and discarded
with ease. Across the shoulders, forearms, and gripping the calves, armour pieces of lusterless
metal enforce the limbs, their lengths inlaid with lines that glim dimly with aetherlights from the
power mechanisms of the suit located on the back. Both gauntlets have been outfitted with mechanisms
to assist in the operating of aetherships: targetting, steering, communications, and other systems

Statuesque and polished to a shine, copper comprises the framework of this clockwork gown burnished
in radiant hues of reddish-orange. Moulded from a single, solid piece, the bust and torso accentuate
and define an hourglass figure with emphasis on the small waist with gradated rings leading to a
flared, ballgown style skirt. This lower half is an engineering feat with rods and pipes, exposing
the inner workings of the dress like an unfinished building. Despite the exposure, it is fortified
with several cross beams and an intricate criss-crossing pattern along the hem. Tiny golden pistons
constantly move inside this frame, occasionally exhaling steam to give the impression that the
wearer walks atop a cloud. Aureate cogs and gears accent the ensemble on the shoulders, bustline,
