The Albuquerque Police Department is well known for its unjustified use of excessive force. The Department of Justice has recently released a report that found APD to have a systemic pattern of using excessive force that violates the Fourth Amendment ( Section 14141 ) because of a lack of training, accountability and proper internal investigation. They recommended remedial measures that echo our community's demands for reform. However, these are only recommendations and there's still a lot left to be done. We still need change! This is only the beginning and I hope you join us in the fight for justice and reform of APD until the end.
