- 23:56] Kristin Langford: The internet is one of the best AND worst things to happen to the human race.
- [23:56] Sarah Temple: It was better before the mundanes started getting on it.
- [23:56] Isane Konnair: fucking normies
- [23:56] Officer Naja: NORMIES GET OUT
- [23:57] Sarah Temple: No, not 'normies', Mundanes. Boring people.
- [23:57] Sarah Temple: You can be normal and still be interesting.
- [23:57] Colton Walker: I think no one ever realize how it would change our society when it slowly grew in popularity in the 90s.
- [23:57] Colton Walker: The Eternal Semptember.
- [23:57] Colton Walker: *September

- Gays are too chewy anyway..
- [23:57] Nathan Miller: What
- [23:58] Officer Naja: serving gays
- [23:58] Officer Naja: get it
- [23:58] Kristin Langford: Eternal September is right Colton.
- [23:58] Officer Naja: it's a pun
- [23:58] Isane Konnair: A business has the right to refuse service to anyone they want
- [23:58] Kristin Langford: Yep.
- [23:59] Kristin Langford: It may be shitty of them, but they have the right.
- [23:59] Isane Konnair: Just like those 8 gay bakeries refused to bake that conservative journalist a cake
- [23:59] Bradach MacEachainn: For now.

- no pudding until you eat all your gays
- [23:59] Officer Naja: I think, generally, you should have the right to refuse someone service if they're being a dick.
- [23:59] Officer Naja: But refusing them on the basis of their sexuality or appearance or belief system goes beyond that.
- [23:59] Isane Konnair: How much money did that pizzaria make because people started attacking them for saying they don't do catering?
- [23:59] Sarah Temple: But it's too easy for people to go 'oh well I'm <insert minority>'
- [00:00] Sarah Temple: And suddenly it's not about their behavior anymore

- I'm British, and even I think this motherfucker needs to calm the fuck down about their tea.
- BoondockTaints 100 points : 1 replies : 6 hours ago reply
- As an American, maybe you didn't learn from the first time you guys told us to calm down about our tea.
- [00:01] Colton Walker: Problem is, people are too goddamn dumb to simply say "Sorry, we're booked that period of time!" or any other legit business-related excuse.
- [00:01] Nathan Miller: That's actually not a universal right, if it can be proven that the business is substantially involved in interstate commerce they fall under federal discrimination laws. Not to mention that most states have their own discrimination laws. It doesn't come to who gets refused service but why in any case. It would for example be perfectly legal under all jurisdictions to refuse service to someone being a dick for being a dick, even if he was a gay disabled black veteran.
- [00:01] Kristin Langford: Except that the media would report them being refused for being gay or black.
- [00:01] Sarah Temple: ^
- [00:02] Sarah Temple: Not disabled, at least not as often
- [00:02] Kristin Langford: I can't tell how many times I've seen people being whipped up into a frenzy, then read the fuckign article and realized that they'd missed a word that totally changes the situation.
- [00:02] Kristin Langford: I'm sure I've done it too.
- [00:02] Isane Konnair: Black first, then gay, then disabled, in order of importance to liberal media
- [00:03] Officer Naja: I sincerely hate the phrase "liberal media" because I always hear "don't believe the" immediately before it in my head and it makes people sound like conspiracy nuts.
- [00:03] Sarah Temple: you really should just remove 'liberal' from before it
- [00:03] Sarah Temple: don't believe the media in general
- [00:03] Isane Konnair: good point
- [00:03] Isane Konnair: mainstream media
- [00:03] Sarah Temple: No, any of it.
- [00:04] Officer Naja: No, I know
- [00:04] Isane Konnair: All sides are equally shit
- [00:04] Officer Naja: but
- [00:04] Sarah Temple: Always assume they are lying to you.
- [00:04] Sarah Temple: All of them.
- [00:04] Officer Naja: anytime someone uses the phrase "the liberal media" it's because they're telling you not to listen to it
- [00:04] Officer Naja: almost every time
- [00:04] Colton Walker: Or listen to their supported shows.
- [00:04] Sarah Temple: You do get the same thing RE: the conservative media
- [00:04] Colton Walker: Fox News, etc.
- [00:04] Isane Konnair: Don't listen to any media
- [00:04] Sarah Temple: The media stopped being good when they decided they had to fill 24 hours with news
- [00:04] Isane Konnair: This is just preaching to the choir, let's drop it
- [00:05] Kristin Langford: Non-mainstream media usually has it's own biases. Frequently even more obvious and severe than the mainstream.
- [00:05] Sarah Temple: it's either not good in the 'why do I care about this guy's cat that has a Jesus patterned sphincter' way or it's not good in the 'BOMBS AND GUNS AND HORRORS OVERSEAS more at 11 BUY PRODUCTS'
- [00:06] Kristin Langford: "Tune in at 11 or YOUR CHILDREN WILL DIE!!!!!!"
- [00:06] Sarah Temple: "well good those bastards need to stop eating all the reese's puffs"
- [00:06] Colton Walker: "ARE GAY BLACK MUSLIMS INFILTRATING OUR SCHOOLS!?!? TUNE IN AT 9!!!"
- [00:07] Nathan Miller: No, really, either connect this to EVO or stop.
- [00:08] Bradach MacEachainn: http://imgur.com/gallery/3oJk1
- [00:08] Colton Walker: Right, sorry.
- [00:08] Kristin Langford: Some creative shit in there.
- [00:09] Snooze: I don't appreciate having people tell me the room is exploding into sociopolitical shitslinging while I'm trying to study for finals. Please take it to PMs next time you feel like your passion on a subject may inveigh against your peers' comfort zones.
- [00:09] Snooze: That is all.
- [00:09] Isane Konnair: Looked more like everyone was agreeing and discussing things peacefully
- [00:10] Snooze: The PMs I received said otherwise.
- [00:10] Sarah Temple: Yeah, truthfully that wasn't anywhere near bad, it was people poking fun at stupidity.
- [00:10] Isane Konnair: I'd be delighted to share logs to prove otherwise
- [00:10] Snooze: just everyone get along, is the main thing
- [00:10] Isane Konnair: Everyone was
