  1. Hideously Malformed Mutant
  2.
  3. Health: 9.1m
  4. Minimum interrupts required: 6
  5.
  6. The Hideously Malformed Mutant is by far the easiest mini-boss in Genetic Archives. Most guilds shouldn’t have a problem killing first try or in a small handful of pulls.
  7.
  8. Setup:
  9.
  10. 1 Tank + 1 depending setup
  11. 3-4 Healers
  12. 13-16 DPS
  13. Quick cap:
  14.
  15. Spread out
  16. Assign people to run into Squirgs
  17. Interrupt Genetic Consumption
  18. Strategy:
  19. You will want to pull the Hideously Malformed Mutant out of his room and into the corridor between the mini-bosses room and the room connecting to experiment X-89 and the central room where you fight the genetic monstrosity.
  20.
  21. Throughout the fight the boss will passively spawn Squirg. These are small squid like creatures that have a very odd pattern of behavior. Sometimes they will slowly squiggle toward the boss and sometimes they will just sit there and do nothing.
  22.
  23. If any Squirg reach the boss, he will consume them and gain a stack of Genetic Augmentation. This will increase his damage dealt by 10% per stack.
  24.
  25. When Squirgs reaches a player they will attach themselves to that player providing the player with two debuffs:
  26.
  27. Cellular Leech – Puts a small red circle telegraph on you causing you take damage every 1.0s, allies around you will also take damage. The amount of damage your allies take is far greater. stacks.
  28. Cellular Breakdown – Your damage increased by 50% per stack.
  29. Both of these debuffs stack. It’s not advised that anyone apart from the tanks takes more than 1-2 stacks however.
  30.
  31. It’s suggested you assign Engineers, Spellslingers and possibly Espers to pick up any wandering Squirg and ensure they are spread out at ranged to ensure that are not getting hit by each others Cellular Leech.
  32.
  33. An alternative tactic is to assign 1-2 tanks to pick up Squirg. This is safer tactic, but unnecessary in my opinion.
  34.
  35. The boss will also occasionally cast an ability called Mitosis. Mitosis splits all squigs currenlty active into 2. This is why it is important you assign people to take the Squirgs or you raid can become overrun by them if they are ignored.
  36.
  37. The next ability of note is Genetic Consumption. Genetic Consumption heals for an amount increased by how many squirgs active. It can be interrupted. When the boss casts Genetic Consumption he gains 5 interrupt armor, so it will take a total of 6 interrupts to interrupt this cast.
  38.
  39. Genetic Consumption is the only thing to interrupt in this fight and it is cast fairly infrequently so everyone should be able to throw at least one interrupt at it. For safety purposes and also having a clear idea of who to blame if this cast goes off; you could assign several people to focus on interrupting this cast.
