  1. ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT SHOW BY ROCK!! THE GAME
  2.
  3.
  4. I. BARE ESSENTIALS / FAQ
  5. 1.How do I get the game?
  6. For iOS users, get a Japanese iTunes account and download straight from the App Store.
  7. For Android users, go to http://apk.qoo-app.com/ and download an application called Qooapp. This is a Chinese app that has quite a decent library of Asian region-locked games, including Show By Rock!!. Make sure you download both the main game AND the additional APK files.
  8. For Windows Phone users, get a phone that actually has games.
  9. --------------------------------------------------------------------------
  10. 2.I can't read Japanese for shit, can I still play the game?
  11. Everything is pretty much straightforward in this game, and you only need minimal knowledge of Japanese to get through the game (as long as you skip the little episodes, which usually hold not much importance to the actual game). https://kelaruj.wordpress.com/category/show-by-rock/ will guide you through the basic matters, although the UI shown is outdated.
  12. --------------------------------------------------------------------------
  13. 3.Where do I input these codes?
  14. Press menu (far-right), and press the icon with the key. Input the code into whatever section your code needs to be put into.
  15. --------------------------------------------------------------------------
  16. 4.My shitty phone starts lagging or not registering my tapping!
  17. Try increasing your phone performance. Turn on low spec mode, and change the kernel CPU and GPU settings to Performance. Try not to overheat your phone as well.
  18. If your phone still plays the game terribly, sucks to be you. Better get a cheap tablet like:
  19. >Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7 (Snapdragon 800) 180
  20. >Asus Nexus 7 2013 (S4 Pro) 185
  21. >Hisense Sero 8 Pro F5281 (Rockchip RK3288) 220
  22. >HP Slate 7 Extreme (Tegra 4) 135
  23. >HP Slate 8 Pro (Tegra 4) 180
  24. >NVIDIA Shield Tablet (Tegra K1) 300
  25. >Xiaomi Mi Pad (Tegra K1) 240
  26. --------------------------------------------------------------------------

  56. Some anon has helpfully compiled what he could find here: https://mega.co.nz/#F!5UohRS4L!w5mnX64epZjh5dIMGLio1Q
  57. Buy their albums if you want to support the artists behind, however, unless you want them to disband.

  61. II. HOW TO GIT BETTER
  62. 1.I just started the game, how can I survive the first few days?
  63. Focus on Tour first, no matter how badly you want to do whatever Events there may be at the time. You will have way too few hearts to do anything else anyway.
  64. Doing Easy Daily missions will help you get Egg cards or money for your leveling needs as well. In fact, focus on them first, since you would need stronger cards if you want to participate and not get blown over in the Events.
  65. While doing all that, check on your Bingo (most top-left button in the main page). You will surely start finishing them if you continue to play, and it gives you even more Melodisian and Egg cards.
  66. --------------------------------------------------------------------------
  67. 2.How should I go about the cards?
  68. N cards are almost worthless, so as soon as you get >R cards get rid of them.
  69. Since they give you space for 5 different decks, fill them up with cards with same colors for each. Also, put the rarest card you have as Main, as only the passive skill of your Main card will activate during the game.
  70. The game is quite generous with the Melodisians, but wait until you get 50 of them so you can use 10x Gacha instead. Until then, use your friendship points on the normal Gacha and hope for an R.
  71. Leveling up the cards is important as well, but try to use Egg cards that you can get from Weekday missions or events to level your cards up instead of N cards, which you should sell instead. Upgrade N cards only to clear some of the 'Bingo' missions, in which you have to level certain number of cards fully. Those easiest to level fully are found here: https://i.imgur.com/pCRWWdH.jpg
  72. --------------------------------------------------------------------------
  73. 3.What is Tension and what is Soul?
  74. Tension is HP, Soul is points/attack (in case of boss battles)/defense. Both can be increased by either putting stronger cards in your deck or leveling your bands in 'Band' page (they also gain small exp from normal plays).
  75. --------------------------------------------------------------------------
  76. 4.What do all these different skills do?
  77. Most of the 'active' skills give you special notes that either give bonus points/damages or recover your Tension during the song.
  78. SR/SSR 'passive' skills are divided into ones that increase your Tension by a percentage, ones that increase your Soul by a percentage, ones that give bonus score upon FC, ones that make same-colored boss gauges fill up more slowly, and ones that negate up to 3 bads/misses.
  79. UR 'passive' skills are divided into ones that multiply your Fever points twice, ones that make the Fever gauge increase faster, ones that increase each notes' points 1.2x, ones that make ALL boss gauges fill up more slowly, and one outlier that increases your Soul instead (see if you can find it).
  80. There is a compilation of the skill translations here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/tRvtJUPprGnJOso78tKUf2A/htmlview
  81. You might realize that lots of cards have the exact same skills, so as long as you memorize certain keywords, you will be able to decipher the skills of other cards.
  82. --------------------------------------------------------------------------
  83. 5.About these other options in the Cards page...
  84. UR+ is when you have two of the same URs leveled up to the highest (50) level. You can combine them to form an upgraded version of the card, which can go up to Level 99 and has a better skill and Soul count than the usual card. It's quite unlikely that you'll get two of the same URs unless you paid actual cash, however, and only certain URs have a UR+ version at the moment.
  85. Kami Points can be gotten by exchanging any non-Egg cards with R rarities or above.
  86. R - 1 point
  87. SR - 10 points
  88. SSR - 25 points
  89. UR - 100 points
  90. UR+ - WHY THE FUCK
  91. With 300 points, you can use the Kami Gacha to get a special UR card. These UR cards cannot be gotten in the other Gachas.
  92. --------------------------------------------------------------------------
  93. 6.What different kinds of events are there?
  94. Normally, there are week-long events that follow a theme. In these events, there are two sub-categories - the points section and the high-score section.
  95. There are currently two types of points section - the bai challenges and the boss battles. In events with bai challenges, you get to play a song to get points. However, after a song, you will 'randomly' get a chance to triple, quadruple, quintuple or sextuple your points by completing a mission on another 'randomly'-rolled song. When you accumulate certain amounts of points, you will receive rewards like Melodisian stones, money, friendship points, and event-specific cards. In events with boss battles, you play songs to slowly fill up the boss gauge, and when it is completely filled up, you get to battle a boss with randomly-selected difficulty and song. Defeating the boss will give you 'points', which you use in the event gacha to roll for Melodisian stones, money, friendship points, and cards you can get from normal gachas. Rolling for a certain number of times will reward you with guaranteed event-specific cards.
  96. In the high-score section, you get a list of songs, 5-stars and higher. Your total score on all the songs will determine your ranking in this section. Event-specific cards that you can get from the points section and the UR cards that are currently featured in the gacha page give amazing bonuses to your total score in this section, so utilize them as much as possible.
  97. --------------------------------------------------------------------------
  98. 7.Any tips or shortcuts?
  99. You can treat long notes the same as short notes - you can both start AND stop pressing the long notes halfway - the game still marks it as PERFECT. Use this to go about those songs with ridiculous long note placements. Just make sure you let go at the end of the note - if you don't, the game marks it as a MISS.
  100. With enough Soul, you won't get damaged at all even if you miss during a boss fight. When your deck gets strong enough, you can even play the song until the boss dies, then leave the phone - you still won't die, and the song will be marked as completed at the end.
